DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning, Gents! It's gonna be an interesting day here in the house. DD has a snow day today because of a storm that's either a continuation from yesterday's snow fall, which has been either taking a break, or the clouds are being exchanged for new snow producing clouds, in which case this will be a whole new storm. Either way the DD's home from school. This means lots of laughter and screaming as she runs around the house playing Tag with our dog, Buddy the Wonder Dog...and yes, he does play along.

So much you wouldn't believe it is we told you.

I don't believe it and I was here.

I never believe anything here anyway. So that’s par for the course.

It is difficult to believe at times.

Me too. But, I have past photos of my kids in different events. I enjoy seeing them. That's about it.

I also have a photography page where I exhibit some of my work, don't stay on top of it as much as I'd like, but I do have one.

Big tech can shut down communication they don't like, yet, still can't figure out how to track or stop the dissemination of child pornography. You're only targeted if a threat, and I know I'm not a threat.

Exactly.

I recently watched a Netflix documentary on the Challenger disaster. Both fascinating and infuriating.
Pretty sure I watched the same one or at least maybe similar...

Just as with current events, if the people in power actually gave a d**n about facts and the people it affected, maybe they'd spend less time trying to make themselves look good and doing things they know are going to hurt people.

Morning from a sunny but cool Westfield NB. Finishing up on the bathroom addition today, just need to hook up the faucets, sink drain and toilet. Happy Friday. :drinking1

I watch this a few weeks ago found it very interesting.

Morning all.

Not much going on with me other than running around with errands.
My oldest DD on the other hand...

She's got about a couple months left of her student teaching to get her education degree. A week ago, a school called the dean of the university and begged him for someone. DD's name came up as their top pick. So... in the space of a week, she had two interviews for permanent or term positions with two other school divisions, one telling her they wanted her so badly that not only could she pick which grade she wanted but which classroom she wanted to teach it in. Today is her last day student teaching and Monday she will be excused from any more student teaching, reports, etc and will be considered graduated and starts teaching. Bit of a whirlwind and the kid is pretty overwhelmed by everything.

Proud papa time, though.

::yes:: That was a darned good one. And a horrible one, if you know what I mean.
I tried, but couldn't stick with it.
I had it on in the background and only really paid attention during the last half hour when all the action happened.

Congrats to your daughter. Not many new teachers get the opportunity to make decisions like that.

So sad that they cared more about falling behind schedule than the engineers begging them not to launch. The minute safety is not the highest priority....you're lost.

Wow, that's awesome! Congratulations!

Hopefully she was allowed to choose her salary too.

That was a darned good one. And a horrible one, if you know what I mean.

Precisely what I thought, too. Those poor people.

Can't believe it's Friday. What a week. Going home for some bourbon. I forgot how hard it was to work a 40 hour week

30 minutes isn't close enough????
That's with DW driving. More like 20 for me. ;)

The Mrs wants to smell and or see the ocean from the condo, or at least be able to walk to it.

Congrats to your dd.

Proud Dad moment this morning. Hearing my 3 year old son walk around the house singing Zip-a-dee-do-dah to the best of his ability. DisDad win!

That's a classic song.

Thats it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. In light of the new movie, last one standing in Leaping Libations for Old fashioneds gets to take Cruella home. And let me tell ya, she loves a bit of doggy.

Have a great weekend chaps.

(Sorry Darcy)

I'll take Cruella as long as I get to drink at Leaping Libations today. I'll take one for the team.

That is fantastic!!! Tell Elle I said congratulations and I'm proud of/for her.

Proud papa time, though
Understood and rightly so!

Well said.

So sad that they cared more about falling behind schedule than the engineers begging them not to launch. The minute safety is not the highest priority....you're lost.

Technically I can smell it when the wind is blowing West and you *could* walk...although a long walk.
Can't see it. Maybe build a tower a couple hundred feet tall and you could. :lmao:

Thanks guys. I passed your well wishes on and she says "Thanks to everyone and a special thanks to Doc" (Whom she's met.)
