Speaking of drinking, I'm running the Milwaukee Brewers 10k on Saturday. Starts in the parking lot of Miller Park, goes up and around Miller Brewery, comes back to the stadium, runs around the warning track and finishes out in the parking lot.

Oh, and you get two free beers just for running. :drinking1:drinking1

I think it would be a much better race if you had to chug a beer at each mile.

Posting for the sake of pagination. To paraphrase,

"Obessesion runs deep in the heartland.":sad2:

Winning is everything, it's the only thing.

We have one of those too. It's a 3 mile Beer Run that takes you around to local watering holes. Drink up, keep running. Or stumbling. Whatever.

I'm glad they wait until the season is over to do this. It probably takes more work to hose down the Brewers parking lot than normal after this event. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Anyone else notice that the American gave the race distance in kilometers and the Canadian referenced the beer stops in miles?

Next stop....the Twilight Zone.:scared:

Barry I will be running my first 10k in oct. How does one get over the fear of like being last?? The sandy hook was more of a charity fundraiser then it was a race so there were plenty of non runners. All the 10k races I am finding are "races" they all have runners in them. I am looking at past results and I compare them to my estimated time and it seems I will be at the very end!!

Well... you have to start somewhere and somebody has to be last? :confused3

Words of wisdom from a non-runner who has no desire to run a 10K... ever.

What do you mean? Their season was over by the All Star break.:lmao:

And he didn't even use an extra "u" anywhere!!!
If anyone needs me, I'll be in my panic room.

If you finish the race, you beat hundreds of other people that never bothered to even try.

In all of the races that I've done, there are always new runners, walkers, etc. The running community is very supportive. You'll find complete strangers there cheering you on, even if you're the last person to finish. What race are you doing?

ETA: Consecutive Ownage!

They should do it this way:

mile 1 :drinking1

mile 2 :drinking1:drinking1

mile 3 :drinking1:drinking1:drinking1
