Heading back to the MD this afternoon to try to get rid of this cold/infection/whatever that I have had since the first week of August. Have been on 2 different antibiotics and still here. Hopefully seeing a different MD will help.

And we're already 500+ post in!

A little video for you entertainment.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Vs5QJi-dX-4

This thread is flying compared to the last few. Funny video. I actually played it over the intercom and everyone was laughing without the pics. Then put it up on the projector in the conference room and they are watching it now in amusement.

You have reached the end of this page. Please continue to the next page.

Ummm.......OK.

I am really thinking of doing both. They are on back to back weekends. If I do both then I submit my better time to RunDisney :thumbsup2

Practice makes perfect! :thumbsup2

I actually ran last night. Part of our wellness program at work is that we're supposed to walk a mile every Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. We were working on the farm and I didn't get home until after 10pm. I was tired and decided I was going to run so I could get done quicker and go to bed. About .1 mile in, I stepped in a hole and went down like a sack of bricks. Yelled a few different four letter words. Finally got up and ended up walking the rest of the way.

Thankfully, my ankles are so screwed up that I can roll them, curse and scream for about 5 minutes and then I'm good.

Anyway, moral of the story: Running sucks, running is dangerous... especially after dark. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I think it would be a much better race if you had to chug a beer at each mile.

I'm glad they wait until the season is over to do this. It probably takes more work to hose down the Brewers parking lot than normal after this event. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

And he didn't even use an extra "u" anywhere!!! :scared: :scared: :faint:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

Barry I will be running my first 10k in oct. How does one get over the fear of like being last?? The sandy hook was more of a charity fundraiser then it was a race so there were plenty of non runners. All the 10k races I am finding are "races" they all have runners in them. I am looking at past results and I compare them to my estimated time and it seems I will be at the very end!!

Word of Wisdom: Keep pace with the second to last guys and sprint to the finish at the end. That way he/she is last. :thumbsup2 have you been running? How many miles a week? For a 10K, there are a lot of racers, but there are also locals that run it so I think you'll be OK.

I find this kind of decisive action refreshing. I have to believe most of us wouldn't hang around if the DIS Dads actually acted like Congress.

Smear campaigning might be fun.

I here Captain Oblivious smells like ederberries.

Would running a page count as a filibuster?

If you're posting from your bathroom, and you call it buster.... sure.

Again from a non-runner here I always keep the following in mind whenever trying something new. Winning is better than finishing. Finishing is better than not finishing. Not Finishing is better than not starting. Just work your way through that progression and you'll do fine.

But I'll go out on a limb and guess that you just googled it... :rolleyes1

Not with DW playing Roz. Always watching

Well, I guess I can take the laptop into the bathroom and post from there. :confused3

I call for an amendment to the "pictures or it didn't happen" rule here

Speaking of drinking, I'm running the Milwaukee Brewers 10k on Saturday. Starts in the parking lot of Miller Park, goes up and around Miller Brewery, comes back to the stadium, runs around the warning track and finishes out in the parking lot.

Oh, and you get two free beers just for running. :drinking1:drinking1

Should be two beers per K ...then again it's just Miller

Don't know why, but it stuck me as funny that when you need advice about finishing last, go to Barry.

Ummm.......OK.

Good luck. You seemed pretty good at WDW. Maybe that is the cure for what ails ya.

purple is a better color to feel

I can think of a better color to feel but this is a family board so I'll stop this thought here.

Speaking of drinking, I'm running the Milwaukee Brewers 10k on Saturday. Starts in the parking lot of Miller Park, goes up and around Miller Brewery, comes back to the stadium, runs around the warning track and finishes out in the parking lot.

I'm running a 10k in Chicago on Saturday. It's called the Crosstown Classic. When registering I had to declare if I was supporting South side (yes) or North side (yeah right). Your race shirt is different depending on which side you chose and they are going to average the times of the first 1,000 finishers for each team to determine a winner. It should be fun. Starts in Grant Park and runs past Soldier Field and McCormick Center. Hoping I feel good so I can get a decent time to submit for Disney.

Let me just stop you there. You will not finish last. There is beer at the finish line.

This looks a little like the world case run Paul and I entered into :thumbsup2

this may work

Where do I sign up?

Doctor still says no running over a half mile on the knee, but if I drink enough before and during I won't feel a thing.

you going to the DDC2 there are sign up for the world showcase run there !!!

True got to start somwhere

Sitting in the back of a conference room, listening to the same 2 hour training that I've been through 4 times already. (I'm the project lead for an email transition, and we're training the users. I'm here to answer any questions and making sure the trainer hits all of the points)
Basically, what I'm saying is that I'm bored to death. :faint:

Sadly, that's probably true. Ever since I got a promotion late last year I've had much less DIS time that I would like to have. Exhibit A: Trip Reports. :headache:

Even if you can't update your own TR, you could probably catch up on reading a few...:rolleyes1

Speaking of drinking, I'm running the Milwaukee Brewers 10k on Saturday. Starts in the parking lot of Miller Park, goes up and around Miller Brewery, comes back to the stadium, runs around the warning track and finishes out in the parking lot.

Sounds, fun, but I could see all of that just by doing a stadium tour.

Oh, now I get it.

This. :thumbsup2

Just trying to catch up a bit....

Haven't posted here in a while, but I'm in need of some Pixie Dust.

I've known about this for about three weeks now, but yesterday I got the official email: my company will not be renewing my contract near the end of October. They just don't have enough programs to justify having a full-time native English speaker. They will, however, keep me to teach classes on a part-time basis (maybe 8 hours a week for most weeks, possibly as little as 4). On the plus side, since I worked for POSCO Research Institute for two years, that's a great thing to have on a resume. On the negative side, since we've been planning our trip to the States for December, and have already bought the tickets and what not, it's making finding a full-time job (that will allow me to take a three week vacation after only about a month of working with them) difficult. Probably wouldn't be able to start anything till the new year.

We have another year left on our housing contract, so we'll be staying in Pohang at least until next summer or so. Then, we plan on moving to the States (we're tired of dealing with one-year contracts and moving all the time). We're going to spend most of our trip in December scoping out neighborhoods and suburbs of Chicago. Any advice would be very welcome. (To give you guys an idea of what we're looking for, we'd like to be in a nice neighborhood with nice schooling, etc., relatively close to Korean communites/other families, and not too expensive {all we can afford is 100k or under}). Also, any potential job leads would be nice (preferably dealing with international relations, perhaps at a university [but not teaching, I don't have a teaching degree]).

I didn't put this in the rant section, because I'm not at all angry with the company, I completely understand their viewpoint (plus, they want me to keep working with them, even if it's just a limited basis). We just have a lot of stress these days due to the situation.
Good luck Casey. I can't help you with Chicagoland but I think we have a few Chicago area dad here.

$250+ dollars later I am back on the road. Tire had not one, not two, but three nails in it. Replaced the two back tires, had the oil changed and some preventative beverly. Car is ready to go to the KEYS on Thursday for a long weekend.
Cars are nothing but Beverly's.

I just spent $1100 for new tires on my cargo van, then they couldn't align it. $450 for upper & lower ball joints for both sides. I need brakes too which is going to involve new brake lines, calipers, pads and rotors- and that's just the front.

Ok, not that I disagree with this or any of the Manlaws, but it is almost too easy to pass a Manlaw. Shouldn't there be some big cluster involved in establishing a new Manlaw, or do I just come to expect that sort of thing since our government can't decide what kind of toilet paper to buy for the White House without a big argument and stalemate from Congress???
I like our process better. If we did it 'their' way, someone would post Green Eggs & Ham 1 word per post. :crazy2:

Guys....who knows what day it is? It's the first Wednesday of this Thread!

Hummmmppppp Daaaaayyyyy!

Love that picture! :thumbsup2

That's like a win/win! Well, maybe more just like 1 win but that win includes beer!

Just run it and don't worry about anyone else. You aren't racing them. If you try to do that, you'll burn yourself out before you finish. Run your pace and relax. You'll be fine.

Gotta be careful out there Andy. You need some running lights.

Actually he should have asked Tim then. :thumbsup2
OUCH!

That one hurt. :lmao:

Yeah. That was round 1 of the meds. I had finished them on day 2 of the trip and thought it was gone. Then right after we got back had to go back in. That was round 2. This will be round 3. I'm just going to ask for the best stuff they have and for as long as I can take it without needing a liver transplant. I'll kill it or it will kill me. Will let you know how it turns out in a few weeks. If I all of a sudden stop posting, assume I lost.:lmao::lmao:

So, just you and Paul then. Your Facebook friend will be so disappointed! :sad1:

So Tim, are you going to equal the playing field in January?

h274A779F

Sorry I wasnt sure who else is entering it so I played it safe and went with the definite ones. We will be more then happy if SHE would join us,even though that means you will be along for the ride.
