Day 15

I stole this from Scott H on DisDad FB. He suggested this be our new motto, and i'm in complete agreement with that. It also solves that other of issue of waiting to drink until 6:00 PM somewhere because pirates can drink anytime they freakin want.

I know how I'm celebrating this Friday.

and good morning to you to Norm

Good morning!

Had about 6" of snow yesterday and more on the way this weekend. They're talking like these next few days could be some of the most severe winter weather around here since the blizzard of '78. I missed out on that one, but I've seen pictures. Not too excited. :rotfl:

Here's what the temp was driving to work this morning. And they're saying it won't really get cold here until Monday. :scared1: :faint:

We've just about warmed up to that this morning plus we have the wind blowing the snow around. Suppose to stay this way until Sunday or Monday.

Happy Friday Guys, stay safe and warm.

I always thought the rule was 5 pm but I'm with you, matey!

Good morning Dads! Hope all stay safe with this weather. Though not what some of you are dealing with but 14 this morning in Nashville with a forecasted low of 2 on Monday here is nutz! Traveling to Chicago on business nest week so I can enjoy forecasted high of 2. Even though we are from Chicago, I think my blood has thinned since moving south. Again stay warm and safe this weekend.

Anyone else tired of the Taco Bell commercial where a dad is chasing down some punk who was surprised when the girl’s parents came home early? A well played nine iron would wipe that smirk off his face. The premiss is a total fallacy because the kid would not have made it out of the house and final scene would be me digging a hole in the back yard to bury the body.
I'm with ya on this one, not happening as the dude is not getting out of the house let alone with a smile and taco in his hand.

Your problem is you are going West. WDW is South.

.

Wouldn't work at my house. He can't out run a 12ga. If he brings her home late he gets the shell loaded with rock salt, if he sneaks in he gets the buck shot.

I lived in Illinois in '78. As I was only 4 yrs old at the time I don't think I remember that storm but my family still talks about it from time to time. I have vague recollections of snow drifts completely blocking our front door. That may have been '78.

Yep…
That’s just a might on the chilly side.
DW has long let it be known that I cannot under any circumstances move her any farther north than our current location.
That picture is confirmation of the reasons behind this prime directive.

I'll turn in my cheesehead when you join me in an outdoor pool in Florida in January.

By the way...I'm not worried.

Hummm…
I’m interested in seeing CJ’s response to that one.
Even in January, an outdoor pool in the Miami area is fairly tolerable.

MK parade. A short clip of my nephew's band. He plays trombone.

They enjoyed the trip even with the crowds and rain.

Have to wait until I get home for lunch to turn the sound on, but all chances to perform at Disney are a feather in the cap of any young musician. Congrats to the kids and thanks for sharing.

I don’t think I'd consider trading our summer heat and humidity for the winters y’all suffer through.
Nasty stuff…
Pure - T - Nasty.

Yeah, Monday and tuesday could be bad here. I'm stopping on my way home to get a new furnace filter since I know it will be running.....alot Stay warm :thumbsup2

To my northern friends, stay safe and warm.

Major Peanut Butter, Beverly and Tofu here. The van was making funky noises so we took it in. The transmission is eating itself and we need a reconditioned one. It also took the radiator with it. The shower drain was leaking and had to be replaced. To top it off the twins have had a nasty hack since Christmas Day. They were supposed to go to my sister's for a few days and I got a couple days to play FIFA and Civ V. Instead my MIL came down to watch them.

Says the guy who won't go scuba diving if the water drops below 75*
:stir:

Sorry to hear about the Peanut Butter stuff and hope the kids get better soon.

I can and have gone diving in colder temps, but why bother. All I need to do is wait a couple of months and no problem.

I'll turn in my cheesehead when you join me in an outdoor pool in Florida in January.

By the way...I'm not worried.

Bring it. I will be the one in the wet suit.

Disliked that one from the moment I first saw it. I like your scenario better, but if I were you I’d just haul the carcass out into the Glades. Gators gott’a eat too.

Digging a hole is hard work. With all the diving you do, I would suspect you'd have 4 or 5 nice places all picked out where the sea life would completely devour a body in under a week.

Good suggestions and I have easy access to both.

I'm with ya on this one, not happening as the dude is not getting out of the house let alone with a smile and taco in his hand.

Amen brothers.

Geeze... I guess that is another thing to add to the list. I bought an extra infrared electric heater to put in the utility room. There isn't any duct work back there and it gets a little chilly. Gotta keep those pipes warm. :scared1:

Does anyone else find it ironic he he running away with the taco? Didn't he just have a taco in the house? :duck:

All day I've been hearing the worse of all 4 letter words:confused3 SNOW:scared1:, It has been a reality now for a few hours:(, before it started they called off school for tomorrow , I guess if you only went to school one day this week might as well have a 3 day weekend to rest:rolleyes1
At least your kid went to school for one day… mine's been of since Dec 20th. :scared1:

Think I'll set up my outside fan and send all this snow up to Tim
LOL…

We didn't end up with a lot maybe 8'' It's hard to tell with all the drifting.

Andy, I think your temperature sensor is broken. :rolleyes1

Not quite -17 here, but it is cold! Only got about 8 inches of snow though, not too bad.

Stay warm friends. :thumbsup2

No, we live to get drunk in bars. Nice, warm, bars.
Oh, I need to visit sometime. :hyper:

I was waiting on some kind of a comment like that from one of our resident Canadians. :lmao: :rotfl2:

I just wish it wasn't true. I haven't been outside in days.

Hello everyone, funny to hear aboutschool closures, we are still on break

I almost forgot: Got home this afternoon and after clearing round 1 of snow I checked the mail and this arrived.

I guess it's official. Customized bands and just waiting for that 180 day mark in February.

Randall, dates officially changed to 8/20/14 through 8/27/14. HAd to back off a few days due to the school deciding to start before Labor Day.

Okay, I'm quite jealous, except for the school before labour day part.

Andy, there is no proof that I wished ill on anyone that came near my daughter. (Just wait until your Princess grows up) Oh to have the luxury of average and equipment to quickly dig a big hole. I do have an ocean nearby however.

Might need some tips in a few years myself. I think FIL has some things laying around trhat might come in handy.

Looked and sounded great. Played trombone too, although we didn't have marching bands in our area.

I just wish it wasn't true. I haven't been outside in days.

Not going anywhere today at all, although the sun is shining and I can here the telltale sounds of melting, it's still well below zero here. Was out in the worst of it yesterday, going from the science center to the car, and that walk was torture.(granted DW did have to park a distance away)

Thank goodness I have electric heat and I don't have to worry about that…. :sad2: :sad2:

You're right. It is running a bit warm. The bank in town showed -19. :rolleyes1
Yikes. :cool2:

That's about what we got. The MA coast got hammered.
