DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Can see why it's sensitive. Presume you could build there, but with construction limitations/precautions.
They keep changing the rules but you have to leave so much grass. And drainage to keep parking lot run off out of storm water system. And you can't disturb more than a certain percentage of land during construction.

Because you know Dan
Yup

I have no idea what you mean. What could be more wholesome than some fluffy biscuits, all plump and warm, smothered in sausage gravy.

;)
And I thought sure that your were talking about cookies and icing.
An apparent instance of over translation on my part, there ;)

So...
is it the bread, the sausage or the bechamel that troubles you most?

This is what gravy should look like.

Add cheese curds to that and you get...
Brown puke.

po-ta-to, po-tah-to

Both concoctions are tasty as far as I'm concerned (BTW)

And if you'd consider having bread along with any gravy-inclusive dish, and possibly even using said baked goods to sop up all of that gravy goodness, then again, were talkin' 'bout the same thing.

Mind if I interrupt the gravy train?

I've not had a very good day today.
Started out okay, had some good parts, but feeling kinda low right now.

I was on a spare shift today, which, during Covid, means I can stay home if not activated. I wasn't. Day off! Yay!
Wish I'd gone in.

Since I was home, figured I'd mow the lawn. I pulled the cord and... the mower started, but the cord broke off. Managed to mow the lawn without stopping the mower (it wasn't very long) which was a good thing. I Googled and found a guy who does small engine repairs and he was only 5 minutes away. Called him up and he said to bring it over and he'd take a look. Ever pick up a mower? It's not overly heavy, but you have to bend over and lift with your back since the center of gravity is in the middle of the mower. Yeah... partially threw my back out. I was mobile, but... it hurts. The guy fixed it in 15 minutes and only charged me $15. Not bad, I thought. He even helped me put it back in the car. Had to take it out when I got home, mind you. That didn't help. I spent a while relaxing in the pool with both acetaminophen and ibuprofen on board. Felt well enough that I decided to take my motorcycle out and run downtown to get some cookies for the family. I parked the bike, walked in the doors to the mall and saw right away it was closed. Turned around, exited and... my bike was lying on its side. Some a$$hat had backed into it. Only consolation is someone got the make & model of the truck and the license plate number. Filing a police report tomorrow morning.

Now I have a dented up bike, my back is worse (picking the bike up was just what I needed) and I can't lie down tonight and rest because I'm working until 6:30am (CDT).

Sorry for venting. Just needed to let it out.

Ah sorry Ponzie, that totally blows mate. Hopefully your back is just a warning shot from your body rather than being laid up.

At least you got the license plate, looks like that dude is gonna get whacked with the insurance and a hefty fine on top. I have no idea why people do that. Accidents happen right? That's why insurance is there.

Vent away my friend, life throws curveballs sometimes.

Mornin', Gents! Had an east day yesterday working at the main office making phone calls, so an easy day. Day started off when my scheduling supervisor walked in in her tight yoga pants and a t-shirt. Mmmmmm Too bad she had to change, but it was nice while it lasted. I'll be back at the main office again today so another easy day. Lots on the agenda this weekend. We have a house guest in about 3 weeks, so lots of cleaning and organizing. The DW gave me permission to go through a bunch of boxes in the basement and get rid of most of it, as long as it's not music related...so YAY! That'll be a lot of space cleaned up right there. This will also give up the opportunity to shift stuff to that cleaned area so we can just move stuff. The problem of not really organizing for a while. Never again. Never! Again! Power to the people! (cues music "Do You Hear the People Sing" from Les Mis.)

TTFN, and Happy Friday!

Morning chaps from a sunny and 75 London. Couple of more hours, then I have a "meeting" with refreshements in an alternative meeting space that seems to resemble a bar with around 4 work colleagues, who are fast becoming a regular drinking club.
For the boat enthusiasts, the bar (ahem, the meeting venue) overlooks HMS Belfast, the floating museum.

I hope your "meeting" went well and was productive.

Good on her. I enjoy cover versions of tracks in a completely different genre. Makes me think about the track more. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are a fine example of this, especially the 50s album.

Yeah, I'm not sure how it'll sound, but can't wait to see how it turns out. I suspect she might keep some of those songs in her rep to pull out at gigs. You know, to impress people. I'll have to look that group up.

Morning boys, we are officially on the downhill side of the week.

:cheer2::cheer2:

That I gotta hear

That's make two of us. Because she was recording I didn't bother her, but could hear a little bit of it. Now, she's part of a trio, harp, trumpet and vocalist, so she's not playing the melody all the time, I'm sure, but suspect that could change if she chose to have that in her rep for gigs.

Why do I get the feeling that what I picture when you say biscuits and gravy is not what you mean when you say biscuits and gravy.

It's the English to English translation...doesn't always translate correctly.

I'm sorry... what?!?!?

Yep, Metallica on the harp.

I have no idea what you mean. What could be more wholesome than some fluffy biscuits, all plump and warm, smothered in sausage gravy.

:thumbsup2

Ok, that's was just funny. However....👇

Now need to apologize, my friend, that's what we're here for. I am sorry to hear this. As someone who has back issues I can certainly relate, and sympathize. As for the bike? That's just messed up. I hope that a$$hate gets what's coming to him/her. Jerk.

Morning, boys. 1 hour to go and I'm sprung from work.
Being horizontal sounds pretty good right about now.

Ah sorry Ponzie, that totally blows mate. Hopefully your back is just a warning shot from your body rather than being laid up.
Hope so too. Hasn't flared up overnight, so I'm hopeful.

I dunno if the guy can somehow weasel out of the responsibility for it, but if so, it shouldn't cost me very much. Also what insurance is there for.
Vent away my friend, life throws curveballs sometimes.
Thanks. And yes it does.
Thank you.

Photos or it didn't happen!

Dang. Guess that would be a little obvious.

Yeah, I hope he not only has to pay my damages but gets some kind of charge from the cops too. I have no idea how that works.

Good that you got details for the hit-n-run yahoo, but that's a whole lot of crappy for just one day. Let's not be doing that again any time soon.

Geez. Take the rest of the weekend off. Tell your boss I said it was ok.

Sorry you had that load of crap dumped in our lap. Hope things get better for you soon.

I do all of the conversion for you, mate. All part of the disdads international service, seeing as you are on the premium plan ;)

:rotfl2:Every once in a while, you come up with a turn of phrase that just cracks me up.

I care about the taste not the presentation.

Oh man....so sorry.

While it could be worse, I'm not sure how.
Glad someone got the plate.
