Stumbled upon this thread earlier today, and now I'm wondering where the last 2 1/2 hours went and why I'm craving bacon...

Real name is Nate, I'm a father of three(DD 4, DS 2, DD 1). Kids are young and I'm a firm believer in DIS Dad Club Criteria 44, hook 'em young, hook 'em for life. I've been a lurker of DISboards for years, but mostly stuck to DL forums as I'm from Utah, and visit DL on a yearly basis, but have not been to WDW in 20 years.

I visited DL a few times as a kid w/the one trip to WDW, but wasn't fully converted to Waltism until my first DD came along. A switch flipped and we've been back every years since her 1st birthday. In the 360 days I'm not in DL, I'm usually researching the parks, learning about Walt and watching Disney movies with the kiddos.

I'm a Windows SA, that's an absolute sports fanatic. Love the Utah Jazz, 49ers and the SF Giants.

Look forward to getting to know all of you and sharing in some Disney Bromance!

I think the worst part of your story was the Calliou part. DD used to watch that when she was young then started getting fresh. I CANNOT stand that show! :badpc:

There was a picture floating around on facebook that said something like, "It could be worse, you could be Calliou's parents." :lmao:

:welcome: Nate! Randall will be around and give you your official DDC number!

We don't have too many west coast dads here nor too many that frequent DL. It will be great hearing your insight and expertise on DL! :thumbsup2

Luckily I was able to outrace the storm and arrived in Miami around noon. On the way up I drove 1,300 miles without stoping except for short cat naps in the car. On the way back it was around 1,000 miles before I stopped in Daytona. The Holiday Inn had a convention of Terminix people and it was the start of Bike Week. Interesting night at the bar. A gathering of paunchy, middle aged, white guys, half in green polo shirts and kaki pants, the other half in leather jackets. Interesting and very different conversations.

The kid flies home late Thursday and I am trying to set up an appointment with a specialist for Friday. They are sure her issues are neurological in nature and one of the tests will be a spinal tap. Tough week and I am beat. Decided to make meatloaf and roasted potatoes for dinner tonight. Probably only the second home cooked meal I had in three weeks.

Glad you made is home safely. Continued prayer for the pirate:princess:.

Speaking of new things, an avatar switch to pumba? What is it really that much rum?

Actually it was that much and more. I'm just playing with you guys to see who would notice. I will be adding a new pic as an avatar soon. Just been too lazy to do it.

Well today made for an interesting day. An elderly woman either forgot which was the brakes and which is the gas or which way reverse and forward are, but the bottom line was she drove into the wall of the store. Didn't go right through, but did some structural damage to the wall and windows etc. No one was hurt but one staff member was really lucky not to get hit. Only stock lost was some delisted stock on the counter to be marked down. There are pics on my FB page if anyone wants to see the damage. Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

:drive: Glad no one was hurt.

You had me at elderly woman and drive.:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Morning guys.

Quick mid week vacation check in. Looks like we are heading for the dark side today and DS and his uncle have decided that we are headed to Islands of Adventure. Should be fun.

Hope you are all doing ok, avoiding the snow and keeping warm. Thoughts and prayers to those who need them and congrats to all for making in to March Madness.

Have fun storming the castle that Harry built.

Good morning gents! Got business travel Thurs & Fri so all have a great rest of the week.

Travel safe. We'll keep the light on for ya.

Ummmmm….. where is everyone? :confused3

Present and accounted for. :thumbsup2

Trying to put the house back together after DW went on her semiannual cooking binge making prepackaged meals for lunch. Sunday afternoon I started getting the chills. I still went into work figuring a double dose of dayquill would hold me. I got on the Early Out list anyways. About half way through the night full blown flu symptoms kick in. I worked an extra 5 minutes even though I was second on the list. I had the chills before I walked outside. The 100 yard walk to my vehicle in -25 degrees plus a wind had my teeth chattering for over two hours after I got home. When I got home DW tells me the water heater went out. I had to deal with the plumber while trying not to collapse from the hot flashes and chills. Then Tuesday morning I was greeted to a honey do list a mile long and a kitchen full of dishes and two kids who took a double dose of their Calliou pills. Needless to say I have not been a happy camper the last 72 hours.

CJ, I hope Crash gets well soon. Truly scary thing to deal with.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Thanks for letting me vent.

I hope the week gets better. We watched Calliou exactly once. Then I banned it from the television. It may be one of the only times I used that parent filter.:lmao::lmao:

Welcome to the nuthouse Nate! :welcome:

Keep an eye out for Randall. He'll give you your member #. Watch out for pirates requesting bacon and dole whips. He is supposed to send them out to us all, but always blames Stitch for stealing them.

I can't believe this thread is still going. I thought for sure it would be filled.

Anyways,

Well, haven't been on in a bit. Lots going on.
I didn't get the QA manager position for those who didn't know, and they still have yet to fill it. (has been open since Jan 3rd)
My helper is still here. They have been trying to replace her since about the same time.

Just found out they finally hired a new manager that will start on the 17th.
Also found out they finally hired someone to replace my helper. Don't know his start date.
only one quirk.
I have now decided to move on also. I put in my two weeks on monday.
I will be going back to CNC Machining. The pay is about the same, benefits are the same but cheaper, distance is a bit more to drive, will be going to 2nd shift but will probably only be working 48 hours per week instead of the 61+ i do currently.

I haven't been on here much as of late because of all the changes and time I have had to focus on keeping up along with assisting with the boss' old job. My wife had surgery last thursday also. So she is laid up for several weeks now on top of it.

so busy here. But hopeful that in the end everything works out.

Ummmmm….. where is everyone? :confused3

A sunny day and after the last snow everyone decided they need to think about apple grafting, asparagus, production, collard production, high tunnels, and whatever else has eaten into my day. I actually thought I might get to work on some presentations and reports today. :sad2:

Welcome to the funny farm. :welcome:

We're planning on going to DLR in December if the water heater debacle didn't finally sink the budget. I'd love to pick your brain some time.
There was a picture floating around on facebook that said something like, "It could be worse, you could be Calliou's parents." :lmao:
I saw it. Very true
:rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl:

Think I'd just go slit my wrists. :faint:
:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:
Very tempting I tell you

I've tried more than once to figure the bloody thing out for that very reason.

Thanks for the pick me up guys. I needed it.

Welcome Nate!

:scared: Miserable few days for you. Hope things improve.

Actually off today, so naturally snuck a nap in while the house was quiet.

Nothing better than a nap, except a nap preceded by rum and followed by bacon.

Good morning gents! Got business travel Thurs & Fri so all have a great rest of the week.

Safe travels!

Been a while since I've been in these parts of the woods. Hope everyone is doing well! Can't Spring get here any faster??

They keep changing things here at work and it is therefore creating more actual work, resulting in less Dis time. :badpc:
Time to look for a new, high-pay, low effort job. If you find one, let me know.

How many inches of snow you got up there now?? :scared: I see you sent some ice and snow our way this week. Thanks a lot. :lmao:

it's slowly melting....but we probably still have 5-6 inches on the ground. I think we'll have the tall snow piles in parking lots till April.

And the ice and snow your way is Brian's fault! :thumbsup2
