Steve, the new thread is up and running
Ryan,
We echo the first two values you list there. On the third I ask my children to strive for excellence. I do not want them to "settle" and think that is all they have to put in. I came from a family where no one graduated high school or ever thought about college. They just settled. Good people, but they never pushed thier boundraies. I just want them to push themselves, but I have seen when I call it "do your best" one of my DD's turns on coast mode.
A little long winded, but those are my thoughts for waht they are worth.

DS has not gone to school all week, he's had a fever the last 2 days, well just took him to the Dr. confirmed flu, you would not be able to tell he's sick since all he wants to do is play, but he has off now till Mon
He was going to get the flu shot in Oct but he had a cold , then the storm came, then we were in WDW, followed by the Holidays, he just got the shot last week, they say you can't get sick from it but since both my wife and I both got sick the following week after getting the shot, back in Sept & Oct (different Drs different weeks) and now my DS gets sick a week later, I'm kinda having a hard time believing this![]()
We were just discussing our Comcast bill for cable, internet and phone. We are close to $300, but not quite over it yet. Had the same concerns and dropping service. I'm not even sure we watch all the channels we pay for. We do get a lot of sports channels that we watch so I'm not sure we could drop without losing them and I need to have the wireless internet for my home office so we may just be stuck with it.
As far as what dad gets in our house, it's basically whatever no one else wants.![]()
Cowboys fired Rob Ryan today.Maybe the Ryan brothers can work together for the NYJ. That would pretty much lock up the AFC East in New England for another 5 years.

Good evening fellow dads, hope all is well, DD had her first swim lesson tonight, she did great, of course as a dad I wish she wasn't afraid to dive and swim toward the teacher but I know that will come with time, I'm very proud of her and she enjoyed it and wants to keep going so that makes me very happy, the teacher had to get on her to get out because she wanted to stay in, haha
Will do! We are digging an underground tunnel from New England to Kentucky. The lobsters will be walking all the way. We'll have to figure out where to make the connection.
DW and I just celebrated our 15 year anniversary. That day DW forwarded me a pic of us from that day and it hit me that my son is closer to being my age when I got married than I am now. Really hit home with how little time we get with our kids and how important it is to really take advantage of every moment. It also emphasizes the point that "kids won't be kids long, you should probably hurry up and take them to Disney".

Will someone be at home on Friday to accept delivery? You know to make sure Stitch behaves.
Okay Disney Dads, where's the best place for good Dad chow in Magic Kingdom. I booked my family for Liberty Tree, as I recall it being good comfort food. I'm open to better options, especially if they are quick service. This used to be a double win when it was a character meal in addition to some home-style food.

It is no longer a character meal. The buffet served table side is only at dinner - turkey, potatoes, dressing, etc and you can order a la carte at lunch menu. I like the lunch menu better than dinner. A new restaurant has opened - Be Our Guest - which has had good reviews, but I've never been there. It is QS lunch and TS dinner. We usually do QS at MK, other than CRT for breakfast, but will try TS at BOG next time.
Have you posted here before? If yes, then sorry. If not, then welcome to the Dis Dad's Club.

Mark, I agree with what Norm said. QS for lunch one of our standbys is Cosmic Rays. Also want to try the Plaza Restaurant on Main Street.
Hey Norm, little old Seton Hall is only down by two to big bad Louisville at the half. Don't think it is going to last but it is fun right now.
AirGoofy said:Glad to hear it. DW had a cousin who went to McDonald's in Goodlettsville and ordered a coke. She was asked "for here or to go". She answered, "Really, it's a cup".

Did we bet on the Seton Hall v Louisville game? You are expanding schools on me.
Thanks, I just got on yesterday. I'm kind of looking for the Flametree BBQ or SciFi equivalent in MK for QS. We did CRT a few times, but I enjoyed it more than my kids... DD10 is a tomboy, and DS6 isn't a big fan of Cinderella. We end up at Crystal Palace every time lately, and I need a change! I think you are spot on with BOG, unfortunately the dinners are booked. Looks like it's a QS for lunch, so we will have to put it on our list.
AirGoofy said:I like Cosmic Rays for burgers, COlumbia Harbour House for fish, or Casey's for hotdogs. I'll just get a pretzel there as well. I liked the Plaza - a little over priced for burgers - but great milkshakes. We will probably try a TS at BoG next time.

I'll let you know if we made a wager in a little while. Since my money now goes to SH, I decided to follow their B-Ball team. Middle of the pack Big East team according to the experts.
I don't think it works that way.
DisneyGriz said:Thanks for the good advice guys, I think we'll just shoot for BoG QS at MK this year.
It seems like this crew is heavy on the Disney experience,so I'm hoping one of you have done Disney's Family Magic Tour at MK. We've been to WDW enough times that I'd like something a little different, but not the "see man behind the curtain" stuff. If anyone has tried it, I'd love to get your take on the value of it.
Also, are there many NFL junkies in this crowd? I'm a UT Volunteers fan, so I have abandoned college sports until further notice...
