DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Slow day today. The Pirate Princess went for a run and workout at the fitness center. Found out last night that our passes started the holiday blackout period today so no parks. So, we will miss Holiday Illuminations. Feel bad about that but what the heck, we got plenty of use out of the tickets. Next year was supposed to be light on Disney vacations but still decided to renew the passes for $197 each. Even if we just use them for marathon week, it would be worth it. I am sure a trip or two will still be in the cards.

Later today we are headed to the AMC at Downtown Disney to see the latest Hobbit movie. The new restaurant at the Boardwalk, Trattoria al Forno opened today and we snagged a reservation for dinner tonight. I'll post what I think of the place.

A couple of pics from last night's fireworks.

Would have been happy to take her to dinner. Would have to be a place with no knives of any kind though. :scared1: Chuck-e cheese? :confused3

Nothing to worry about. If you fed her, she would call a truce.

Nice pictures CJ!

Looking forward to the restaurant review. How are crowds this week? Just curious because a couple of friends are down there for the first time ever right now.

Popular or pity - either way - I got invited to another group's holiday potluck. It's good to be me.

You pay for my residence in Florida and I'll pay for your passes. :lmao:

Makers does not normally help with tennis elbow, tends more to cause it. Hope you feel better.

Makers causes tennis elbow? I must be doing something wrong.

I'd be careful posting these type of pics.... someone is always trying to top the last one. You know where that got us last time. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
.

Like some naked idiot taking a picture in the snow? :lmao:

Actually that was from wunderground.com I am a windows phone guy.

That makes four of us with windowphones. ::yes::

Good to have you back, David!

All I could think of was David being revived successfully when I read your post.

Just wanted to post some good news.
FIL (wining the battle against Leukemia) was running a fever and admitted to the hospital. Had been lethargic and experiencing severe swelling. Was in for 1.5 days they got some things diagnosed and he's been home feeling MUCH better and sleeping (a rarity). You can sense his mood change too. Very happy to see it.

And my daughter's BFF who had surgery on her mouth is returning to school tomorrow. No solid foods for another week but she seems to be recovering.

Thanks for the prayers, men! I will certainly pay them forward.

Evening Dads! Wanted to visit the new thread.

Trying to wrap things up for the week. The Mrs. has a doctor appointment in the big city tomorrow. We actually had something work out well. This was just a new patient establishment type thing but since she came down with bronchitis after the flu last week we will actually get something useful out of it! Avoid the flu if you can as well. We all had it and it convinced me to get the flu shot in the future.

After that we are off to the "vacation" home for 10 days and the only internet access I will have will be at the public library or McDonalds. So Merry Christmas and may have a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year filled with all things Disney. While I haven't been around much in the last few months I do appreciate the thoughts and prayers and the texts of encouragement. I don't care what your wives say, you aren't a bad bunch of guys.

Just got back from dinner at Trattoria. Without going into details which I will do sometime later, this was one of the best meals I have had at Disney. Unbelievably good and you are getting that from a Pisan who knows Italian. Hopefully this is not an opening day thing.

Good evening gentlemen,

It's too hard to multi quote on the phone so I'll just cover all the bases. Stretch has knocked out all the vehicles in his set. I'll post photos when he's done.

This year we were supposed to spend DW's birthday at Disneyland. That didn't happen and her sister was being a pain. So she was bummed. That's why I went over the top. Next year should be DLR so no let down for a couple of years.

CJ, keep the pics coming. Ron, get good use out of those passes.

Good Morning Gents!! DD has her Winter Party and today is her last day for 2 weeks

Morning Guys,

last few hours in the office until the new year! We are locking the doors around noon and having a potluck. I will be eating fast and heading out to the last basketball tournament of the year for Declan and I.

Have a great day!
