We're heading to NY in March with some friends and we'll have 4 kids (2 boys 2 girls) ranging from 6-11 with us. We'd like to see a show while we are there. We're looking at the Lion King, Spiderman, Cinderella and Blue Man Group. The only thing holding us back from booking the lion king is that it seems to be substantially more expensive than the others. Does anyone have experience with any of these shows?

Ryan, we saw Lion King in Toronto, it was really awesome (not $200 per head awesome though - I think balcony tickets are great for it - lots to see and would provide a great view of everything)

This weekend we finally booked our trip. We are booked from September 29th through October 9. We plan on using my parent's time share but because it is a transfer we have to wait until we are like 90 days out. So we just booked all of the trip at AOA and will change once we're booked into the timeshare.

Now to wait for airfare to get published. :headache:

Bad news Tuesday ownage.

When the timing belt broke and busted the water pump, the engine over heated and blew the head gasket. That is another $1300 on top of the $450 for the water pump. I told him I'd think about it. I'm not worried about an upsale, as this is not his usual business practice, but the car is only worth about $2700. Do I fix it and hope to get another 5 years our of it? Or, try to sell it as is?

Ugggg... that sucks...

I am sure you already made a decision by now... (just catching up)...

But do they have a car wrecker yard 'round you... I have one right around the corner from my place. They sell used parts for a LOT cheaper than new parts.

Randall, did I ever tell you where you could stick those penguins? :confused3

Actually Randall did tell me, where you told him, he could... So I was hesitant to touch them as I was not sure if he did or not...

Hey guys...lunch break and want to bang my head against the wall over this place. Staff got me a nice cake for my departure, got my favorite kind, vanilla! Someone was upset over this, as it wasn't what THEY like, so there are actually TWO cakes now.

And people seriously wonder why I wanted to get out so badly???

:sad2:

Finally settled in for the evening....just got in from masonic funeral services for a good friend who is also the local funeral director. Needless to say the place was packed!!! For the second time I was mistaken for a funeral director myself...maybe I missed my calling.. I must look good in a black suit :rotfl2:

Sorry to hear about your friend...

As far as a career as a funeral director, I've thought about it seriously, is not only for the following reason:

I work in IT, and when a friend or family member has a problem with their computer, they call ME!!! :furious:
Is it my problem, you don't run AV software? Or are to cheap to upgrade to something other then a Pentium II processor? No I can't get you licensed software free!!

So if I were a funeral director, I am confident personal requests would minimize, and I would tell everyone "Look, I'm willing to help you ONCE... let me know when you are ready!"

Congrats. It looks like we will overlap on October 5. We are planning a resort day, Fulton's for dinner, and DTD for shopping.

The funny thing is - Crash appears to be in an unzipped light fleece jacket. Yet I have a feeling the guy holding the camera was in long underwear, snow pants, ski gloves, 3 sweatshirts, 2 jackets, a stocking cap and scarf. And somehow he stopped shivv-ve-ve-ve-ve-ering long enough to hold the camera steady for a picture.:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Deepest apologies for my lack of posting. I've been off the DIS for about a month. Things have been hectic on all fronts (not to mention a serious bout of depression and nervous breakdown after the Baltimore ravens won the SB.)

Not making excuses for my absence. Reparations must be made.
  • I have started a tab at Aloha Isle for all visiting DIS Dads to the MK.
  • I have also provided you all with a free membership to the bacon of the month club. If you don't receive your fist shipment of bacon by March 1st, let me know and I'll have a word with my logistics manager, who also happens to be my 5 year old DD.
Okay, groveling complete, sacrifices made...
Now, who can tell me in 5 bullet points or less what I may have missed over the past month?

-Snow

Nice Brent... Look at you going all 2008 on us!!!
