Lucky man! The opposite is happening with me. DW is a girl scout co-leader. I am at the grocery store from 8:30-9:30, then get home and she goes a GS camp meeting. Next thing I know our phone is ringing off the hook about play dates and such. Before I know it, I'm taking one DD to a play date swim, then my youngest wants to invite a friend over, so I pick them up. And DW is at a cross fit meeting (following the GS meeting) with my niece from 12:30-3PM and left me laundry instructions. :confused3
Your wife is doing cross fit? If I had more time and fewer birthdays under my belt I'd love to try that.
Chris did more in one morning than I try to do in one year. Enjoy the freedom. :lmao:

Things slowed down considerably after that post. I couldn't stay awake during Sorcerer's Stone, ate half a box of cookies and the Cubs are losing. But I've got hamburger helper on the stove so I've got that going for me.

Hamburger helper? C'mon man!

Thanks guys, DD and I got home about 30 min. I'm exhausted and hopefully can get a nap in, I kindof booked this trip forgetting I had a Glo Run 5K tonight with a friend tonight, so not looking forward to this.

Good luck on the race. Hopefully, that runner's high will get you thru the tiredness.

Evening Gents!

Got back from our cruise last night around 10, had a quick sleep and headed for Moncton for Declan's soccer game today. 1-1 draw and another 2 hour drive and we are finally home to stay...for awhile.

Had a great time on the cruise and thanks again Jim for the great seats at the Red Sox game; we all had a great time at the game.

We did manage to get out of Boston before Hurricane Arthur hit the area. Our second day in Bermuda we found out it did hit here on July 5th and there are still people around us without power. Luckily for us we had no real damage other than a couple of trees that need to be cleaned up.

Hope everyone is well and did I miss anything?

Bad news- hamburger helper is not as good as I remember. More bad news- I have leftovers. Even more bad news- I have two more boxes. Worst news- after I filled up on the stuff, my neighbor called me and said he cooked too many bratwurst and offered me a couple but I was too full to partake.

My review on the second Harry Potter movie- not as good as the first. 6 more to go. No spoilers please.

Looked like Jim hooked up Darcy with sweet tickets at Fenway Park last night. Darcy and his wife were front-and-center behind home plate, visible on TV with every pitch. I'll have to tell him not to pick his nose so much. :thumbsup2

I will have to remember that for the next time, you could have sent me a text!

It was a great game!!

There sure were a lot of runs scored and the hits kept coming and coming.

Saw Darcy on FB but not Jim. Those were great tickets.

Unfortunately Jim couldn't make it and Paul is afraid of Canadians so he couldn't come either. :rotfl:

Great game and seen a rarity - Cubs rocking another team :confused3

They hit the Red Sox pitchers that night.

Here they are over David Ortiz's head. Darcy on the right, and DeclansMom on the left...

Thanks for the picture Brian. Luckily there was an empty seat next to mine. I had to move over to see around that huge guy in front of me.

Back from our Long Island baseball trip. Missed a bunch more days and will go back and try to catch up later. Team went 1-2 and did not qualify for the finals. rained all day Saturday and ended up playing only 3 games instead of 4. The bright spot was Evan pitched all 5 inning of the game we won. A slaughter rule victory 11-1 after the 5 innings.

I met Darcy and his friends on their Boston stop over before the cruise. Here are a couple pics. We are eating at Dicks Last Resort in Fanueil Hall. Not sure how they knew Darcy was from Canada, but his hat said "I love Justin Beiber".:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

And I got a gift from the Great North (Thanks again Darcy!):

Had pancakes this morning. MMMMMmmmmmmm! :thumbsup2 DD is looking up recipes to make while home this summer. Should be a tasty few weeks.

Prayers to those in need, Congratulations where deserved and hope everyone had a great 4th of July holiday. I'm off to get some work done and try to catch up by September.

And didn't your hat say something about your thong? :rotfl2:

Enjoyed meeting up with you and your DD Jim. Sorry you couldn't make the game with us but it beating the Sox took may have been too much for you. I hate to see a grown man cry, Adam was bad enough but those seats helped him get over the loss.

Glad your enjoying the maple syrup and that your DS had a good pitching weekend.

She had a Groupon. Otherwise it's too expensive. We've both been doing Beachbody workouts. I've slowed down from those, but only b\c I've been doing nothing but outdoor projects following dinner until it's too dark to see any more! We're having a big cookout mid_August and I have to get things done before my knee surgery.

That's unfortunate, but self-induced. When my wife and\or kids are gone, I get a big 'ol steak and cook it to my liking since I don't have to worry about my DW yapping in my ear about salmonella, trichinosis or some other food sickness!

Thanks. I'm probably one of the few parents who realizes the odds of pro athletics for a child, much less a girl. She was happy and I was proud of her. Being the overall winner was the icing on that cake.
Ditto. Every game that I was coaching my DD in baseball, I'd hear some of these parents ranting. What they don't understand is that they are going to ruin the sports for their kids. I'm ultra competitive, but all I care about is my kids listening to coaches, following the rules and trying their hardest. I won't tolerate laziness or ignorance.

Yeah, I'm thinking about getting my chauffeur's CDL so I can start billing someone other than myself for all the driving. :drive:
Good idea. And it would look good on a resume for when we apply for the boat captain and safari driver CM jobs in a few years.

I hope everyone had a great\safe Saturday. I'm whooped and turning in. Despite my midday unplanned role as Mr. Mom, I turned in a respectable performance re: my yard work. I got the front yard cut, tilled and weeded the entire side of my house, removed a bunch of sod that's going to be replaced with topsoil\flowers, bought 3 shrubs (2 rhododendron and a hydrangea and was able to plant 2/3 of them. I'll sleep well tonight!

My review on the second Harry Potter movie- not as good as the first. 6 more to go. No spoilers please.
Voldemort is Harry's dad. C'mon, you saw it coming.:wizard:

Morning guys. Trip to the mall was a success, everyone behaved. The kids LOVED the Disney store!! There was way more Star Wars merchandise than I expected. The girls got shirts and the boys got some new PJ's. All we got at the Lego store were the mini figurines you can build. Both DS's have b-days coming up, so I used the trip mainly as recon.

Good morning, David. Glad things went well. The kids are going to remember that day I suspect. I loved legos as a kid and I now love putting them together with my DDs.

Good morning all. My mom took took the dds shopping yesterday for early back to school and dropped some coin on them. I am looking forward to the World Cup today.

That is lots of bad news there. Maybe you can use the other other two boxes for target shooting and eat the bratwursts today. Spoiler alert- there is some new Harry Potter ride at Universal now. :lmao:

I didn't think about the boat captain resume. That is a good idea.

Glad that it was a successful trip.

.

Paul is afraid of Kentuckians jumping into his car as well. Glad you made it home. How was the cruise?

Was looking at the video of our trip to the UK the other night and we decided to have a full English breakfast this morning. Fried eggs, sausages, potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans and scones.

I know it isn't Hamburger Helper but what can you do

My plate, notice there are no beans

Her plate with the beans but the sausage is fake. The scones came from Publix.

Fat and happy, I am watching the Tour de France and maybe a nap in a bit. World Cup and then the remaining Harry Potter movies tonight. Going to be a good day today.

Morning guys. Trip to the mall was a success, everyone behaved...

Does that include Dad? Glad you had a good time.

...I am looking forward to the World Cup today...

Have a favorite in the match?

Facetimed my Brit friend yesterday to talk about his upcoming trip. He is at the factory in Cologne this weekend and the Germans are ready to party. It is about 4:00 there now and I am sure most of them are feeling no pain. To make it interesting we made a $5 wager. So Go Argentina.

We had a pretty good time but of the 3 cruise lines that we have sailed on, NCL is in position 3. There was nothing major wrong but it wasn't what our other cruises have been either.

I think we would still cruise with them again but if DS was with us, we would definitely need a bigger cabin. Our cabin was bigger than the other couples with us but I wouldn't want to put 3 people in it.

Morning....Hope things are well with everyone, I need to go back and catch up the past few days. Prayers, congrats and welcomes to all applicable. Enjoying a weekend off, spent yesterday checking out the work Mom ordered for her family headstone (added dad and her brother to it) and did the general running around. Got dinner from one of Dad's favorite places, a local Fish and Chip place. Today's a rainy day, so will just relax, watch a movie, play some cribbage.

Sunday morning Ownage.

Fake sausage? Broken egg hold in the frying pan? :scared1:

Like pro sports here, I don't have a local team or player to cheer for, so I'm just hoping for a good game. I think Germany may be the better team, but Argentica has Messi and it's hard to pick against him. Even in soccer, that one superstar can make the difference.

Glad to hear it. I haven't ruled out a cruise. DCL is expensive, but gets a lot of good reviews. I also don't like the idea of wearing pants to dinner, but that may just be at most all of them.

There were only a couple of nights in two of the restaurants that they asked people to wear pants on NCL and DCL had no problem with shorts in their main dining rooms. CCL did have a dress code for the main dining rooms.

I think I speak for most of the dads here when I say that we think you should wear pants to dinner and anywhere else that you go.:rotfl2:

Hey guys I am almost about to leave..... I will ask one more time do any of the dads live in the norfolk area?

I can't believe no one has proposed this yet. How about a DisDad Ninja Warrior at one of these DDCs. One of the obstacles would have to involve beer.

HAHAHAH That would be a sight to see drunken dads trying to do obstacles.

A great World Cup match. Messi had some opportunities, but Germany played better as a team.

You've heard of KYians not wearing shoes? I'm going to start a new thing.

::yes::
