My last duty this afternoon before I head out of the office for the weekend was to sign a new contract. Our new customer is.......wait for it........wait for it.........IMAX! Yup, the one that does the giant movies. :cool1::cool1: Of course I asked what benefits I get out of it and the answer was...."you get to tell people you do business with IMAX".:headache::mad: I would have thought a lifetime movie pass was a minimum. Oh well. Have a good weekend guys.

Happy Friday Gentlemen.

Went to the orthopedic surgeon today and got the news I didn't want to hear. Pretty sure my left ACL is in tatters. We didn't do an MRI to verify that, but he said there "is a lot of sloppiness in there." Easter Sunday, while playing some pick up soccer with my son and nephews, I planted to kick the ball, heard a POP in my knee and crumpled to the ground. It's been in pain ever since. It's finally gotten to the point where I can sort-of kind-of gimp around half way decently. Doc wants to do a month or so of Physical Therapy to see if I can strengthen my knee up enough to avoid surgery and the 7-9 month rehab that comes with it.

(Edit - Dang-I'm-getting-old ownage. Yippie.)

Ouch. I'm still rehabbing my knee from 2 years ago. I'm praying you can get away with therapy and n surgery.

Which once again supports my philosophy of no exercise/ supreme laziness. I do hope the pain subsides and it gets better. I am sitting in car rider line at school, waiting to take my youngest to doctor as she has been complaining about her heel and limping.

Might I suggest stretching the foot. DD had that a while back and we started stretching and it went away. Most likely Plantfasitis (sp?:confused3) or whatever they call it. Have her sit on the floor, leg straight out. Keep her heel on the floor and push her toes back towards her. Give it a shot.

I wonder if my insurance will cover an Iron Man suit? :scratchin

Only if you have Obamacare and your not in the top 10%.

Wow that really stinks. You really need to get a six million dollar man soundboard app to us when your walking around now.

You might also wanted to work on your story a little bit. Soccer involves kicking and kicking is like Karate which is kind of like what Ninja's do. Soccer also involves a ball that moves, which is a sort of a projectile and pirates use projectile balls. Therefore you were in an epic battle with Pirates and Ninjas and managed to escape after sacrificing your knee.

Been a while since I fired up D-COT and listened to some Epcot entrance music. :music: Sure has made the day go by a little faster.
I love the epcot entry music. I really should be listening to that now.

Only a million?!? Lee Majors got $6 million in 1974. Adjusted for inflation, I should be the 28.9 million Dollar Rafiki!

It would be cheaper to surgically attach you to a segway.

I'll get on that and report back. :thumbsup2 Anyone else going to be there in a week? :confused3 No trips on page 1, but it would be great to meet some other dads. I'm hoping someone can restore my faith in this group after getting to know the rest of you so well... ;)
No but I'm thinking about taking DD to Boston. You can show us the town in october

Yah but you’re still younger than me.
Sorry to hear this. Having spent time in casts and boots, may I say I hope PT is all that is needed.
7-9 months of rehab would come under the heading of: Bad.

You might be my nemesis, but bravo, sir.

 Andy, you’re obviously not feeling well.
You either need to see a doctor of get the back to Disney pronto.

But before ypu take it back…
Thank you sir.

It's an admirable philosophy. And we'd all love to be paid for doing something we love to do. But I'd also argue that you shouldn't feel regret about doing whatever you needed to do in order to provide for your wife and son. This is also praise-worthy, and that kind of sacrifice for your family should not be taken lightly. :thumbsup2

Sometimes the grass really is greener somewhere else, but the truth is all work is hard and trying at times. Mostly because every job requires you to deal with other people. :rotfl:

‘Cause… that’s what you do. :thumbsup2

I do believe that’s a Man Law.
And you’re correct; the world would certainly be an easier place to get along in if it weren’t for all the other people in it
:rotfl:

Hope that turns out not to be serious.
Nothing hurts like watching your kids hurt.

I wish I had selected a better career path, but I'm happy with all the non work time I get with the family, and enough money to wrangle a yearly trip to WDW.

You do seem to have done well in selecting your trade-offs.

Dang… so close and still so far.
Maybe you can get just a couple of pass out them. Write it into the contract if you can.

:lmao: :rotfl2:

Now that makes for quite the visual

Ouch - hope she feels better soon. If not, I'll see if I can get a bionic heel for her.

A 2-for-1 deal on bionic limbs would be pretty sweet.

In all seriousness, hope she feels better soon as well, Norm.

Thanks guys. She has Sever's disease, although not as bad as her sister. Rest, pain meds, ice, & stretching.

I want this procedure. Where do I sign up?
