I need some prayers for my son Christopher. I'm sitting in the ER with him... He might of swallowed something he shouldn't have. We aren't sure what is wrong with him. This place is packed. I have a feeling this is gonna be a long night.

Thank you everyone. We are still here and they just ordered a chest xray for him. Still don't know what's up but he does seem a little better than he did earlier. Hopefully we are out of here soon.

We just got home and I got Christopher to bed. To make a long story short, they took the X-rays and they didn't show anything except for stool and gas. They watched him for a few more hours with no other symptoms . They were going to draw labs on him but I kinda talked them out of it. I'm going to watch him like a hawk and call the pediatrician tomorrow to follow up. It was a long night and I think it's time for me to go pass out. Who knows what the rest of the night has in store for me. I'll try to update at some point tomorrow. Thanks every one for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

Tim, continued prayers that everything works out.

Morning guys. Sorry I am late with my check in. I am doing a new mens group on Friday mornings and I have to leave my house at 5:15 in order to make it to breakfast. Biscuits and gravy this morning :thumbsup2

Late?? I would say so heck it is almost tomorrow already. Who checks in and says good morning at 9:13 am :confused3

Hey everyone....

The kid is awake, drank a little chocolate milk, and ate a small bowl of Cheerios. DW called out of work and we are gonna lay low today. Thank you again for all your prayers. he is doing better but not 100%. We are guessing it was like a 24 hour bug or something- without the puking. :confused3

Feel free to carry on the bacon, dole-whip, and Canadian talk. :thumbsup2

Ah cool, I avoid running at all costs generally, even if there is free beer, :rotfl2: We've got a Harvest Moon Festival event coming up in a few weeks for our local Chinese adoption group, cool to see more adoption advocates on the board!

There are several of us here that either have adopted or are in the process. Our daughter was placed with us as a foster child and we adopted her. Sean's daughter is adopted. DisneyFerris has two adopted daughters. Steve (GoHeard1028) adopted both of his kids. David (theduck619) is in the process of adopting 4 siblings from Poland. I know there are more, but those are the only ones that come to mind immediately.

I started reading through the blog you have linked in your signature. Quite the adventure!

If Canadian bacon is just ham, what's a Canadian Dole Whip? Yellow snow? :confused3

Did you get the job... :scratchin

;)
I think I actually did!
It's just a 1 game playoff for that real wild card spot. Not a big fan of this joke of 2 wild cards. I'd rather just see the 3 game series in Cincinnati become a 4 game series and keep it at home. :thumbsup2

Me neither. i think it's just a made for tv moment and baseball was fine without it.

‘Morning all…
Dealing with house inspectors and “nervous nelly” buyers is mightily stressful.
It may be early in the day yet, but I need a drink.

First off (because kids always come first)

I missed this until now.
Sorry the boy was having such issues (and that y’all had to deal with the related stress).
Prayers continue for all, but things sound promising for now. May that continue.

I figured out how to avoid a war selecting a DisDads logo. Except for the lawyer part, which I have evaded like a draft doger moving to Canada.

Very nice!
I rather like your rendition myself.

I did it again. . .

I went to the TPA&S board again.

Why do I do it?

:confused3

Someone smack me next time I go over there.

Will do!
Or you could just come over here first and we’ll talk you out if it before things like this happen…

Why are you asking us to smack you? Doesn't somebody over there take care of that?

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Me fail English? That's unpossible!

Me talk pretty one day.

Mmmmmm…

Prayers, even though I'm a little late. Hope he is felling better. It is amazing sometimes what kids can swallow. Hope it wasn't too long of a wait.

Finally Friday! Working from home today too! Unfortunately this usually results in me having to do actual work work. :surfweb: :badpc:

What are everyones plans for the weekend?

DS and I have to disappear tonight because DW is having a jewelry party of some sort. Think we will take in a hockey game.

Tomorrow, we have 3 soccer games in a middle school tournament. Sunday will be a quiet day, I hope - football, I have a soccer game and DS starts basketball tryouts for his club team.

Great to hear about your little guy. And remember Canadians are cool.

Good to hear!

Don't eat the yellow snow. :thumbsup2

Yea, I should keep the blog up, the kids grow up so quick and I forget so much, it'd be nice to document somewhere.

We actually owe Disney a bit to our adoption choice. We went to WDW for our honeymoon in 2000 and saw a little Chinese girl walking around the bus, with a bunch of non-chinese people. We didn't think much of it really, and she was chattering away, and asked my wife if she was a mommy. Then she pointed out her mommy to us, obviously a forever family. We thought it was cute, but then when we got off the bus and walked up to the park, there was apparently a big Chinese Adoption group meeting, and there were 50+ kids, mostly dressed as Mulan, all gathered at the park entrance. It really struck a cord with us, and when we got back home I started researching, and saving funds to get ready. We weren't old enough to go through the Chinese program(21 at the time), but we knew it cost a fortune to do, so we started saving and getting things lined up.

Really weird thing was when we picked an agency, I told them the WDW story and the lady was like "Oh, yea! October 2000, that was our agency celebrating our 10 year anniversary!" pixiedust:

Down is the easy part. With enough weight on you, all you have to do is fall off the boat and you are guaranteed your direction will be down. Getting back up on the boat is the tough part.

Cement shoes and little shove sounds more likely.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well it would be difficult to communicate with you on the bottom of the ocean, so be safe and remember to let go of the weight when you are finished.:thumbsup2

Good Morning And Happy Friday Back At You!

:rotfl2::lmao: I was wondering how long it would take for someone to respond.

What are everyones plans for the weekend?

Well, we have field hockey in the morning for DD, apple picking early afternoon and then late afternoon and evening hoop tourney's for both. On Sunday, back to field hockey in the morning and then my nephew is turning 9 so a cowboys and indians party in the afternoon. DD is going as Jessie, DS13 says dressing up like a cowboy is stupid so will be going as himself.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

The countries "oldest running fair", the Topsfield Fair opens next week. My wallet is already crying.:scared:

Well, since you asked....tomorrow morning I'm running the Brewers 10k followed by a couple of free beers. I think I'll get ice cream on the way home, just because I can. DS has a soccer game in the afternoon.
Sunday we're meeting Sean (DisDadIL) and his daughter at a local pumpkin farm where a local adoption/foster care advocacy group is having a family fun day. Heading back to my place afterwards to carve the pumpkins. Still haven't decided if I should carve it with a knife or a dangerous amount of high explosives.

I'd go with the explosives!:thumbsup2 Have a great day guys!

The dds are out of school today - professional day for teachers. Took oldest dd to dr for her last shot. The better news is that this time next Friday, I'll be loading up the vehicle to leave for WDW.

Great idea, but is rarely a bad idea.

Really weird thing was when we picked an agency, I told them the WDW story and the lady was like "Oh, yea! October 2000, that was our agency celebrating our 10 year anniversary!" pixiedust:

Cool story. DW and I honeymooned in WDW Sept 2000, so we missed you by a month. Our next door neighbor adopted a girl from China over 4 years ago, so he told us a little about that process.

I actually had to work yesterday. Rewrote a proposal while I was waiting for the room to be ready. Can't complain though Norm because I wasn't sitting at a desk. ]

That's why I said - the life of CJ. :lmao: Did you dive? Any good pictures?

Morning David. You should not apologize for being late, but for not sending us biscuits and gravy this morning.

I got up at 4:30, but let's just say I was not moving very fast this morning.

That is awesome :thumbsup2 I need to update our blog more as well. It has been quite an experience thus far. We hope to have our kiddos home around late Jan/early Feb.

Morning David. You should not apologize for being late, but for not sending us biscuits and gravy this morning.

I won't even bother lying to you and say they are in the mail. It wasn't the best I have ever had, but it was edible.

Already a Beverly kind of day. On top of that, I can't get out of work to see Amelia off to Guides Camp this weekend, will have to settle for a phone call I guess.

Good to hear, hope everything is smooth sailing here on in. Poor wee guy. Late night hospital runs are not fun. At least you got home a decent hour?

It's OK if you fail English. As long as you're fluent in Canadian, you'll be fine.

Please! It's not politically correct to speak English in Canada, only the language of every immigrant coming in is acceptable.

Yeah, I am cranky today, how can you tell?

What are everyones plans for the weekend?

Finish putting in the new floor (dining room done, hall to do)
Clean house for next weekend
Finish planning next weekend's 25th anniversary party
Mow the lawn
Close the pool (late, late, late)

that's nice -
Glad your boy is doing better, hope it all turns out OK. My wife had a terrible pain in her side last weekend and at 4am we decided she had to go to emergency... they did a cat scan at 9am looking for kidney stones or a burst appendix... and almost by accident sat the bottom of her lungs in the scan and a serious case of pneumonia! She is on the mend now but she won't hold still during the days while I am at work and she needs to do nothing for 2 weeks.

Oh man, I need to close my pool too, I have no idea how though, as we just moved in about 4 months ago and I've never had a pool, :rotfl2:
