My wife asked my tonite if i wanted any kind of tools for Christmas

I have a nice set, but there is something I would like, I don't even know if they still make them, I want a old school drill the kind you have to crank, these are the best for thin or soft wood, dry wall etc they don't have a lot of torque, so they don't break or oversize what your drilling into

All the new stuff is fast and easy but if you want true craftsmanship you have to go Old School

Do they still sell these or is she going to have to search a flea market or swap meet for one

I agree. Some of the best tools I own are passed down from a couple generations ago. They all hold up much better than today's tools.

Last night we took the kids to Disney on Ice. The kiddos had a blast. DS got a bit bored during the princess stuff. So he starts looking around trying to figure out how everything worked. DD didn't blink the whole time.

Picked up the tickets today for DW, they are going on the 27th, she won the tix. I can't go, can't get a shift to accomidate the time.

This is where a Union works in your favor, I can get off most days with reason, but it seems like there are always days or weeks I want to take vacation that always seem to be a problem, I have gotten more aggressive over the years on getting days I want offf OFF, when the intimidation card doesn't work for them with treats that both sides know the Union would not allow, you go for the give and take method, usually it means I'll leave them in great shape and when I come back I have to fix everthing and play catch up

I work 6 days a week, although Union contract says I only need to work 5 day a week with a optional 6th and can be mandatory 1 week a month, hey I'll take the extra $700 a month but when I want a day off give it to me, I still have 1 Personal I have to use by the end of the year and 6 sick days I'll take a check for, and with that I still went all those places this year

I'm kind of a loose cannon, you never know what to expect, when the powers that be that be show up for their once a year tour some stay clear of our area, once the 2nd in the company grid to tell me how do something and I threw down a cutter and told him to show us how it's done, my boss almost died right there, needless to say they left and never came down to my part again, but there are some big shots that want to see you and know who you are, and might say something but when you give them a answer it's all good, even though my boss will be sweating, there boss has done the job before and understands, these are the guys I can relate too since they actually worked up the ladder

Issue is, vacation days caanot be taken during the winter break, longstanding agreement. Sure, I can get my day off moved to that day, but I'd lose the more valuable Saturday off. The show is 12pm, no way I could go to the show and make it for my 2-10:30 shift. The other show is 4pm, same deal. I'm not devestated over it, DW is going to bring one of her cousins along, the girls'll love that. Nothing I can do union wise can change it. I on;y work 3 days that week as it is.

I might have seen one at Lowes last time I was hunting for something else.

Patriots are just dismantling the Texans tonight. Now the run game is just destroying the D line. Looks like it's a pretty open race for the AFC. I originally thought it was Houston and everyone else. I'm guessing a lot of people will take notice of Houston's inability to stop the Pats and Shaub's weaknesses.

Also on another not, closing company received my papers today so just waiting on the sellers papers and then we can close, hopefully it won't take long , I've read some post of sellers taking weeks to send in their docs

Getting slapped every time doesn't sound right. I can see once in a while, but every time probably indicates you need to change strategy a little.

Congrats again on the DVC, hopefully it goes quickly.
