I wanna be a celebrity like The Cheetah. Anyone wanna do the Dopey Challenge in 2016? There must have been some 40+ Dopeys in there. As long as we pace ourselves, I don't think it's that crazy an idea. We'll blow through those races like a Florida Toll Booth!!:thumbsup2

If I can get my knee healed up and drop a few lbs, it is on my bucket list!

I've been enjoying your recaps of the weekend, CJ (especially Crash begging for mercy in the ice bath:rotfl2:), but something has been bothering me.

In every one of her finish line photos, she's standing there smiling...or waving....or giving a thumbs up...

In every one of my finish line photos - from every race I've done - I'm drenched in sweat, gasping for air, and occasionally clutching my chest.

I just don't think she's doing it right.:sad2:

CJ thanks again for the new batch of pictures, and everyone else from the DDC2, it was great to live vicariously through you all...:thumbsup2

Happy Friday night!

What a week it's been since returning from DDCC2. I'm really glad I took Monday off to recover before heading back to work. The earlier start time added in with the longer hours I've been working have wiped me out. It is quite an adjustment going into an actual management job rather than being in the professional job class. So far it has been a lot thrown at me in a short time frame but I'm starting to put the pieces together. Still a lot to learn but I've been able to identify the things that I will need to focus on improving to make people notice. I have already been able to use my previous expertise to make an immediate impact.

But enough with that, let's talk Disney. I had a great time at DDCC2. Drinking around the world with Carl and Paul on Thursday; Biergarten; HS with Aaron, Travis, Adam, Michael and crew on Friday; running on Saturday; punishing the shrimp supply at Ohana; and capping it off with the live podcast - what a great time! (I even enjoyed my Sunday of touring alone at MK and EP and then getting a final goodbye with Paul, Carl, Randall, and Jodi at MCO). I hope I'll be able to make it again next year. If you haven't done it you should. It's worth it.

Some friends of ours approached us this week about going in their DVC points at the beginning of October for a week so the wheels are spinning on that trip. We haven't 100% committed but it looks like we will pull the trigger. They have already booked at OKW and are going to try for a grand villa at VGF when the 7 month window opens. That would be awesome even though I know it's a long shot.

Hope everyone is well. My board time will probably be limited during working hours now but I intend to check in during evenings when I have the chance.

Morning all. So nice to see all of the details and photos from the DDC and hear about the trial and tribulations of parenting a marathon runner by CJ! I found some time last night to go through a good deal of the pages I didn't have a chance to read. The DDC looked like a blast for everyone that went.

I'm in full throttle planning stages for our next trip in November. We also have 2 other families that we are friends with going at the same time. Our girls are looking forward tot hat even more. The one family's daughter is my 9yo best friend and the other family's daughter is my 6yo best friend.

The biggest internal debate right now is about dining. We have always done the DDP but now that my oldest will be 10, it's making me do a lot more analysis. Since we are DVC members, we can get the Tables In Wonderland card and it doesn't look like there are any black out dates during our stay. It's simply outside of my comfort zone since we haven't used it.

Since the account is in my name, and even though I registered her separately, my name was on the bib. It was a screw up in the system. Andy is her nickname from long ago, I am probably one of the few people that don't use it.

Andy Pirate Princess Crash Cheetah. Those are a lot of nicknames to fit on the back of a jersey. :lmao:

Hey Dads,
So it started with a simple message to my friend Lori - we need to do these 30-day fitness challenges. So we decided to do the 30-day Plank Challenge.
Sean

Did you get a beer drinking challenge?

If I can get my knee healed up and drop a few lbs, it is on my bucket list!

I'm getting close to the status of the mayor on Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. I'll be using my belly to drive my power scooter.

CJ and I will both be there towards the end of the first week in October. I have not stayed in a GV, but that would be really cool. Having the 1 BR and all the space is nice. The points at VGF are ridiculously high. I too think it would be cool to stay there, and I may try for a couple nights one trip.

We bad the same apprehension as you, moving over from meal plans. But, the TiW card is great and no hassles at all. We bought ours over at Marketplace DTD when we arrive that first day, although, you can get them other places. Since we drive down and arrive at 7:00 AM, we eat breakfast and then go to DTD and get the card. So, we did miss a chance to use it for our arrival breakfast.

Once you go to the restaurants, we were mostly always asked right away when we sat down if we were on a meal plan. We said TiW. Sometimes they would want to see it and sometimes they would just wait for end of meal. But, it was no hassle at all. The only thing you have to make sure is they bring your card back, which they have to bring your credit card back. And, whoever has their name on the card has to be the one who uses it, although they are sometimes lax in that.

Even better, we will get three trips worth of use this trip with the Spring Break trip in there. We ate our normal way at WDW on the last trip, and already paid for the card with what we saved.

I think the bed thingy from Wall-E would be way more comfortable...lol

And about TIW, we used it on a year when we had AP's and thought it was great. I think we are going to avoid the DP next time and use TIW card.

Pics are awesome!! First one is my fav, great work.

Tough matchup on the basketball court today. Team lost 26-22. Both dds played well with 8 and 6 points, but the other team had an excellent player who was just dynamite. Still we almost won the game and I'm proud of my girls making up 2/3 of the team offense.

Thanks Brett, it was a great time. I am not a fan at all of the Dining Plan. Too much focus on food and if you don't do that, you lose money. I use the TIW card which includes beverages. I've never done this but people suggest putting the money you would spend on the DDP on a Gift card so your meals are pre-paid and if you do not use it all on food, you can spend it on other things.

She would need a bigger Jersey. It is funny that her only universally recognized nickname is the one I do not use. For her 16th birthday, I sprung for a weekend for a GV at the Boardwalk with 6 of her friends. Talk about luxurious. One of these days I would like to do it again.

Some pics.

Nice digs.

Very nice pics.

With too much time to wait for the April Spring Break vacation and some news, thought I would make some changes. I booked a 5:50 PM Beaches n Cream ADR as well as changing park days from DHS to Epcot. I was surprised that I was able to get an 8:20 AM ADR at Akershus. So, the new plan is:

Sunday - Arrive @ BCV & 8:45 AM ADR @ Cape May
Monday - 5:50 PM ADR @ Beaches n Cream
Tuesday - Epcot 8:20 AM @ Akershus & 4:30 PM @ Via Napoli
Wednesday - Welcome Home Wednesday followed by ESPN Club
Thursday - 5:40 PM @ Captain's Grille
Friday - Departure

It's only going to be a one park day trip this time. Since we are trying BCV for the first and maybe only time, we figured we would enjoy Stormalong Bay and the rest of the resort. We are also just a short walk away from the Boardwalk, where we can enjoy the evening entertainment.

Pretty nice line up there.

Good call. The boardwalk has plenty entertainment in itself. :thumbsup2

Today is Crash, the Dis Dad Eating Cheetah, Pirate Princess’s 20th birthday. SHE IS NO LONGER A TEENAGER AND CAN NOT USE THAT AS AN EXCUSE! Really proud of the way she has turned out. Birthday celebration will be postponed until tomorrow when she heads into the city with some friends.

Welcome to Championship Sunday! Should be a couple of good games on later today.

We have a middle school basketball tournament to finish off before those games. Playing for 5th today after 2 tough losses yesterday in a very tough pool. We lost the first game by 6 points after trailing by 15 at the half. We took it as a bit of a win given that team by us by 30 on Wednesday night. Overall DS played well but still haven't trouble getting those little bunnies to fall.
