Hope everyone is staying warm.
It is a confortable 68 here in Austin.

Wife and I are headed out the door now to go run(walk) a 5K with our DD. It is the Foam Glow 5K, apparently they shoot glow in the dark foam at you during the race. But there is an after party with beer so she talked me into it.

They are already closing schools - FOR MONDAY. There is no snow at all and it is Saturday? . That be KY edumacation.

Shoot. We will miss you. We arrive at wdw on 3-29-14. We leave for the cruise on the Dream on 4-3-14.

Back from the hoops games. Missed the Colts/Chiefs game.

DD had 7 points on the way to a 31-2 victory. Not to be outdone, DS had 13 points to take down his opponent 59-7. Both teams were not very strong and we had to back off a lot in the second halves. Good way to start after being off for two weeks. As they say……DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE!

DD had 7 points on the way to a 31-2 victory. Not to be outdone, DS had 13 points to take down his opponent 59-7. Both teams were not very strong and we had to back off a lot in the second halves. Good way to start after being off for two weeks. As they say……DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE!

Congrats to the kids on the wins today. DS and his team won both games today as well. He did ok point wise (6 and 8) but was huge on defense as always. Now if he could just learn what that little square on the backboard was for.

Nashville schools closed schools for Tuesday already due to cold temps but our county has not done anything yet. Great comeback by Colts - WOW

Sitting at the airport waiting on stand by. Flight was at 8:15 am, got here at 6:45. Over 3 hour wait to check in. Booked 8:15 pm.

Good job on the basketball win, looking at the scores it took me a minute to figure out what sport that was. LOL


Well we didn't finish the race tonight. Got about half way thru any my wife tripped on a crack in the pavement and ate it. Tore up her knee pretty bad and had to have the EMT dive her back to the aid station.



We technically complete the race in the time we set ourself, but we got back to the finish line in way under the time so that counts; so we got our reward. Beer and Wings.

Schooling continues at the (vacation) home academy.

They may also get to do some schooling in Florida though not at DIS. The in-laws rented a place on St. George Island for the month of February so it is just food and gas down and back. Lasts years trip fell through because of unexpected expenses but we may make it this year. The family needs it. DIS will have to be postponed until 2015. I have a roof that needs replacing but a tree really should come down first and I got the quote on it...$2300. I liked trees until I became a homeowner.

Off to church and then I hit the road for 3 1/2 days of meetings. It is our annual state growers meeting and our pre-registration looks great, but I hope the weather doesn't have an impact. Typically bad weather means good attendance, but this is beyond bad weather.

Don't forget to check on your elderly neighbors and animals. This cold snap will be one for the record books.

We are just waiting for DD to wake up so DW can take her on a grocery run so she does not have to back out in this crazy weather coming. Been watching the forecast to make sure DD gets on the road and back to school before the cold / snow hits and luckily it's not supposed to get bad until this evening. Those of ya up north / Midwest stay safe and all have a good Sunday.

Hi from WDW. Well the 8:15 got delayed until something like 10 pm, but we were able to get seats on the 7:35. Bumpy ride here but we did see Wishes from the plane with all the walking from gate to gate, my hip started to complain. When got to Magical Express I had to sit down. As I was sitting there, two small kids came up to me with big smiles and asked if I was Santa Claus. Made my day! Of course I said no., but we all rode a Magical minivan and when they got off, I wished them well and said, "Ho Ho Ho".

Bumpy ride here but we did see Wishes from the plane with all the walking from gate to gate, my hip started to complain. When got to Magical Express I had to sit down. As I was sitting there, two small kids came up to me with big smiles and asked if I was Santa Claus. Made my day! Of course I said no., but we all rode a Magical minivan and when they got off, I wished them well and said, "Ho Ho Ho".

Glad that you were able to finally get there Randall. Congratulations on being able wake up in Disney's World! You should have told those kids that Santa was your nemesis.

Some great games. Although, if the Chiefs had won that game, then you might not be as happy.

Day 17

Well, my last day home from work. This has been really enjoyable and I'm already planning a week off in February. Went to Mass last night and it was packed. Friends posted pictures to FB showing empty shelves at the grocery store. I sure hope the storm is more hype than substance. But, another day off work tomorrow will be nice as well.

Afternoon / good evening guys. Saw Saving Mr Banks with the family today - great movie. Hanging in there waiting for this arctic weather to hit next couple of days and watching football. DD heads back to school in the morning, was great having her back home and gonna miss her. Stay warm and safe all.
