Hey Dads I'm finally up to speed. My new days off work are Mondays and Tuesdays so I fell a little behind. That and my son got what was going around he projectile vomited on DW.

CJ I hope everything works out with DD.

Over the years, it seems that my minivan has received something of a cult following around here. There were rumors of it being fueled by everything from a Mr. Fusion to a custom methane gas-powered rocket engine. There have been claims that it's acceleration rivaled that of attack aircraft launching off the deck of the USS Carl Vinson. I even recall reading that someone's cousin's best friend's post man heard from his daughter's pre-school teacher that it had supersonic abilities and set several land speed records. The wildest one, of course, was that it was not of materials found on this planet.

Well, I will neither confirm nor deny any of those rumors. I will however, tell you that it's mothership came last week, beckoning it home. At DW's insistence, It has been replaced with a Toyota Highlander.

Now, where'd I put my tools and those old blueprints....

My MIL has a Highlander... Its nice enough.

Stumbled upon this thread earlier today, and now I'm wondering where the last 2 1/2 hours went and why I'm craving bacon...

Real name is Nate, I'm a father of three(DD 4, DS 2, DD 1). Kids are young and I'm a firm believer in DIS Dad Club Criteria 44, hook 'em young, hook 'em for life. I've been a lurker of DISboards for years, but mostly stuck to DL forums as I'm from Utah, and visit DL on a yearly basis, but have not been to WDW in 20 years.

I visited DL a few times as a kid w/the one trip to WDW, but wasn't fully converted to Waltism until my first DD came along. A switch flipped and we've been back every years since her 1st birthday. In the 360 days I'm not in DL, I'm usually researching the parks, learning about Walt and watching Disney movies with the kiddos.

I'm a Windows SA, that's an absolute sports fanatic. Love the Utah Jazz, 49ers and the SF Giants.

Look forward to getting to know all of you and sharing in some Disney Bromance!

Just checking in - wayyyy to much has passed to say that I've "caught up."

CJ, glad to hear that it's not a too-mah. Sending lots of good thoughts and prayers to you and Crash that you're able to get whatever this is figured out soon.

Good Morning.

DS had his first playoff game last night is hoops against my nephews team. We came out and built a 15 point lead right away and then we lost our rhythm. Let the come back and we were down by 8 with 3 minutes left. DS hit a 3, a 2 and 2 foul shots to bring us within one. With 5 seconds left, we were down 2 and other team on the foul line. We got the rebound, and the ball got to DS with 2 seconds left. He hit a 3 point shot from about 6 feet behind the 3 point line for the win with no time left. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

On to round 2.

Congrats to DS. I made so many last second shots in my career - in the driveway shoot-arounds. :lmao:

That's dedication!

Abstinence. Not enough brain cells for anything else.

:

Any amount of vomit is bad, but projectile is even worse. Hope DS is better.

Morning Guys,

I haven't gone back to see what I missed but I do see some comments about Crash. CJ, I hope she is going to be ok.

Brent, congrats on the hitting 5000! We knew you could do it. :thumbsup2

Had a nice day at Islands of Adventure yesterday. Our only mistake was buying the ultimate express pass. There was no line longer than 30 minutes anywhere. In fact, the coasters were pretty much a walk on.

Quiet day today, maybe a Braves game this evening if it doesn't rain.

I, too, am the greatest shooter to ever come out of my driveway :lmao:

‘Morning all…
Recovering from a bit of work induced sleep deprivation combined with the remnants of one right nasty winter cold and the associated meds that I’ve been taking…
Zzzzzzzzz…
whoa, what? Where was I?
Oh yah, something about morning…

- First off, Welcome to our newest member!
Where abouts’ on the Left Coast are you from sir?

- Then, more Prayers for the Pirate Princess and for her beleaguered poppa.
May y’all get all that mess worked out quickly.

- I see where the Mini-Van of Doom has departed the planet and returned home to be with Elvis.
The end of an era there.

- Brent, congrats on the 5K mark. Nice little speech.
Watch out for rouge land yachts crashing through walls.

- Corey… may everyone up there in Ice World get better… quickly… take care sir.
And that goes for everyone else out there suffering from any type of creeping crud or dodging projectile vomiting.
Prayers and healing for you as well.

- Norm, would ya’ mind saying a few prayers for my bad habits as well…
I gave up Lent for Lent a while back. I may give up the notion of not drinking this time around.

- Don! Arron!
Good to hear from ya’.

- Jim… you’ve changed… Quite the metamorphosis moving from cricket to warthog.
Congrats to your boy. That sounds like it was a heck of a game.

Apologies to all that I missed, prayers for those that aren’t already being prayed for (we all need them), and of course…
Bacon and Dole-Whips for all.

Oh, and rum…
Don’t forget the rum.

Trying the exercise in futility known as "catching up"...

Welcome to the nuthouse, Nate!

Andy, less DIS time is unacceptable. You can tell your boss I said so.

Brent congrats on 5,000! That plus $3,000 will get you another trip back to WDW.

I can't believe this thread is still going. I thought for sure it would be filled.

Anyways,

Well, haven't been on in a bit. Lots going on.
I didn't get the QA manager position for those who didn't know, and they still have yet to fill it. (has been open since Jan 3rd)
My helper is still here. They have been trying to replace her since about the same time.

Just found out they finally hired a new manager that will start on the 17th.
Also found out they finally hired someone to replace my helper. Don't know his start date.
only one quirk.
I have now decided to move on also. I put in my two weeks on monday.
I will be going back to CNC Machining. The pay is about the same, benefits are the same but cheaper, distance is a bit more to drive, will be going to 2nd shift but will probably only be working 48 hours per week instead of the 61+ i do currently.

I haven't been on here much as of late because of all the changes and time I have had to focus on keeping up along with assisting with the boss' old job. My wife had surgery last thursday also. So she is laid up for several weeks now on top of it.

so busy here. But hopeful that in the end everything works out.

Hope DW recovers quickly. Good luck with the new job, sounds like you are heading in a good direction.

Been a while since I've been in these parts of the woods. Hope everyone is doing well! Can't Spring get here any faster??

Welcome back, grab a seat.

Well well well, looks like I hit the magic 5000 post here. Just a shout out and a big thank you to you all, especially for the support in the past 4-5 months. While I can no longer have conversations with my Dad, I have 700+ Disdads to help keep me sane. :rotfl2:

I'll raise a glass of beer to you all. Here's to beer, bacon, Dole Whips, and of course, the Most Magical/Happiest Places on Earth. Thanks for putting up with my nonsense. :drinking1

Congrats on the milestone! Nonsense is a qualifying characteristic around here.:lmao::lmao: Here, here!

Yuck... been there, done that, feel bad for anyone else going through it.

Just focus on the positives though. It could have been you on the receiving end of the projectile vomit... :thumbsup2

Have a great time! Caught a Braves game there a few years ago. Great place to watch a game. Even if it is the Braves.

Andy, less DIS time is unacceptable. You can tell your boss I said so.
Yeah... I'll get right on that. :rolleyes1

OK....I've been a part of the site for a little while now and have been a non-participating member of the DDC #702, but I think it is high time I introduced myself and maybe participate with the coolest kids on the forum.

Real Name: George
Location: Bradenton, FL
Family Situation: Married w/ 3 kids (10 - the girl. 8 - boy 1, 7 - boy 2)
Occupation: Real estate (acquiring, selling, renting....)
Pets: 2 dogs and the loudest guinea pig on earth
Favorite Food: Pulled pork, BBQ ribs (slow cooked/rub)
Favorite Drink: Sam Adams Double Agent IPL

Typical dad; loves to grill, little league coach, soccer coach, football nut (FSU and Miami Dolphins), Baseball fanatic (FSU and Tampa Bay Rays). Besides my family and Disney I have a small obsession with FSU (wife and I are alums). Enjoy fishing and camping and even though I live on the coast....I hate the beach (sand:mad:), love the gulf.

I guess that enough for now.

Your not missing much. Still cold, everything frozen and white. Enjoy the game and the nice weather. Speaking from recent experience, you won't enjoy returning to real life.:sad2::sad2:

Hello Sir!:wave2:

And when I set the adjustable hoop to 6', I can dunk!
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

:lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2: Can still beat DS in the driveway since the area is limited. He has become a pretty good player all around. That is the sign of getting too old. Once the kids can beat you it's time to join the old man leagues.

Well George, welcome to the vocal minority.:lmao::lmao:

Hope you get to feeling better.
I'm better now thanks. Yesterday morning I was back to abnormal with a few lingering muscle aches.

Welcome to the clubhouse George. When the glacier recedes from my grill I'd love some rub recipes.

How many inches of snow you got up there now?? :scared: I see you sent some ice and snow our way this week. Thanks a lot. :lmao:
Nice to see you Don!

No alcohol for me today - Ash Wednesday. I'll make up for it tomorrow.
Wow, I didn't realize Kentucky allowed taking a day off even for religious reasons.
