Back from the dentist. Two extractions in prep for pugs. Two more to go after the New Year. Not in pain. Much. No dribbling down the chin when I drink. Much. Got home, yelled at the dogs (I swear they were laughing at me) and took a nap.

Great dinner last night with Brian. Lots of talk about the families and the coming holidays. Always good to see him. We went to an Indian restaurant and I celebrated the pre dental visit with a steak. Done perfectly and tender. I did break a man law however and forgot to take a pic.

I was greeted with this on my doorstep when I got home. Felt a little better.

Morning.. Randall, I love the opening pic. Good choice!

Dad update, specialist was a no-show. Hopefully today I guess. He got a tv, so he's calmed down a bit. Food quote involved a rice & bean salad he was given, he asked for a knife for it. Orderly asked why he would need a knife for it? Dad:" If it starts to move I want to stab it"

Don't make me laugh, it hurts. Your dad has a great sense of humor, continued prayers.

Alcohol and percocet go great together, right Randall?

Quit holding out on me Randall, send those pretty pills stat.

Ok so I finally made it back to the boards... boy did I miss a lot. I am back to work from vacation. Well physically at least I’m working on the whole mentally thing. I already miss the World. I did however realize how different it is to tour with an 8 month old and man did we get a lot of comments about him. You might be able to guess why but maybe not.

Cute pictures, love the glasses. Sounds like a great time.

What is it that prompts Disney to send the Magic Bands? Is it an onsite reservation? Reservation + park passes? I still have enough days on my Undercover Tourist paper tickets to get me through my next two visits so it may be a while before I see those.

I believe when you book a room and link your tickets on the app or website that combination prompts the bands. You also have to go on the app or the website to personalize them. We had ours waiting at POR because they won't ship international yet. Otherwise you will get the standard grey bands upon check in.

Thanks. Any idea when you can link them? I've already got a reservation for August. It's probably 180 days but I think someone told me it was just 60.

We came back at the end of Oct. and after we signed up on the app we waited to be invited to be part of the testing. They have not completely rolled out the entire system. But at this point it was about 60 days but by the time your trip comes around things may change. Once signed up you can then link ADRs and Fastpasses.
I have to say for our trip in Oct we really enjoyed using the bands, the app worked great for us and was even able to set up Fastpasses the morning of or the night before.

On the my Disney experience site there is a menu item on the right "link existing reservations & tickets". Here is where you can link your ticket numbers to your family members and your trip. I had to do this with 5 day hoppers we got from DVC as part of a point package. You also have to have your family and friend list set-up first so you can link tickets to your family members. For those thinking this is bit much - I am with you but hopefully in the years to come this will all be much easier after all of the initial set-ups and program adjustments that are sure to come.

Cute family. Glad you had a good time.
What kind of stretches do you do for that?
This is a family board.

I now have 57 and my cork board is getting pretty full I actually got to trade with “scoop” that was cool.

That is cool.

Good to hear he can keep his sense of humor.

G'mornin gents.

Had a late night at the office. I was asked a couple of weeks ago to move to another cube and with a hectic schedule and traveling last week, I have not had the time during the day to get it done. Got all of my Disney stuff setup so that it will still feel like home. I'm hoping that the new neighborhood that I'm in will work out well (It's only about 100 feet from my old cube).

Did you remember the red stapler? Sorry to hear about your friend.

I'm sure I've built up the surprise factor in my mind beyond what it will actually deliver. There's something to be said for having the kids in on it all along. They can help plan and be excited with us for months leading up to the trip. That's how I'll do the next one.

It was a little early in the morning for them, so maybe that was the reason. It was still fun to try the surprise them.

We're talking about doing the DLR trip as a surprise for Chaos and Mayhem. Right now everything is still in the zygote stage for that trip.

Late getting home, I decided to visit Pops tonight myself. Most of the family was there today, I told him I waited for the riff-raff to leave before showing up (okay I was working)

Turns out the doctor/specialist, is MY doctor, who helped me out last year, so that was interesting.

Turns out yes, the cancer is still there on the lungs and trying to spread, but the big mess showing up on xrays and CT scans etc is scarring on the lungs from the chemo. The new chemo that was delayed would have made things far worse. They are looking into a new strategy. Tomorrow he will get scoped etc down the throat like I did last year. Dad is just happy they are doing something. No food jokes though, wasn;t feeling spectacular today. Also checking for Norwalk Virus too, just in case.

Second funeral to attend in the past month tonight. Last time, it was a close coworker's mother that was killed in a car crash. Tonight it is another close coworker who's wife died very suddenly on Saturday. This one has really bothered me because they had plans of retiring early next year and doing some traveling together. Hard to know what to say to comfort a friend whose life has been turned completely around.

Me too! :thumbsup2

Prayers....that is horrible......

I wanted to Thank and give credit for the theme of this thread.

The title came from something said by Adam (SouthernTaz) and the Picture was found and posted by Brent (BigTikiDaddy).

Thank you guys! :worship:

Good morning Dads. Hoping to spread a little joy this morning - IASW DL done up for Christmas. http://s1274.photobucket.com/user/d...isneyland-christmas-0081_zpse2ca45a1.jpg.html We are thinking about Disney for Christmas / New Years next year and since we have done WDW for this are thinking about DL. For those that have not been to DL, a huge the benefit is just walking to the parks to and from hotel. None of the crowds and time consumption of waiting associated with WDW transportation.
It's fantastic! I saw do it.
