‘Morning all…
Would one of y’all pass the bacon down to this end of the table? Thanks.

Latest update...they are not sure the issues yet so will keep him there overnight. He's apparently in the student care ward, so lots of young ones buzzing about, but are very attentive. Dad has a young traniee nurse assigned to him, much to his delight. They will bring in a lung specialist to see if he can get to the bottom of it.

Young trainees… good for the spirit.
Keep us updated on his progress and we’ll keep him in our thoughts.

SWMBO and I were given a gift that will enable us to visit the world sooner than we had anticipated and were looking at Spring of 2015 for a 20th anniversary present, but given the way life has been going we may push it up a bit and try to visit in October 2014. We can call it her 48th BDay present and it would be just a bit early from my 50th and DS's 13th. I would ask your opinion but knowing you gentlemen the standard reply would be visit soon and often. :rotfl:

Didn’t get the chance to offer condolences on your family’s loss. Was sorry to hear about that.
But this is certainly better news. Congrats on the gift, and sooner is better than later.
(often is also an excellent choice)

Asked Dad tonight if they are feeding him "Yeah, it was meatloaf night. I don't think they quite killed the camel they put into it"
:lmao:

By the by, I decided the statue of limitations for raiding the kid's halloween bags has passed (they still have lots left). I think the brats already cleaned out the Reese's though. :headache:
No fools they :rotfl2:

I still have dibs on Castle Anthrax. My quest happily ends there.

Oh, let me have just a little bit of peril!

It's December and suckitis usually hits Romo & Cowboys. Speaking of teams that suck, my fantasy team won the Beverly Cup.
:worried: Sad but true. It's also true of November, October and portions of September. But hey, they OWN April.

So there is that.

OH, and speaking of happy news, with all the rain the burn ban is apparently lifted...no I didn't hear it on TV, but the wave of Artillery fire on Fort Hood at 4:00 AM this morning was all the announcement we needed.

A week from right now I will be somewhere around Frontierland and Liberty Square- about an hour from my first dole whip of the day. Just wanted everyone to know.

Good morning Dads! No school today for DS due to some light ice and a dusting of snow though the old man had to risk it to get to work. In the spirit of the season to all of the Dads today

Tuesday Morning Ownage for Team Sparrow!

Hello dads. Beautiful cold day in Illinois today :)

Cold and overcast in MA, supposed to get another inch or two of snow to go along with the inch or so from yesterday. Otherwise, cold and pretty normal for around here. Supposed to get warm again and then cold and then&.. Well you know, it's New England. It's pretty much anything goes.

Continued prayers for your dad Brent.

Late to the party, but still checking in.

Well, at least you found it. The mutton was a little different (Served last night for dinner). So in order of favorite in the house was Beef, Pork, Mutton. Thanks again.

Look great Darcy! We have an artificial tree again this year (started when I blew out the knee in 2011). Thinking a real one next year though. Finished decorating last night. Will get pics up soon of inside and out.

I like those kind of gifts. Feel free to send some this way. Your getting my opinion anyway. We would always choose October for the festivities and weather.

Yes sir it is a balsam fir. Cut it ourselves.

It's a Canadian tree. Don't get too close to it, to might take a dive looking for a penalty.:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:

By the by, I decided the statue of limitations for raiding the kid's halloween bags has passed (they still have lots left). I think the brats already cleaned out the Reese's though. :headache:

We always give them about a week to eat the favorites and then toss the rest. Impressive that there is still some left after a month.

Good morning all. I see Mr. Romo looked at his calendar and decided to hit the suck button. The NFC North is turning into quite an entertaining division this year :thumbsup2

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: That seems to be the pattern. Maybe he's too busy hitting those holiday sales to focus on practice.:rolleyes1

A week from right now I will be somewhere around Frontierland and Liberty Square- about an hour from my first dole whip of the day. Just wanted everyone to know.

:thumbsup2+1

:thumbsup2 Being in the single digits is about the most fun you can have without actually being there.

Being in the single digits with the kids still clueless is also pretty interesting!

Funny story about surprising our kids...

We were driving down when the kids were much younger and we told them we were going to Great Wolf Lodge for the indoor waterpark. Well, when we got to Niagara Falls I pretended to be lost and "accidentally" got on the bridge to the US. As we waiting in line to cross we sprung it on them. "We are going to Disneywrorld!!!"
Both started crying because they wanted to go to the waterpark instead. Both of their tunes changed as we got to about Virginia but definitely not the reaction we were expecting. :lmao:

I'm sure your kids will be very excited, I think it was the last min switcharoo ours didn't like.

We surprised them at Christmas another time and they were elated, more of the reaction we had hoped for.
Tears of joy this time. :lmao:

In the interest of keeping my cub scout den busy and active during our meetings I've been playing around with a bunch of science experiments. I'm not a real fan of craft stuff that everyone seems to assume I'm doing, so I wanted to break into something else for the boys.

After a number of things with limited success on the boys' side (my demonstrations always worked just fine). I finally found one that was rather foolproof and all the kids seemed to love it!

Figured I'd share these with you dads in case anyone wanted to do something kinda fun with a bit of a holiday theme. So... here's my DS8's Magic Crystal Tree.

(sorry I forgot to take picture of the start)

12 hours after starting.

Now a week later the crystals are just starting to break off. Still think it'll look good for another week, plus I have all the supplies if he wants to make another real quick. Next time I think I'll make sure it can reach the top though...

We were afraid of the last minute surprise leading to a meltdown so we told them half the story. They know they're getting up early on Saturday to drive to Florida to see grandparents. What they don't know is that it will be at WDW. When they see the Disney clothes laid out for them that morning they'll figure it out. Plus I may be blasting the Haunted Mansion soundtrack at 4 am just to make sure they get the message. Son will be smiling. Oldest daughter will cry tears of joy, youngest daughter will cry because she doesn't get to come until Monday with mom.

Meeting Brian for dinner tonight in Coral Gables. Looking forward to it. Might be the last solid food for a couple of days. Yep, round 2 of the dentist tomorrow. Is it wrong when I am talking to the receptionist on the phone while she is looking at what I am getting done and she goes, "Oooh, Owww, Really?"

Some decorating was done this evening.

Nice. A full tree that looks great. To answer your question about the fish pics, only one was with the Princess the others were on the same dive with my buddy from the UK.

Being in the single digits with the kids still clueless is also pretty interesting!

That is going to be fun. Video of all the tears?

I think the surprise factor is what threw them. I think knowing they are going to Florida already will make the WDW part amazing.

Nice touch with the HM music....love it!!

I'm no doctor....but....to me, not a good sign. Lol

Good luck with everything, prayers for a speedy recovery.

We got them all the way into the terminal at the airport when we did it. DD was excited. DS was a little angry. His initial response was "what the crap". I think his planning to go to school that day. In case you couldn't tell, he doesn't deal with change well. We did have a great time once we hit the plane.

Have a great dinner! Remember, pics or it didn't happen.

Not sure I'd go back if the receptionist were saying that while putting in my info. :(:headache: Best of luck on the dental work. Tooth pain #%$@^#%. Randall has some good meds if you want to head to MD and hang out.

Afternoon gentlemen. The kids have cabin fever already. I think tonight is an express Star Wars Marathon night (just the battles). Also, I've decided I don't like the new Mickey cartoons. I'm not a fan of the animation style or the stories.

Sounds like fun. I recommend a liquid diet of beer and more beer.

Good luck if you still decide to use this dentist after that.
