Dad indeed has pneumonia, good news is it didn't interfere with coffee time :rotfl2: He's there now, will get his antibiotics on the way home. Thanks guys!

Glad he's getting treatment!

And, walking uphill both ways in the snow.

Without shoes…

In the dark……:lmao:

Carrying a 75-lb. bag on your back...

Goes without sayin’.
We’re about to start the process of acquiring a new “used” vehicle; which we will then give to my son. Why? Because he needs to be mobile and DW doesn’t want him making three and four hour drives between school and home (or anywhere else for that matter) in a substandard car. If her’s breaks down, I can always come to her rescue. If mine squats, I can walk home. :lmao:

Basically, “Dad” gets the crappy everything...
(but I do believe that there is an now exception to this rule for Maui Onion chips)

Well, the exception there is that Dad is bigger than everybody else, and can fight them away from the Maui Onion chips.:thumbsup2

But at least it has a catalytic converter! :thumbsup2

:woohoo:

For now, anyway! :rotfl:

Is that all you ask?

WELL, NO!

Went to AAA on the way to the doctor. Found that Disney and AAA are not running any exciting ticket media specials right now. I did take a brochure to look at while waiting for the vampire. I found I could…

Get a Florida Resident Seasonal Pass, Weekdays only, at All Four Parks with Hopper for $201.99 (209.00 Disney price). Massive blackout dates though; all of summer, spring break, Christmas etc.

To many blackout days you ask?

WELL, NO!

Next year's vacations will be almost exclusively at WDW. So far, I have trips in January, June and October. AND ALL OF THOSE FALL ON NON BLACKOUT DATES! So I can have tickets for a maximum of 15 days and the kid for around 12 for $200 or about $13 a day. Plus, the first two weeks of December are not blacked out. It is going to be awful hard not to add a week in December, so the daily price could be even lower. Potentially, four weeks with Room and Ticket Media for $400.

So, I don't get to go to the parks on weekends. No big deal, there are many trips with little park touring. An added bonus is I will be able to do a few meet-ups in the park for Marathon Weekend.

Feeling pretty good right now despite the bruising on my arm from the blood letting and dull the ache in my tooth.

Off line for a couple of days and will try to catch up later.

Sorry about the blood work & dental work. :badpc:

That Mickey head flash drive is sweet!!!! Wonder why I didn't get that offer last month? I'd love to have one of those.

Sweet deal on the Florida pass… feel like picking up 4 more for my family? :worship:

And, walking uphill both ways in the snow
Without shoes…
In the dark……:lmao:
Ha! I was lucky - I had shoes. Of course, it was really just about 3 feet of rusty barbed wire that we wrapped around our feet...and I had to share them with my brothers...but we had shoes, dang it!
Carrying a 75-lb. bag on your back…

MOst of them don't understand Eastern KY. I don't want to go as far as third world, but there are still many places without plumbing, utilities, etc. Not to mention driving around the mountain.

DW and I took a long weekend trip to Jenny Wiley State Resort Park near Prestonsburg some years ago. Nice place for a little getaway...hiking in the woods, antiquing in town, watching National Guard helos drop buckets of water on a forest fire (huh? :firefight).

What struck us was the contrast between "haves" and "have-nots" along the drive, so close to each other. Homes that obviously had some money tied up in them, next to shacks. It was almost surreal, the juxtaposition of wealth and poverty.

I think we drove around that mountain, too.

Off line for a couple of days and will try to catch up later.

At the Doctor's office today to get a retake on my blood work. The Hemoglobin numbers are low (12) and they want to recheck it. Doubt it is going to get any better but whatever. Took them 3 times to hit a vein. Really enjoyed that. Tomorrow I start major dental work that, before it is all over, is going to take a chunk out of next year. That is going to be a ton of fun.

Thought it was early for our Magic Bands and it was, inside was…

I want one?!?:thumbsup2

Is that all you ask?

I didn't ask, but go ahead.:confused3

To many blackout days you ask?

Obviously not or you wouldn't insist on telling us.

Feeling pretty good right now despite the bruising on my arm from the blood letting and dull the ache in my tooth.

Now the 3 times is a charm was funny.:lmao::lmao:

Tooth pain is not. Hope tomorrow goes well and your feeling better soon. Coincidentally, I shall be visiting the dentist tomorrow as well. Apparently I have been brushing my teeth too well and it has worn down some teeth that they plan to add some material to to keep me from going all the way through. I'm sure that has a lot of $$ attached to it. Good luck.

Don't post over here much but just wanted to share.

Got home yesterday to see that my magic bands had arrived.:thumbsup2

Even better, my Pops called later in the evening to tell me he got his and he was super excited about getting his. I love it when a 77 year old can get excited aboout Disney!

Awesome CJ! Not the blood draw or the dentist news....the AP deal!

50 days till DDC2!

Awesome Dave! :thumbsup2

I think, given the time to take more trips to WDW, my Dad could be as nuts about Disney as me! He really enjoyed our trip together last June.

Trying to catch up…

Going to brag a bit about DS#1. For context, there's a dad I know through scouting who's son was diagnosed with a fairly aggressive neck and chest sarcoma about a year ago. I've gotten to know them well in the hospital and have done 4 merit badges with him during his hospitalization…

Good job Jack! I had a client in NY that was a Pediatric Cancer Center. Never met braver or tougher kids than those in the unit. Same with the staff.

Total hip replacement Thursday.

Good luck Bubba. Will be thinking about you when I am getting my mouth drilled.

Was out late tonight, went out for dinner for Amelia's Bday today can't believe she's 9!

Belated Birthday wishes Amelia. Just think, soon you will be a teenager.

Dad indeed has pneumonia, good news is it didn't interfere with coffee time :rotfl2: He's there now, will get his antibiotics on the way home. Thanks guys!

Glad he seems to be doing better. Can't miss coffee time.

On the Tech Front Discussion: When I was in college, only kids that wrote code had access to computers. We were barely out of the stone tablet era. My first personal computer had dial up and both AOL and Prodigy Discs. I liked Prodigy better. When the first Gulf War started, a friend was over at the house and we fired up the computer and logged on. There were already pictures of the explosions and recaps on their news page. A glimpse into the future. If I only I invested in it. Problem was I would have bought Prodigy stock instead of AOL.

And is everything OK? You've been around quite a bit the past couple of days. :lmao::rotfl2:
:rotfl2::rotfl2: Well he did say the painting was done.

::yes::

That and having finally finished off the month-end reporting processes…
But I appreciate your concern for my wellbeing :lmao:

…All is not lost however. In the mail today was this…

Quite the mixed day but a bit of Disney Magic and some major wins in the AP area would certainly help me deal with the rest of the days trials.

Great Story. Maybe your poppa should consider joining the Disdads.
He certainly qualifies.

I lied, it wasn't $400. With tax $432.26. Logged onto My Disney and successfully linked the cards to our reservation. Tonight, I make my first foray at Fastpass+. What do you think the odds are that a December trip is tacked on before the weekend is out?

Good luck to you. I need a lot of work done and it is going to take mega $ and lots of visits to get everything done.

Good luck Randall and CJ.

May your doctors be gentle and their assistants look good in tight sweaters.

Took the plunge into the Fastpass+ system. Some glitches, mainly telling me that a member of the party was not eligible for FP+. Had to start the day all over again and it would eventually take it.

New Plans for the trip:

Wed. 8 - Check into BW, get race registration stuff taken care of, MK in the Afternoon. No evening plans

Thurs. 9 - 5K (I may or may not attempt it), Epcot, have to be back late afternoon for SIL arrival. Whoopee!

Fri. 10 - 10K, Post race at DHS, afternoon at the resort, dinner Il Mulino 7:00 PM

Sat. 11 - Half Marathon, No Parks, dinner Kona Cafe at 5:30

Sun. 12 - Full Marathon, No Parks, dinner at California Grill at 7:20

Mon. 13 - Drop kid off at airport in the AM. No other plans as of yet.

Yes, where is that time machine. I've tried to figure out that "Butterfly Effect" moment where I could go back and invest well to be wealthy, but not wipe out the family or end up in prison.

And we liked it!

I started something fun. My dad tells all those back in the day stories. They still change everytime I hear them.. Good stuff.

May your doctors be gentle and their assistants look good in tight sweaters.

I'm hoping that is female assistants look good in tight sweaters, not that there is anything wrong with the other.

Yes, the dad inherited crap stuff. I inherited the crappy minivan the first go round. At least I inherited the tumbler. I'm hoping for the next newer used vehicle, but that is about as likely as getting the MacBook for Christmas.

Off line for a couple of days and will try to catch up later.

Prayers on the medical stuff.

Boy, you're just a bucket of happiness today aren't you. What's on tap for this evening, a visit from an IRS auditor?
!

Better than a home visit from the big handed proctologist along with a quicky colonoscopy.

I think we drove around that mountain, too.

It is amazing to see those mega big homes next to the trailers on block. It is probably all family land, so doubtful property values are effected. One of the politicians lives over in there and has a huge mansion in one of the counties with the biggest poverty and unemployment rate. I would think we would have hired more people to work as his endentured servants, er um, household staff.

Good Luck at the dentist guys:goodvibes, Take it from me whatever the Dental issue, it's better then life threatening emergency dental surgery::yes::, it's been over a month now and it I still have no feeling on my left bottom jaw:crazy2:, I was at the Dr yesterday and reconfirmed that it could take up to a year to get feeling back, or it could be never, but that is a small price to pay rather then being dead if they didn't do it:scratchin

Randall... Good luck tomorrow. Just try not to start twerking right away when the anesthesia wears off. I'm sure your surgeon is good, but not that good.

Dad indeed has pneumonia, good news is it didn't interfere with coffee time :rotfl2: He's there now, will get his antibiotics on the way home. Thanks guys!

Well the point was to be rid of them. I get first dibs on the Unibroue 17 and trappist beers though. :rolleyes1

Although Dollars to Donuts they are panicking and doing something today. :sad2:

He'll adapt, the girls took forever to, Audrey in particular.

Amelia called our room at the POP "new home" in '06

Glad to hear he is ok.

Oh, that's cold. One David to another, show some love! What about that last-second FG?

That was amazing. Since your a David you can keep the avatar :lmao:

Besides, when have the football Hoosiers done anything recently to brag about.....except beating Purdue :thumbsup2

Basically a flash drive with the Edna tutorial that is available on the web. The cool thing about it is that it automatically opened my browser and the My Disney Experience page for the trip. If I had questions, I could refer to Edna. There was also a semi-personalized booklet with info on our trip, the Boardwalk including resort dining options, magic bands, fastpass+ and general Disney info. Pretty cool.

Is that all you ask?

WELL, NO!

They might as well just call this the CJ package, can Norm and I buy in :confused3

Thoughts and prayers to Randall!

Good morning guys. Have a customer who is doing a turkey fry for all of their suppliers today. It would be bad customer service not to attend ;)

On the menu, five different kinds of turkey

Fried
BBQ
Beer marinated
Grilled
Traditional

I may be asleep until next week :lmao:
