DD off to snow-bound New York this morning...

Typical teenager - she seems quite excited by the fact they've been given meal vouchers

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

As long as there's food and duty free, then I bet they're having a great time.

I hope that she has a great time away :)

I hope you bundled her up with scarves, hats, gloves and boots. It's freezing over here. Winter has hit with a vengeance.

26 Fahrenheit forecast for parts of Florida tonight! It's warmer here!!! :scared1: :cold:

Not often you hear that!!

I hope your DD has a great time in NYC, I got to go there on a school trip when I was 14. A group of fourty 14 and 15yr olds - I pitied the teachers even then! We flew to NYC and had a few days there followed by a few days in Washington DC with a day in Philadelphia en route. It was absolutely brilliant being in a foreign country without parents for the first time, especially as I'd never been to the USA before.

Well, they eventually got there okay and, at the end of their short trip, DD was due to fly out of NY at 19:20 last night, arriving Heathrow 07:10 this morning...

They had all boarded their flight last night and then were told there was a crew member ill and they'd have to get off again! So they disembarked, were put up in a hotel for what was left of the night, with a call this morning at 3:00 am to return to the airport for their flight which eventually took off at 07:10! They got into Heathrow 12 hours later than scheduled, but didn't have the chance to make the most of the extra time in NY as most of it was spent in the airport!

I'm off to meet her from the coach back from Heathrow at about midnight :)

Crikey Hilary, that sounds like a trip and a half!

I'm sure your DD had a fantastic time despite all of the problems she encountered :goodvibes

All back, safe and sound and, yes, they had a good time! :thumbsup2
