Trying to hook up with Carl and Paul for a December run. Carl says I can do a 1/2 no problem. The furthest I've ran in months are 5Ks. :scared:

A friend of mine and I are going to do a Santa Hustle 5K on Dec 8. You get a long sleeve tech shirt printed to look like Santa's coat, a hat and fake beard to wear for the run. Because....well, why not, I guess?

Oh, and they have one water stop, one cookie stop and one candy stop along the route. :)

There is a tree outside my office window that still has green leaves. Green leaves covered in snow confuses my brain and give me a headache.
Thats what happened here a few years ago... October snowstorm- heavy wet snow when the trees still had leaves on them. It wasn't a pretty sight.

Sounds like a fun run. Only would be better if the water stop was a beer stop. ;)

There is one coming up in Hartford that is an ugly Christmas sweater 5K.

Oh, and BTW, you are missing some good DVC talk on the DisDads DVC sticky... :coffee:

Day one of vacation. Enjoyed a day of watching Skyfall and The Walking Dead. Netflix is way cheaper and better than cable thus far.

5k is still a lot farther than a lot of people ran on Saturday.

!

5K is a lot farther than I will run this entire year, heck, decade.

Consider the source. I sold 1/2 my SAINTS season tickets (including last night's game) to help fund some special extras for our trip in March.
Glad to be here!

Ah, someone else with pro team tickets. As one of the few DisDads from a state with no Pro teams, it is disappointing. Yes, we have the UK pro player college basketball team, but not quite the same.

Hitting one of the busiest times of year business wise with travel and other things. Next 2-1/2 weeks are crazy, luckily weekends are under control to enjoy the Holiday times.

Safe travels.

But the real question is who sings better Sean or me? :confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl2:
:

Sean sent me bacon, so he's got my vote thus far.

Anytime. You just need to bring your family next time. Madison got all excited when I said I was running with you. Then got sad when I told her your daughters weren't going to be there.

I know. It just happens that my DW has classes on Saturdays during the school year and any of the people I could have gotten to bring them up were in WDW for Wine and Dine weekend. We'll definitely have to get them together sometime.

And better pavement. :headache:

Oh, and I looked at their route map from their website again. They were still showing the 2011 version! No idea if they even put out one for 2013, but if they did, I couldn't find it!
We're lucky to have not stepped funny and injured ourselves. Some of that route was terrible. This was year 3 for this race. If it doesn't start pulling its act together it might have a hard time lasting. It is promising as it has a nice start/finish appeal and it fits the bill for me for the time of year. Next year I may just try doing the Hot Chocolate 15k which I think is the weekend before (if I don't end up doing the Wine and Dine :rolleyes1)

That looks awesome. I would totally head up for that one if I didn't already know that I will have a hangover that day. MIL's Christmas Glogg party is the night before.

On behalf of my family and I, to all who have served or are serving, Thank You for your sacrifice.

...For me, and I'm guessing Shawn, those are just the days in the office to do mandatory useless paperwork...

Mostly end of year reports that nobody will read.

I do have some field work if the weather permits but I had to cover my strawberries in the big city today and saw trucks spreading brine on my way back. Hoping tomorrow's road trip/meeting gets cancelled.

Hey, All! I think I did this backwards. Posted my brief bio and introduction at the other page looking to join the dads then was told to come here to get my number. It will be fun to be around such sane, rational, and like-minded guys with the right priorities - family, Disney, bacon.

James

Welcome!

Bambi picked it out. It helps her and the kids find me on the race course. I call it "Neon Snot."

:crazy2:

Does she make her own? We have for years, but probably just doing the pickled herring this year. Mom is slowing down and it would be too much to do all she used to do.

Ummmmmm..... DOLE WHIP!!!!

That's it

We make 2 pots during the party. We used to be able to send everyone home with a little bottle to battle the winter colds. The last few years we've barely had enough to save for Christmas morning. We're going to make a third pot this year. We make it with brandy but I've had it with vodka too. Traditionally it's made with Aquavit but we've yet to try that. I got a bottle as a gift so I might try it on my own.

We usually use brandy.

Sane? Rational? you got the wrong place. but welcome anyway
