DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Hope you find out something positive on the position, good luck.

Thanks

I think I'm in the wrong line of work. Got my quote yesterday for two men and a truck for my move.

It's insane the amount they charge, huh?

Good luck.

Thanks

Morning, boys.
Supposed to be cold the next few days but warm this afternoon so took the bike to work.
Bit chilly ride (0C/32F), but not bad. The ride's only 30 minutes. I wouldn't want to do a couple hours at that temp, though.

Was listening to the weather coming into work this morning, and heard that some parts of the country's supposed to get snow. Crazy for this time of year.

You know... if they don't even bother interviewing you... just bite your tongue and get back to work. When you finish your course and apply elsewhere. Just walk away.
I would give them as much consideration as they gave you.

Yep. Just bite my tongue and go with the flow.

So you're happy? Wishing you could get out and move some boxes? That what you mean?

He could ask a couple of good ol' boys with a truck and pay them with beer. Probably have that place moved in no time.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Like fall weather here this week and forecasted into the weekend as well. 80's this past weekend just to tease us but looking at lows this weekend in the 30's.
Proud Dad of DD today for National Nurses Day. Hope all are doing well and keeping safe. Have a good one Dads!

WDW top list for today is ....................... Top 5 things you are looking most forward to when you next get to visit DaWorld

For the record on top 3 attractions that I don't like. This is tough as I enjoy IASW, Country Bears, ROL and The American Adventure but here goes...........
  1. Primeval Whirl
  2. TriceraTop Spin
  3. Fossil Fun Games
This entire half a$$ area of a carnival theme needs to be bulldozed, wiped from our memories and any photographic history deleted or burned. This area of shame and cheapness, not to mention a complete opposite to Walt's vision and the type of garbage that drove him to want to create a theme park in the first place, needs a complete scrape and rebuild.

We have a little COVID experiment here. KY has extended lockdowns, opening May 11 at 25% capacity with next phase at May 20. Meanwhile, TN on our southern border, re-opened Monday, specifically Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, two tourist areas. Dollywood theme park hasn't opened yet. It will be interesting to compare the numbers in two weeks.
I think that's what everyone/everywhere is doing.
Cautious opening of things and seeing what the result is before doing more... or less.

Adding insult to the already injurious COVID.
He could ask a couple of good ol' boys with a truck and pay them with beer. Probably have that place moved in no time.
Problem solved!

It's difficult to tell how you really feel about this area. Can you maybe expand on that a bit?

:rolleyes1
Top 5 things you are looking most forward to when you next get to visit DaWorld
1. Going there
2. Letting the stress melt off.
3. Seeing the castle, knowing I'm "home"
4. Just taking it all in, in it's entirety. Probably just wander around with a big grin on my face.
5. Hopefully meeting friends there and/or along the way.

I couldn't agree with you more about the whole Dinoland area - totally out of place and unneeded.

Top 5 things I wanna do when I get to DaWorld:

1. Dawa Ride Repeat
2. Pretzel and Beer in Germany
3. Knob Creek Disney Select - as much as I can get!
4. Eat a Mickey Bar!
5. Just stop and sit....and just take it all in and truly appreciate being there!

Thanks for the link. DW has some recipe similar to that. I don't like it.
Sorry to hear that. To me, the crust is simply a vehicle to get the pizza to my mouth although I do enjoy a good crust also. It's not the best, but it gets the sauce, meats and cheese where it needs to go. ;)

My youngest dd didn't care for the end either. I like the Star Wars movies for the jedi/ force/ light saber battles and outer space fight scenes. I can really care less about who someone is related to, Sith vs Jedi prophesies, etc. I couldn't make thru the Han Solo movie. Rouge 1 was tolerable, and the Vader ending redeemed it.
I hated TFA. Just a re-hash of ANH with different characters. I really enjoyed Rogue 1, though. Thought I wouldn't, but really did. Some of the best battle scenes (IMHO). Originally, I thought why do we need a movie to find out how they got the plans wasn't necessary, but I thought it was well done.

So many things I enjoy there...limit to 5, eh?

Hearing welcome home from a CM.
Watching the CMs...seeing how happy they'll be to be back to work/some semblance of normal.
Sneaking into the Beach club pool (there is a way). No, not really...won't do this. Love the pool, but usually when I'm there, just passing by.
Brat in Germany. May or may not say to heck with keto and get a pretzel also.
Buzz Light Year, Wedway, lather, rinse, repeat.
Walking down main st and just soaking up the sights and sounds and smells.

Okay fellas, sorry in advance for the venting, but then again, we can share here.

As Norm would say, first world problems, but still aggravating.

So, I go to the company I have my auto insurance with (USAA). Go online and get a quote for homeowners insurance. Can I get the flood insurance online? Nooooooo! That would be too easy. Have to call them. After verifying myself 20 times over, they start asking me the EXACT same questions as on the homeowners I did online. Can't they already use what's been input? Noooo! That would be too easy. They then also ask me for an elevation certificate. I don't even know what that is, much less have one. They also ask if the hot water heater is on the floor or elevated? I don't have a clue! They ask if the AC is on the floor or elevated. This one, I at least had an idea...I remember it being about waist high, so it's elevated. They ask me if the garage has flood vents? Huh? What? ***? (or for DDCC guys, VDF?) Yeah, when I was looking at the house, that's for sure what I was looking for....does the garage have flood vents. Un f*ing believable. I have to give them pictures of the house, but can't use the ones on realtor site. Noooo! That would be too easy!

Buying a house is supposed to be fun, but this flood insurance idiocy has made it anything but. I'm not a violent person, but I think if I could have reached the person on the other end, well...I could possibly have a new house I'd be going to.

To quote Scar...I'm surrounded by idiots.

Okay, vent over......for now.

Evening boys from over here. 830 - 430 on conference calls getting the new store in New York into line. Then mowed the grass (the guys are doing a green pickup tomorrow) and cut the boys hair (not with the lawn mower, although that could have been quicker). Now sitting down with a cheeky Magnum lolly. Rumours are swirling that we are going to start re-introducing society from Monday. We are all going out on our front drives for a drink on Friday night to celebrate 75 years of VE day, so that could be cool. Then maybe the postponed social distance Pizza party with next door on Saturday.

Hey Mike, you should do a top five of best places to nap in the World.
In Top 10 Stacey's welcoming arms.
Hall of Presidents
American Adventure (if you started drinking in Mexico)
Beach at the Poly
I fell asleep in the lobby of the Contemporary once, but that may have been a mix of jetlag and Tequila.

To me, the crust is simply a vehicle to get the pizza to my mouth although I do enjoy a good crust also.
IMHO an amazing base is the heart of any good pizza, with a slightly charred crust and a couple of cheeky gluten bubbles.
Yep, and now there's giant killer wasps from Japan in the US
Well, that's less than ideal. As soon as you are let outside, the murder hornets are coming for ya.
Top 5 things you are looking most forward to when you next get to visit DaWorld
Meeting some certain fellas ;););)
Doing the Marathon (registration is tomorrow)
The smell at the Poly
The town square
Tambu Lounge for a Lapu Lapu

Get off the fence mate. tell us what you really think.
Proud Dad of DD today for National Nurses Day
Good on the young'un there mate, give her a thumbs up from us.
:thumbsup2
I was happy with the way the saga ended.
In my general meh-ness about Star Wars, I thought it was pretty good.
The butler did it?
Called it. I can't believe he offed her because she was pregnant with his love child.

Have a good evening chaps.

Happy VE Day in advance in case I forget. Grandpa fought in WWII so references to it make me think of him.

"In Top 10 Stacey's welcoming arms." - well played one of the best answers I've seen on our little top lists to date followed up closely by "Meeting some certain fellas"

Sorry about the rant............ on DinoCarnival but that area to me is just so non-Disney

Thanks for the props on DD, I don't think I could do what she does being a NICU Nurse.

Rant away my friend.
My niece is a midwife, yep, they all put it all on line.
I'll raise one to your grandpa and mine on Friday.

Buying a house is supposed to be fun,
We've moved 3 times mate, and its always been a nightmare. Either buyers or sellers think they are Gordon Gekko or some dum dum bureaucrat gets involved. Its a right royal pain in the bum but once you are in you soon forget.

Good news: Neighbor pruned a big tree with the power saw and I got lots of wood for my firepit.

Bad news: Governor has directed schools to develop 3 schedules to open in July, August, or Septemberm. He wants to open the schools early if possible in July so he can shut everything down before the election, er um, next wave predicted to hit right before the election.

Worse news: Disneyland has July 1 open date. No word on WDW.

Sorry to hear it. You think they would try to make it easier for a quote, but try the old bait n switch when you go to buy. Thankfully, that just sounds like normal incompetence as opposed to COVID influenced incompetence.

Government: Wear a mask. It protects you.
People: Can we re-open small business, wear masks, and get back to work.
Government: No masks don't protect you.
