For your reference (and anyone else in future trip research)

I use Road Food a good bit.

Then there's Flavortown USA, where someone with way too much time on their hands mapped out every single place that was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

And if all else fails, I enter the city and state into Trip Advisor or Yelp and see how the restaurant rankings shake out.

One more: Travel Channel's Chowdown Countdown

This is good stuff Mark. I added it to Page One! :thumbsup2

Good Morning! Should be a interesting day. Meetings and only 4 hours of sleep.

I usually nap in meetings or post here, which is what I am doing now.

That's a negative ghost rider :rotfl2:

I got the Titans and Rams games this year.
:

With those seat locations, any game is a good game to watch.

, but even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.

What a great saying.

. I'm still trying to figure out Kentucky :lmao:!

Me to. Let us know when you reach any conclusions.

Morning guys. May your day be filled with dole whips, bacon and many other kinds of goodness.

That truly is a great wish for the day.

:lmao:
Park actually closed at 2 but I thought better of that.
.

And you left? EMH that late are the best.

Character tattoos are not required but they are great conversation starters while waiting in line.

You buying? I want more tattoos, and a Disney one would be cool.

Hey Guys! Since we all hate Mondays, I decided not to work yesterday.:goodvibes Got a lot of the backlog on the list done. Now to go back and see what I missed the last few days.

Good news! DD made the top D1 team for hoops. She had tryouts most of the weekend and was the only 11 year old that was able to dribble and hit left handed lay ups:woohoo: (except the left handed girl:rolleyes1). Was ranked #2 out of 37 girls. Still waiting to hear about DS placement.

OK, I know I haven't been around much the past couple years for various reasons. However, I now have a couple things to post that I never thought I would have the opportunity to do.
First, I'm retiring on January 2nd! :cool1:
Secondly, we actually have a short trip to WDW planned with our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandkids for the first week of March! :cool1:
Due to my DW's problems with neuropathy, and the cold/damp weather of PA triggering a lot of discomfort, we're heading to Perdido Key, FL, for 3 months beginning January 1. (My last work day is really Dec. 20th.) Our daughter's in-laws are springing for a trip for them to the World the first week of March and we are planning to join them for a couple days. It may not really happen for a couple reasons but we do actually have ressies at ASMu!
I'm beginning to look forward to retiring now that I've submitted my letter at work; a lot of weight has been lifted from my shoulders since I officially made the decision. Now, we just have to get our money invested correctly.

Congratulations on the upcoming retirement and the planned trip. My parents retired a few years ago and love it. They are still up here in the northeast as they love the seasons.

My FIL has Neuropathy in his leg that occurred after hip replacement surgery. It's a tough thing to deal with sometimes. Prayers that it gets better.

Have a safe trip down. And if you come back to the restaurant and the turbo chicken fryer is broken, it is Jim's fault.

I wish! If I am ever up that way I'd like a crack at operating that thing.

Still sounds like a pretty damn good day, beats mine.

We look like rain here. Staff are calling in sick in droves and its looking to be a rough day here. Came in to see no work done last night.

On the plus side, I think we will hit Mandarin tonight for dinner, celebrate DW and my 13th a couple of days early.

Congratulations on 13 years! Our anniversary is Saturday. 17 years of.......Wonderful bliss, yup bliss is what it is.:thumbsup2

Morning Men. Sitting here at work..... Working yeah that's it.
Came across this. Thought of you Randall.

That is awesome!

I guess there is a lesson in all this to slow it down. In my rush a ended up toppling some stacks of beer on my cart all over the warehouse, got it all cleaned up, but what a freaking mess. At least I got the glass shards out if my hands.

OUCH! Somewhere there were dads crying when this happened realizing that those specific bottles that were destined for consumption no longer have potential.

My Saturday officially sucks. Gators lose UGLY. At least they have good company with S. Carolina and Georgia both losing. Time for a cocktail.

And the Phins lost too! I don't know what evil you did to deserve it, but keep it coming.:lmao::lmao:

On Tuesdays I run and then play basketball during my (long) lunch break. I will probably look like one of the girls who can't make a left-handed layup. Come to think of it- my right hand isn't that good either.

Great idea!!! Wish I could have skipped Monday too.

I'm completely screwed up. I'm right handed, but I'm actually better dribbling with my left hand, but I can't shoot with the left hand at all.

More meeting posting.

Congrats to dd on basketball. What is that joke? Been happily married for 5 years....... .........

Been married a total of 17 years.

I'm completely screwed up. I'm right handed, but I'm actually better dribbling with my left hand, but I can't shoot with the left hand at all.

You're completely screwed up because of that? I was thinking of so many other reasons. :lmao:

Maybe the DDC #2 needs to feature a Dis Dad basketball game.

Yeah, it was cases of Stella Artois and Innis and Gunn too....Even worse, I barely damaged any PBR on the stacks :sad2:

Thanks Mark! Unfortunatly, those were two of the sites I had found and neither of them had anything within 50 miles of Branson. :confused3. I'll check Yelp and Tripadvisor today.

I'm completely screwed up. I'm right handed, but I'm actually better dribbling with my left hand, but I can't shoot with the left hand at all.
I was talking to a coworker a while back. She golfs right handed, but bats lefthanded. Throws right handed, but bowls left handed. I wonder if you two are related?:confused3

Maybe the DDC #2 needs to feature a Dis Dad basketball game.
Would it be un-Disney of us to play "no blood, no foul?"

I'm in!

No. The only thing I do better with my left hand than right is dribble a basketball. I have no idea why, and it makes no sense. :confused3 :rotfl2:

Would it be un-Disney of us to play "no blood, no foul?"
Is there any other way to play? :confused3

I'm ambidextrous. I can use the remote control equally well with either hand.

I did see that Lambert's throwed rolls were in the top 10 on Countdown Chowdown. So you've got that going for you, which is nice.

Good deal and congrats to DD and best of luck to DS - keep us posted.

Congrats on the 17years and to Big Tikki as well in case I missed that one earlier - the mind is the second thing to go :rolleyes1

Got y’all beat in the category of screwed up handedness.
I’m a lefty and use that hand for all things that require precision, but I use the right hand for all things that require brute force.

So for things like pen, knives, razors… for those I use the left hand
But implements like hammers, wrenches, most sporting gear… those are done right handed.
Then there are the oddball things where I’ll switch back and forth like say… paint brushes, screwdrivers or pool cues.

Married a lefty as well. She can’t do anything with her right hand to save her life.
Our boy, however, is completely right handed and is actually the oddball in the house.

I'm ambidextrous. I can use the remote control equally well with either hand.

Never mind… Mark wins.

A cold, but sunny day at the soccer field. Game time temp was 49 degrees. Team won 1-0, with youngest scoring only goal.

Congrats!

You made a hell of a good distance, that was just north of where we stopped on Day 2!

Must be the lack of snow makes it harder for the dogs to pull the sled.:lmao::lmao:

Anyone else decorate for Halloween? We have a toter of decorations (compared with 10 for Christmas) and this is the feature piece. DW has this when she was younger and it makes an appearance every year. It has a light bulb in the inside.

temporary-133.jpg

We usually do. Waiting on new furniture next week. Then we'll see if the decorations go up or if we are just too lazy and start for Thanksgiving.

PEANUT BUTTER, BEVERLY of a weekend of football.

:woohoo::woohoo: Have a great time!

Morning guys. We met with another family who adopted from Poland on Saturday. It was great watching the kids play and see that even when there is a language barrier, laughter is universally understood :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 The love you will give them has no language barrier either. Continued good luck!

Good Mornings Guys!!

Just enjoying a morning coffee while the rest of the family catches up on some sleep.

Oh, I remember that view from August. It was a little warmer though.:lmao::lmao: Thanks for posting.

Morning guys. 13 days to go...

:thumbsup2

The kids are off of school Thursday and Friday, so we're using up some credit we had with Southwest and heading to Branson, Mo for a long weekend. Found a deal using the Hotels.com mobile app that got me an extra 30% a two bedroom condo/time share place - making it $97 a night. Got a rental car from Priceline - forget exactly what I paid, but I recall entering in the bid, laughing, and thinking "there's no way I'll get a full size this cheap!"
We only have a few things planned, trying to keep the vacation relaxing. There is a 40 mile train ride through the Ozarks and cave tour just over the boarder in Arkansas.
The only meal we have planned right now is at Lambert's - home of the Throwed Rolls, suggested by Sean. You stick your hand up in the air, and a server throws a dinner roll into it from across the room. :thumbsup2

If anyone has any other "must do's" in the Branson area, I'm all ears.

Sounds like a great weekend. Have fun and stay safe!

This thread is completely overwhelming and terrifying but whatever. I'm 46 (it's really like 30 days with weekends )days out from my trip and looking for ways to waste time.

We are going with our 2 girls (5 and 4) and we are bringing my parents and my brother and his friend.

I'll admit, I don't have any character tattoos yet, but maybe drinking around the world this year will lead to something new.

Welcome to the group.
