DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Get to enjoy a day off from work today. And, spent it at the dentist and paying bills. So much for the day off. Get to play tennis tonight, so there's that.

Oddly enough, I haven't seen a vaccine yet for abortion, heart disease or cigarette smoking. Huh.

The government banned people's right to assemble in a church to save lives. The government can't ban a cigarette to save lives? Or, are there certain people/ diseases whose lives are more worthy of saving?

that's an odd flavor combination but I could go for a bourbon flavored cigar

exactly

despite their best efforts we keep hanging around

whats that in American numbers?

When we booked our August trip I hoped we could go mask less. We are all vaccinated but hadn't anticipated how slow Florida would be to get the shot. Looks like we are gonna be masked up in the Florida summer >:(

That was the bad part of the July trip, wearing the mask in the summer and not being able to walk around outside to eat/drink.

It may or may not, but from what you've said, too bad there's not some recourse for a crappy realtor. Maybe call the agency/broker they work for?

Renting was okay, but I want to hit the market while it's on fire. The renters will not get their deposit back...carpet stains, dents in front door, refrigerator and dishwasher doors. Not sure what they were doing, but ridiculous. Also, one room.had to be repainted.

While.it was nice having someone else paying the mortgage, just rather sell and make a decent profit.

I called the broker and he didn't call back. I just want to kill the whole deal, but the Mrs wants the new house.

I get the downside of renters. I know that it's a potential money maker, but there is also the hassle factor.

Morning, Fellas! Heading in early again this week, so I'm going to have to keep it short. Had a good weekend. Took the family to the county fair on Saturday. We met up with some friends of ours and their son, which is mine and my DW's Godson. We all had a blast and were certainly tired after the long day. This was a short one day country fair, and I realized from this that I am in no way ready for a Disney World vacation. I spent most of yesterday chillin' and recuperating from Saturday. The DW and I both complained yesterday that we have to get into shape. So after complaining what do we do? Order pizza. Because that's what you do when you complain about getting into shape, right? Right? Well, fellas....cutting it there. Have a good day, and we'll chat later.

Good way to look at it.

::yes:::wave2:

Looks like I'm going to have to watch it. I mean, I would have watched it anyways, but knowing Scarlett is in tight leather? Absolutely.

I'm all set...thanks. :teeth:

Thankfully they didn't hang out at the dealership all day, but I have, and it's not fun.

Sucks on the realtor part. Hopefully something good will happen soon.

Eating pizza is always a good way to get in shape.

Great news!! (Sorry Norm)

Got a full price offer on the house yesterday. As long as they secure the loan, closing will be on Sep 2.

Excited, but also kinda grumbling(maybe more than kinda) about how many and how much people have their hands in your pocket when it comes to real estate. Not sure what it's like in other countries, but with commissions and closing costs, knock 8% off right away.

But will be nice to not have a 2nd mortgage.

Congrats on selling the home. No need to be sorry.

So you can't just sack your realtor and go with one who has a vague idea what they are doing? Or does she have some kind of exclusivity clause?
We can put our house up with multiple agents over here, and whoever sells it, gets the dough. Last couple of years there has been a massive trend to online agents that charge you something like 0.5%.

If we fire the realtor and sell the house within the next 3 months, we still are contractually bound to pay her a commission.

Mowing the yard under typical South'n heat conditions is bad enough...

Discovering a Yellow Jacket nest while you're at it adds a right significant increase to the misery index of that particular job though.

Push mower or riding lawn mower? Hope you outran or out drove them.

Morning, Fellas! Because I'm leaving for work early this week, I'm trying to get to those who quoted me quickly, so I will try and go back to read all the other ones at some point. Was sent to an office yesterday were all the providers/doctors were off. Once I found out that I wasn't going to be checking-in any patients I wondered why I was even supposed to be there. :confused3 I then got an email asking me to do confirmation calls for Friday. It didn't make sense for me to be there to do confirmation calls, but the office was at the hospital and they have a good cafeteria. So....why not. I did get a salad with some chicken on top, so it was a decent lunch. Well, that's it. Have a good day, guys.

Or a burlap sack, though I'd prefer a thinner, less opaque trash bag to a burlap sack, but still. 👇

👍

This is true, and I've realized that the Dad Bod is in, so....:teeth:

It was a blast.

At least it's better than eating pizza.

Congrats Doc!
Morning all.

Suppose to be a bit wet today and of course it is the day we are leaving on a 4 day camping trip. Oh well, as long as I can get the tent up when it isn't raining all will be good. The next few days are forecast to be nice so it should be a good time.

Have a good one all.
Saw pics on the other place too - looks like a nice getaway
7 days in a row and 12 hours yesterday... called in sick today. Still working tonight's midnight shift, though.
Then off "camping" for 3 days with the DDs. Rented a cabin, so we'll see how that goes.
Hope you are having a good time and getting some rest

Morning chaps from a sunny London. Offloaded the rugrats to my Mum for a couple of days, so off to a restaurant later. 6k run this morning, as I made the questionable decision to sign up again for the WDW marathon in January. At least it spurs me on to get back out pounding the pavement. Felt pretty good this morning, but then it always does when I've left it a few weeks.

At least it's better than eating pizza.
Very few things are.....

Yeeew.
I'm imaging the scooby doo type legs carrying you away from the mower.

Hate it when that happens. Hioe your not alergic
Push mower or riding lawn mower? Hope you outran or out drove them.
Push mower...
It's an underground nest in the middle of the front yard and I just merrily strolled right over it. Didn't realize the problem until after getting stung. At least I'm not allergic, but those critters are right nasty and the bits are still swollen and aching considerable.

I got someone coming out to deal with it though. There are way too many young'ens runnin' 'round my neighborhood to be leaving something like that unattended to.

That's what it should'a looked like.
Instead I just though I'd been got by a horse fly or some such and just swatted at it and kept going. Thing is it kept hurting and kept getting worse and it was another pass or two through the area before I figured out what was going on. Weird how the brain works... once I realized why I was hurting, that's when the pain became severe and forced me to stop for a bit. Still went back out and finished the job a few minutes later, but I've been paying for that decision for the last several days.

Poor little guys. Minding their own business and then some jerk comes along and destroys their home for no reason. I'd want to go all Chuck Norris on that dude, too.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Who the heck gets up to run at DDCC? Have a good one!

Hope you're doin better and glad you have someone else coming out to take care of it or that could be a whole another story for sharing here.

Frankly I'm amazed he's not getting up to cheer me on at the start.
Or more likely still up from the night before

Anybody going to be in the world Aug 7-13th? I'm entering the terminal phase of planning and we have started packing.

I can possibly meet up with, but I don't have an AP now, so Downtown Disney or resort maybe.

Another day at work, another 20 patients, and another 9 or 10 discharged home. All that means is I get 9 or 10 new ones tomorrow. :sad2:

Had a group email go out asking for more shift coverages at work. I offered to pick up some extra days, and am now working 40 hours a week in August. I could probably get 50 or 60 hours a week if I wanted. Not sure what's worse - no one else is qualified to work or I'm qualified for the job. :lmao:

We had the realtor lower the price on the house 10K and are getting lots of showings. I messaged and told her I wasn't taking a penny less, and was keeping possession until a week after I closed on the new house, and that would be the phrasing in the contract. Any other offer would be rejected, so don't even bring it. Apparently, there are two offers in the works already, but none submitted. Maybe this was her plan all along - sell it cheap to a friend/ realtor. I do like a good conspiracy theory. Oh well. It gets DW her new house and will make her happy.

I always like a good pizza. As fat as I am, no one doubted that. I think the gentleman from the great Maine north woods was posting about getting into better Disney shape, thus my comment.

Have fun running, 007.

Sorry to hear you're still hurting. Thankfully, I've not had an encounter myself. But, I keep a couple of cans of wasp & hornet spray handy. When I do see a nest, especially under the horizontal beams in the fence, I soak the suckers. The sprays have been recommended for self-defense spray for women in offices, as they spray a great distance, and can blend into an environment unlike mace or pepper spray.

will touch base with our final plans next week and see if we can make it work. Southwest has changed out flights twice so far, we are doing Downtown Disney on the 7th, and maybe a but on the 13 depending on what our outbound flights ends up being
