Good morning Dads! Good day of football unless you are a Bears fan *¬%#¥$ !! Or for that matter a Dolphins, Cowboys or Ravens fan. Lots of coaches getting the axe already this morning. All have a good week.

As a Bills fan it was a good day, because the season is finally over.

Morning everyone. Lazy day in Sarnia today prepping to head home this afternoon. Got to work tomorrow for my one shift this week. Saw the Hobbit last night, really enjoyed it, right to the end cliffhanger for movie #3. Man got to wait a year! Even started talking Disney again last night, first time I've thought of it since Dad passed. Mind you, we are still a year and a half away from going.

Take some time to relax and recover. You have been through a lot.

...Sounds so exciting.

That's me, Mr Excitement. :lmao: My plan for New Year's Eve is to try to get to bed by 11:00 and get some extra sleep before SWMBO and the tax deductions return.

If I could get a $4 Million salary to only call one running play in the 4th quarter of a game, then I would gladly change jobs to NFL coach..
If you need an assistant I'll work for 1/3 of it.

‘Morning all…
Finally checking back in; been just a might busy the last several days.
More work than parting unfortunately, but being employed beats the alternative....

::yes::

Morning fellas. Second to last day in the department that I've been in for my entire 9.5 years here. It's a little bittersweet as my current boss is the guy who hired me and has been a good mentor and friend. It will probably take me both days just to clean out my office. Oh well, on to bigger and better things to expand my horizons and it's not like I'm leaving the company.

Hope everyone had a good holiday season, whatever you may have been celebrating and a Happy New Year to all!

Best wishes in the department and with the new opportunities. I think everyone should have to move offices every 10 years just to get rid of some of the junk that accumulates.

Dolphins will win today only to lose badly in the first round of the playoffs. Probably the same fate as the Pats.

Uuummmm, Kinda awkward huh?:rotfl2::lmao:

Morning guys,

We went to see Saving Mr. Banks last night. Really liked the movie, Emma Thompson should get an Oscar nomination. Funny at times and others, very dramatic. Nothing much going on here today other than prep for New Years and beginning to get ready for the trip. I may go see the Hobbit later today. Life sucks. Hope everyone has a good day.

Well, make sure you take the time to pack away the Dolphins memorabilia before you head out to the movies today. I'll have to decide what to do next weekend while the Patriots are on the bye week.

I watched that Bears game…..How do you give up a 50 yard TD on 4th down? I feel for you. Of course the other 3 I expected to lose as Romo was out and the others were not playing well heading in. There's always next year.

Day 11

It truly has been wonderful to have all these days off work. It is a cold day, but the weather is clear. Nothing on the schedule today either. I may stage another epic nerf gun battle with the dds. Hope all have a great day.

The life of a State Employee.:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Because 3 DBs played man coverage and the 4th played zone.

That is State University Employee to you. :lmao:

I'll be in early as well. Too old to stay out late and party.

‘My personal Christmas gift haul included few gift cards and a coffee mug that that’s pretty much it.
But I’m OK with that, it’s about getting everyone together more than spending a pile on money.

Oddly… we are.
As a fan of the Dolphins and Panthers, I can say that one of those teams did as expected.

The other one has got everyone around here completely confused. They’re not supposed to win ball games much less conference titles. A first round bye… what the heck is that? In two week I guess we’ll see if was all just a misunderstanding. We’re so unused to victories, that we’re not completely sure how to deal with such.

My gift haul included Crown Royal, Hennessy, & wine. I'm happy. Panthers and Newton are playing well. Should be some good games.

Congratultions.

Evening guys.

I spent most of the day shoveling, terrible year for the snowblower to stop working.

Left Maine this morning, we got about 8 inches last night up there. Nothing back home, yet. Sounds like a big storm coming in a few days. :faint:

Last report of the year done.:cool1: i averaged 16 ounces of strawberries per plant which is enough to make growers money. My goal is to get it to 1.5 pounds per plant before I retire (if I ever can).

Never finished my Powerpoints but will work on them tomorrow. A person can only stand so much excitement in one day.

Make sure to stock up on bread, eggs and milk. That is what they do here. Must be planning on French Toast in case the power goes out :confused3

Could be nothing… could be the BIG one. I don't care if it is the BIG one. I just hope Juliana has school at least 1 day this week. She is getting stir crazy.

Maybe you can answer this: Why are strawberry prices through the roof right now?

I've only stocked up on scotch so far. I'll get to the others if there's time... ;)
Good call. :thumbsup2

I only had scotch once and found I liked it.

There were a few issues with plant quality early in the season but in mid-December, the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported flats of eight 1-pound clamshells from central Florida selling for $24.90, compared to $24.90-26.90 in early December. Similar to last season when the USDA in early December reported those same clamshells selling for $22.90-24.90.

Prices should remain in the $20s until larger volume begins in January.

Just hold off on the strawberry daiquiris.

So what does that equate for a pint? I feel they are price gouging up here. Asking $4.99-$5.99 a pint. I refuse to pay that much for crappy quality. I want to make my homemade Tonga toast and I need strawberries for the compote!

You're on the right track. :thumbsup2

You really track strawberry prices? Not judging, but I wouldn't know a good price from a rip-off if you paid me...

I do 75% of the grocery shopping. So yea I do know the prices. Don't judge me! :lmao:

:lmao: Not judging! I just have no idea. I'm the same way with milk; not sure what prices are good or not, so I just get the one with the coolest label... The lesson as always; I suck at grocery shopping.

See you are smart… now the wife doesn't send you grocery shopping because you'll send 5x as much as she would. So you get to sit home and drink your scotch. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

My choice would be bourbon but I think you are ready for whatever nature throws at you.

I only had scotch once in college and found that after a while it induced projectile regurgitation and the worst hangover of my life. Cannot even stand the smell of the stuff now.

To add to the strawberry research statistics, the Pirate Princess went to a u-pick-em lot in Homestead and paid $4.00 for a quart. Smallish berries mostly but they were tasty when dipped in the chocolate fondue.

I bet the quality was good. You should see the crap they try to sell up here. :sad2:

Tim, I do all of the grocery shopping for us as well. One, I'm way faster at it then DW - I can leave and be back within an hour. Second, I stick to the list 99% of the time. I like knowing where the money is going. I think we wasted a crap load buying stupid stuff at the store.
