AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!
We played the "guess the school calendar" game and lost. For the last - I don't know - 4 years, the school district has given the kids off days on the 4th Thursday and Friday of October. So we went ahead and booked our cruise on the Dream for that time, hoping that they'd do the same thing again. Nope. Next year's school calendar just came out and instead of having those two days off, they have off one day. October 31 - after we had already planned on being back. We had it planned that they would only miss 5 days of school, now we're up to a full week and half and are trying to decide if that's too much to miss. :headache: (And moving the cruise isn't an option. The Magic starts 7 night cruises after we get off)

Skools - where you learn em up good. You're in a cucumber.

Morning all. I had a 3.5 hour drive to do a 3 hour time management training session. I don't think my boss understands the concept of time management.

Don't worry. If you have another winter like this, it'll start in September and your kids will have most of October off anyway.

No kidding. Went outside to feed the dogs this morning wearing jeans and a polo. I actually thought it felt kind of good. It wasn't a mad dash to dump the food and get back in the door like it had been the past several weeks. :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

I have been driving with the windows partially down. I through the coat in the trunk!

I know... I had to leave the office for a while to meet with my accountant to take care of taxes. If it weren't for that minor detail, this is an awesome day! :thumbsup2

Dang school's... are also going to miss 5 days in October. We had planned our cruise around a wedding.
Be there for the wedding, see the family we haven't seen in years, and then get on a boat!
Well, it looks like the date for the wedding we were told, may have been a tentative date.
Uggghhhhh... Why can't everyone just do things on our schedules Barry!!!!
Sorry about the pickle you guys are in with the date changes but I am sure it will all work out - is a Disney Cruise :cool2:

Good morning gentlemen (well it was morning when I started this post),
Another wild weekend in the books. DS got his karate uniform on Thursday. We had a come to Jesus meeting with DD and it seems to be working. She's at least listening 50% of the time again. Kindergarden registration tonight. We're going to split up the Dynamic Duo next year. The first week of September will be interesting. Work is full into busy season so my pay is up and I'm putting in some overtime. Only problem is on Monday morning I was just getting home as my alarm to get the kids up is going off. Yesterday wasn't pretty.

Happy Saturday fellas! I haven't had a whole lot of time for the boards since I started my new job at the beginning of the year. I've been putting in about 15 extra hours per week. That raise I got wasn't enough to cover that much extra time if you consider it on a per hour basis (that will be a discussion during my first review). My new boss really likes the job I'm doing so far and has already indicated that I would be a natural for his position when/if he moves up. It has been a lot to take on but I am not bored anymore and am learning a lot. All the extra hard work is going to make those vacations that much more welcomed. Speaking of vacation, we have decided our next trip to WDW will be Oct 3 or 4 - 11th. Still working out details but happy to get something on the calendar. I am strongly considering do the Tower of Terror 10 miler on 10/4. WDW Marathon Weekend also has not been ruled out yet but that is still in negotiations.

Hope all are doing well, prayers for those in need and praise for those celebrating the wins. Most of my interactions have been on FB lately but I will try to check in more often.
Have a good trip
So proud of my girls today. They won 18-16, with only five players on there. The other team had 8 players and a lot more height. Both scored 6 points each and really played well together - the best all this snow filled season. My youngest dd is over 2 years younger than my oldest, but she is almost the same height and has a chance to be a terrific player. She locked down the other team's best player, while my oldest rotated to help defend the rest of the their team.
Well done girls.

So, I sit at a crossroad in my life. The wife and I have some decisions to make about the future of our family. My current enlistment is over in September, and we are looking at our options. I could reenlist again and transfer to a new duty station, or I could get out of the military after 7 1/2 years of honorable service and enter the job market. Being a man that likes to explore all of his options, I submitted for reenlistment (no obligation until I sign on the dotted line) and I have also just completed an application for a job opening at Disney as a secretary. Not the most glamorous job, but it's pretty much what I have done for the past 7 years, and reading the qualifications on the job posting, I am highly qualified. I have no idea what the starting salary would be, is that something I should ask about if they call, or is that taboo? I would need to make sure that the compensation is at least close to what I make now so that we won't have issues during our transition. I'm really excited and I hope that this blossoms into a golden opportunity.
Looks like you've already had some great advice. Good luck with whichever path you choose.
I passed my black belt test so thanks for all the encouragement over these two years.
Congrats. I might be calling on you in 10 years when I need a ninja assassin.
Saw it on FB, the Dole Whip Spiced Rum is back for the Flower and Garden Festival. And, even better, I'll be there.

Rain, but no freezing snow here.

Maybe it is finally over.
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:
40 and sunny here. Another blizzard planned for Thursday. I think I'll be breaking the shorts out in two weeks or so.
:lmao::lmao:

Morning Guys.

Almost time to head south!!!
Take me with you.

Good thing your kids got their mom's smarts and will be able to keep up.
If only we had someone amongst out group...some kind of all-powerful...supervisor or commander or curator or something...of, of... everything that's out there.
Have the resident ninja take care of them.

Asante sana. Wish I had a picture of them, but they have 3 of those at the Honolulu Zoo. And their enclosure is right next to the lions.

That has to be some great entertainment. Our zoo has a paddock with a bunch of bird feeders around it to attract birds. It sits right next to the wolf enclosure and a family of wild turkeys frequent the feeders.

Will you have the twins in the same class or separated?

Morning guys. We are supposed to reach 40 degrees today! Now where did I put my shorts??

And your sunglasses. My legs are so white they would cause snow blindness to a polar bear.

DW got slammed with a nasty flu bug last night. As a result, I'll be only working a half shift tonight, I'll need to get the girls from school, dinner etc. Think it's time for this winter to et up a bit. :sad2:

Yuck. Hope she is feeling better.

I know... I had to leave the office for a while to meet with my accountant to take care of taxes. If it weren't for that minor detail, this is an awesome day! :thumbsup2

Maybe you could have enjoyed something nice, like staying home with the flu, as opposed to taxes.

I hear that… after another 4'' of snow this morning, it turned out to be a decent evening.

Morning. Thank goodness, I was getting tired of walking on cleared, dry sidewalks, we got another dumping of snow overnight.

So far we've avoided the bug this year. Where's that wood I need to knock on?

Time to move up your cruise to ….ummmmm…. September 19th! :thumbsup2

We're going to split them up. They are already developing their own friends. They have a tendency to cause disruptions at circle time when together. And that way Stretch has to do stuff on his own. Princess likes to mother hen him and he lets her so then he doesn't have to do it.

Morning guys. On my drive home yesterday I spotted some brownish green stuff sticking through the snow. I think it is some of the mythilogical herbs Rakili uses :lmao:

On a more serious note, Catchers and Pitchers have reported! I'm ready for some baseball :thumbsup2

Milwaukee's zoo does that with the cheetahs and the antelope on one side of the Big Cats building and the lions and zebras on the other. The cats just sit there all day, trying to figure out how to jump that pit barrier and grab a quick snack.

Snow, snow and more snow, now freezing rain and then more rain. Hmmm, get buried in snow, or move to Florida and get swallowed by a sinkhole, oh, decisions, decisions.

If only we had someone amongst out group...some kind of all-powerful...supervisor or commander or curator or something...of, of... everything that's out there.

If we did, I'd like something done about shutting down winter thanks.

Yuck. Hope she is feeling better.

Thanks...She's now thinking adverse reaction to acid reflux. It used to be an issue, but seemed to go away the past couple of years, but back with a vengeance. No fever or anything like that. A day's sleep did wonders. All I've got is a cold, first one of the year, but it came with a fever. Think I got that part licked. We had been doing pretty good this season till the end of January, then I think the over-abundance of winter is doing us in.
