The invasion has begun... there's a farmer from Saskatchewan standing in our office right now talking about how they manage to keep things running up there with temps in the -30's... I didn't ask if that is F or C... and I didn't ask if he's talking about July or August. :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

As soon as I read Saskatchewan the first image that popped into my head was the dude at the water park in The Grown Ups! I started chuckling and my assistant gave me that look like I'm crazy again.:rolleyes1

Teasers! HAHAHAHA!

It seems that our Canadian re-educ.... I mean education program is working!

Southwest usually posts flights about 8 months out. They have the first part of August up now, so I would expect October airfares around March or so.
Thanks Barry. I'm getting impatient. I want to book the flight and my Mom's time share so DW will quit changing her mind on what she wants to do every two weeks.
Posted these on the other site... figured I'd shre here too...

Ice Storm 2013...

I'm playing hooky from work today... decided it would become too dangerous too quick this mornin.
:scared1::scared1::scared1:
I don't blame you. I'd rather get 6 inches of heart attack snow than ice.

This is my Back "storm" door... it was frozen shut...

Is that you locked out on the other side? :lmao: we didn't get it as bad as you, but I am home with the dds as well. I didn't realize your son was old enough for a car. Time flies.

. I want to book the flight and my Mom's time share so DW will quit changing her mind on what she wants to do every two weeks.
.

And that will prevent women from changing their mind? Bottle it. Sell it.

The not so good part is my soon to be teenage DS has been acting up with his mother and DD has started to take the cues. Pretty sure it is all my fault as usual. :headache: If this continues the furor (my wife) may demand that we do not go this year. Stupid SW airlines.:furious: If they would just open up the flight times I could get everything booked and cancelling would be too much of a bother.

It's always your fault. Although, experts say the same sex parent has most influence on their child, so clearly, DW is completely to blame for my dd's behaviors. :lmao:

You cancel work for two inches of snow?:rotfl2::rotfl2: Really? You guys are funny. We don't even notice 2 inches of snow up here. That's considered a nice, brisk winter day.

You couldn't make it here. Even if you were successful enough to manage, one of our other drivers would wipe you out.

There are articles about a new stomach virus going around that has never existed before. Glad it's in Miami and not up here.:scared: Nice to hear you are feeling better so I can get back to full force nemie mode. What are you doing today......raking the sand....shining your scuba tanks....maybe heading out for a sandwich on the waterfront? It must be tough to make up your mind.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Staying in the neighborhood this weekend. Decided to take my new found appetite out to lunch this afternoon (but not at the waterfront). The next two weekends will be spent entertaining friends in the Keys.

Just checked the dive operation I use and here is today's report:

"#Reef Report:
@Duane & Molasses
50ft of viz (no snow storm)
3ft seas (ditto)
Winds from NE 17kts
Moderate/no current
Overall a lovely day!"

Water temp is only about 74 though. Chilly.

CJ needs too get busy adding in electricity and water hookups in the front yard so I can park my camper there.

Already have a hose you can use.

Let the fun begin. I plan just to sit back and watch.

Ice Storm 2013...

Wow Nate. Good decision not to drive into work today. For safety reasons only of course.

Happy Friday boys. Had to get the shovel out this morning for the first time in a year. The couple of inches we got ended our record streak of no snowfalls of over 1" somewhere around 334 days, though they didn't get it in the city so the streak may still continue for Chicago. Still no need to get the snowblower out which is a good thing. They say it's going to be 50 on Tuesday.

Great idea! Barry, what cabin are you in?

They say the Sconnies can really appreciate a good upper decker. :headache::rolleyes1
:lmao::rotfl2:

Your an IT guy and still call to book yr DVC vacations. They do have a website now. Just hold on to the white board. DW would beat me with it if I ever mentioned such an idea, I told you she gripped the handrail so tight that she broke her engagement bring band.
I tried, but the site hiccuped when I was borrowing points from next year. Next thing I know, I'm missing 14 points.
Had to call and get it straighten out.

Shirts and signs and a little shmoozing of a CM or two might get you some pixie dust!
:thumbsup2

Yikes! Hope you have a good ice scrapper.

Thanks Barry. I'm getting impatient. I want to book the flight and my Mom's time share so DW will quit changing her mind on what she wants to do every two weeks.
To make it even worse, studies show that the best time to buy airfare is 45-60 days before you fly. Good luck holding her off until June if you want the cheapest tickets.

I had to look that up, I didn't know what you were talking about there. I don't think I could be that mean to Barry. Afterall, he may not be the first to make use of the facilities. :lmao:

I booked online last year before the new website, even borrowing 5 points. Looking forward to trying the new one.

:confused3 It never seems to be too long whenever I'm there. Maybe 15 - 45 minutes when you've got TSMM and RnR at 60+. FP's usually aren't gone too far out either, so I'd say between standby and FP's is should be doable.
Don't forget Child swap tickets....

Barry should tell the CM what they are doing and maybe he/she will just let them on again and again.

No... it would be $800 for a free Dole Whip AND a trip to Disney World.
::yes::

And if you think it would just be 1 $4 Dole Whip... :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:
You think I can get $800 worth of Dole whips in 1 trip? :rotfl2:

I just wish you could take Mark with you. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:
HAAAHAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAA

Pretty much. The weather people still like to make it into the 'End of the World' though.

I need to get myself a secretary.

I' heard the same thing. ::yes::

You are trusting using the website to do this. You should check your account again just to make sure.

I still don't understand how a company like Disney has the worst websites. :confused3

I booked online last year before the new website, even borrowing 5 points. Looking forward to trying the new one.
Good luck with that... see above.

I plan on it. When I called DVC to book the room the CM asked if we were celebrating anything, so I told her it was our 13th wedding anniversary and wre going to ride ToT 13 times. She about fell out of her chair she was so excited by the idea.
I'm also going to have some shirts made up commemorating the event and plan on taking a small white board or something so we can write the ride number on it and take a picture every time we get on.

Awesome idea! What better way to celebrate, but by visiting the 13th floor of the Hollywood Hotel! :thumbsup2

I just wish you could take Mark with you. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

:scratchin Would this be a free trip to WDW?

Oh, there would be a price to be paid..... :crazy2:

Mark, I have a feeling if we did a meet up at Disney it would be a little more sedate than most these guys.

Oh, I don't know. I like all the coasters just fine. We can just skip the death drop.:thumbsup2

I'm in the same boat with that infernal elevator. DW and DDs love it, me, not so much. I have no problem letting them go and sitting back enjoying the streets of Hollywood though.

Now he's on oil drilling and the ice roads.

I love that TV show. Apparently this guy has driven the ice roads.

By the way, one of my favorite TV shows.

Is that Joe from Saskatchewan? Tell him I say hi!. :rotfl2:

Seriously though, where I grew up in Northern Alberta, we had a couple of ice roads....and a few ice-not-roads that lead to some fun party sites in the winter months. :rolleyes1

Don't forget Child swap tickets....
Oh yes!!! Great point. Bambi's mom and dad should just grab a rider swap everytime Bambi and Barry get in line since they'll have Ryder. 13 rides should be easy to do.

But why are you trying to help him??? :rotfl2:

You think I can get $800 worth of Dole whips in 1 trip? :rotfl2:
Well, it is certainly worth a try. It isn't like you'd be paying for them. :rotfl:

Yea we 'hate' each other but do look out for one another from time to time. That's how we roll. PLUS it is in our nemesis contract.

Eat 10 puke 'em up, eat 10 puke 'em up, etc....

Classic. :thumbsup2

The problem with Rider Swap (or Ryder swap, as the case may be) is that it only allows one adult on at a time. Kind of defeats the idea of doing this as an anniversary celebration.

Awesome idea! What better way to celebrate, but by visiting the 13th floor of the Hollywood Hotel! :thumbsup2
And then the 7th floor, then the 12th floor, then the 3rd floor, then the 13th floor again. Wait a second....wait a second....wait a then the 5th floor, then the .... ::yes::

September - July?:confused3

Eat 10 puke 'em up, eat 10 puke 'em up, etc....
I have a feeling after about the third set of 10, I can just put the second set of ten back in the cups and you probably wouldn't tell the difference.

Sorry, that is not the case. You can have up to 3 people ride with the child swap ticket. :thumbsup2

Maybe that's it. I never read the fine print.

And that will prevent women from changing their mind? Bottle it. Sell it.
My hope it the change fees would be expensive enough to keep her from changing her mind. We have the arrival date set. Everything else is still in motion. How long do we stay, where do we stay, and even how the hell do we get down there? Each has changed at least three times. If I was the sole decision maker we would have booked this around Thanksgiving and would now just be worried about saving enough.

Don't you dare tell DW that.

Water temp of 74 is chilly? I don't think the lakes around here get much above that in July. I know Superior doesn't.
