Possibly. Just remember - schools located in warm areas tend to have better baseball/softball programs. Steer them towards schools in Arizona and Florida. Then move there so you can pay in-state tuition. The sacrifices we make for our kids....

Just be careful... you don't want them to be too good. They might get a scholarship, which would kill your in state tuition theory.

I think the school people here are getting a little nuts. We have a forecast that calls for 6 inches of snow and then rain later this afternoon. School was cancelled at 6 am and there is almost no snow falling as I type. DW just laughed and rolled back over when the radio made the announcement.

Jumping the gun much? So far, so good here. Rain, allegedly freezing rain, slowly getting rid of the crap out there. Be nice to see the almost literal glaciers left from December's Ice Storm start to shrink.

Rain here this morning, cloudy and supposed to get a little warm up today. Maybe we can get all the snow and ice to melt finally. The rain worked pretty well. It is supposed to get colder again, but luckily stay above freezing. Stay safe up there guys. Spring is coming, I promise.

The school's here have been a little quick on calling off or having delayed openings also, since the beginning of the year there has only been 1 week so far that has not had a snow day or a delay due to snow (or slight chance of snow)

There must have been a lawsuit somewhere that the school's a so quick to cancel or delay

I heard that they are talking about another storm sometime next week

The only thing keeping me going with all these snow storms is 33 days till WDW

Thursday ownage. I've already lost the billion bracket, but I really never had a chance to begin with. Now, the only bracket challenge that really counts - DisDad Bracket.

Norm, the problem is the ballpark's location is in a neighborhood so no open parking lots. They do have a couple of garages. You can get a spot on the roof so you can pull out your lawn chair and get some sun. If you offer to buy a cheap season ticket, they may throw in year round parking.

Looks like my plan may be coming together". Now, about that commute .....

Morning guys. We had a strange occurrence again yesterday in Northern Indiana. A large yellow sphere was shining in the sky. It wasn't in Indy so it must be some weird space phenomenon, lol

All clear here. Looks the the snow as rightfully returned to Canada.

Spent a lot of time at the dentist today. Last night I was biting into a tortilla chip and one of my teeth broke. Yup, just broke. Had to have it fixed this morning. Took about an hour. Then DD had to have 2 teeth pulled at the recommendation of our orthopedist. I was cringing when the time to pay came and surprisingly it was only about $140 for both of us. I guess we have pretty good insurance. Still hurts a little, but at least I'll be able to chew solid food again tomorrow at lunch. DD says it doesn't hurt and was very brave. Even went in alone to have it done.

I think you might be right, that is very irresponsible. Perhaps everyone in the community should submit expenses to cover the losses incurred, send a message

That is pretty poor service. Is there a tenants group that could push for compensation or something?

Totally agree. That is horrible customer service. I'd understand if it was maybe something that couldn't be fixed right away, but at least communicate that with everyone!!! I own my own home and I know if my power went out on a Sunday, and it was a problem on my line that the power company can't touch, I'd be on the phone with any electrician I could find to get them out there without worrying about paying for Sunday hours.


Great idea. I'm sure they'd just laugh and drop it in the trash can, but maybe if enough people tried to submit those expenses that might at least be a wake up call.

maybe y’all could shame them into some kind of penance. I know our local televised news programs just love to do stories about how some business or scam-business has ripped-off or unfairly taken advantage some member of the general public. Outrage makes for good copy. Call up your local news outlet and see if they wouldn’t be interested in a story about how a local “slum-lord” has callously victimized our veterans and even took food out of the mouths of young children.

Yikes. As much as being a homeowner and having that responsibility fall on myself if something like that happens, I think I'd rather have that than have to wait around for someone who is less motivated to do it for me.

That sucks man. I'd be looking at a new place too.

If I thought it would do any good I would. But sadly I don't think anything I do will do anything.... As it stands I will plan to move when I can and be happy to be gone... Sadly they know with this area there are 3 people who will need a house and would be willing to take my house when I move out so I really am just a name to a house.

Oldest dd has her Spring dance performance for the schools today. I am working a half day to provide transportation. The show is open to the public tomorrow night. She doesn't seem quite as excited. Maybe that is a good sign she is wanting to stop dance and I can stop spending money.
