DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Decided to treat myself to an early father's day present and upgraded my F1TV subscription. Now on Sunday I'll be able to watch the race... and Darcy won't have to hold it all in until he bursts.
It's always a good situation when "looking out for the welfare of others" can be used in one way or another to help justify any type of personal upgrade.

Nicely done sir. 👍

Happy Friday. Managed to work 3 days this week. Now that I'm the only PRN staff, I get all the hours I want to work.

The house is now on the market. Already have cars slowing down in front of the house to get the realtor number. Not much progress on the new house, although the fireplace is installed. It's going to be a tension filled 2 months.

Have a great day fellas, may your day be a bucket of churros with extra dipping sauce.

Yum!!! Churros!

My wife said the same thing last time we moved. She said they'll have to carry her out of this house. So I anticipate being forced to move in another few years.

I guess that's possible. DW never liked this house we were in. I liked it, even moreso because it was paid off. Neither one of us are happy moving.

Anyway, anyone got big fathers day plans this weekend? My oldest want me to come get her Saturday so I can take her to lunch... About par for the course; and youngest and I are going to spend Sunday cooking together and building her catapult.

I plan to go out and shoot some stuff. Building a catapult sounds cool.

They offered me access to that actually.
Its not so much a road as it is a helicopter.
But now that's forcing me to chose between either that or a mega-yacht.
Just can't swing both.

Decisions, decisions...

I'd go for the yacht. Then, you would be Captain Rob or Captain Stats, whichever you prefer.

Mine said something similar. Keep in mind, we've moved probably 10 times in 34 years. The military will do that.

She said if we move again, we're selling EVERYTHING in the house as well.

When she said that, my immediate thought was maybe all YOUR stuff, but not mine. :lmao:

Morning, Gents! Happy Weekend! Woohoo!!!!! Well, as anticipated yesterday was...slow. The other front desk person looked at me when I came in and said, "Well you're going to be bored today." I said, "I brought a book." And then both laughed. I wound up working on an on going project that, surprisingly, kept me busy all day. Now I'm on weekend mode and that means that I have gardening to do. Oh, mowed the lawn Thursday after work, which led to cleaning and organizing half the garage. The other half will just have to wait when I decide what I want to do with the rest of the junk in the garage. Never ending, is it?

Wow! You do have decision. Personally I'd choose the mega-yacht.

Right. That's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one standing in Spice Road Cafe after multiple Sangrias gets to go treasure hunting with Aladdin. Though on second thought, let's leave it to CCT to handle. After the events of this week, he's obviously into poking around dusty caverns in search of ancient relics.

Have a great weekend chaps.

:lmao:

Always nice to treat yourself. And the fact that you are thinking of Darcy is also a nice touch. :thumbsup2

Whoo! Hoo! I can smell the weekend from here. Wrapped up all my outside work this morning before it broke 100 outside and back at the office taking care of emails before I can take off.
May not be back in till Monday so you boys take care, and be safe out there.

Kind of wish it were near, but not quite, that hot here. It'd give me an excuse to hit the beach.

Morning, Gents! I hope everyone had a good weekend and Father's Day! I had a great Father's Day! Got one of those pole chain saws, while that means more work for me, it was something I really needed, and wanted. Standing at the edge of the roof, and leaning forward over the edge of said roof, with one of those extended pole saws to saw limbs on the tree was getting, well....not safe. So this was a wonderful gift. Found that I'm at one location all week, which makes it nice. Well, that's all I've got. Have a good days, guys!

I got me an air fryer. Looking forward to trying it out. I know a few of you swear by them.

Also watched both the Indy race and the F1 race. Both came right down to the last couple of laps.

Afternoon guys from a still soggy London. Had a relatively boozy weekend, decided on Sunday the only way to get over my heinous hangover was to power through it, so watched the cubs game with the kids and a couple of bourbons and ginger beer.
I had quite a busy afternoon, and yet one by one I have seen the meetings get moved or cancelled, which is a lovely thing to see.

Looks like the Habs got punished for not taking their chances last night, hey ho, onto the next game.

Have a good one fellas.

Nice. We got one a few months ago and have really been enjoying it.

Treating a hangover with bourbon? Hey, whatever works.

Afternoon all from a atop Currie Mtn on a hot day. Steaks are marinating and the shrimp is thawing so dinner is taken care of. Now just watching some football.

Won our football game last night but then came home to watch the Habs lose in OT. Referees have been terrible in this series but last night was really bad. Now it is mostly bad for both teams but there is one guy that seems to have a hate on for the Habs. Sad to see he's from around these parts, think he may be moving home to ref some peewee hockey after last night.

Indy was still much more exciting than the F1 race. French GP did have some close racing but really not any on track passing. Those Indy boys were banging around like NASCAR,

And spent Sunday welding up a catapult with my youngest.
That's the most fatheriest fathering I've ever heard of!
And topped it all off with bacon wrapped braut's, hot wings, and smoked saurkraut.
holy smokes. :faint:

Any tips? I haven't even taken it out of the box yet.

I didn't get to watch it, but checked in at end of regulation and then checked a couple minutes later and... dang.

Even though they beat my team, I'm rooting for them.

Of course it was. It always is.

The end with Verstappen catching and then not catching and then catching and finally passing Hamilton was good, though.

::yes::

Hi Men,
Been extremely busy with life. Can’t believe my baby girl is now 3 months old. Been back at work since 20th of May and been SLAMMED. Most days after work I get home and work around the farm till 9 or 10 pm when the darkness wins. Hope all is well! Happy Belated Fathers Day to all you Dads.
