DD got her new doll today. Mia is probably our new favorite. She is very pretty. The only thing is her seems to come out easy. SHe was out of the box for and hour and I smoothed her hair and had several strands come out :confused3 . This hasn't happened with her other 3 AG dolls. I have read on this board that the Julie doll had similar issues with her hair. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

AG has the absolutely BEST customer service of any mail order company I have ordered from. Just call them, and ask for their advice - which is they will most likely send you a new one, and have you return the defective one.

Ok- I have a question. DD is trying to pick out a doll to ask Santa for- she doesn't know she will get if for her bday in June. Anyway, she really loves Mia, Emily or Nelly, and some of the 'just like you dolls'. DD8 is sandy blonde. Exactly how red is Mia's hair. DD seems to think it looks kinda brownish-red and I'm afraid she may be disappointed if it is very red- say strawberry red.
I'd definitely call AG. From what I've read here, they have wonderful customer service with these issues.

we just received our replacement Julie doll. dd is afraid to brush her hair after her 1st Julie shed everywhere.. poor doll was shedding still when I put her in the return box..:confused3 the lady with customer service said it sometimes takes alittle time for the weave to set and to brush the hair with the AG brush. maybe give that a try and if it doenst work- I would call..

Yeah I would call customer service, I am getting ready to because my DDs got Nicki, Julie, Molly, and Emily for Christmas and we found a chunk (not a whole lot, but a smallish chunk) of Molly's braid was cut, Julie's hair is shedding like crazy, and Nicki is losing a lot of her hair too and we can't fix her curls either...oh and we have only used the bruch and pick comb that came from AG. I know it's not a HUGE deal, but still, I paid good money for these dolls, I expect to get what I pay for. :)

I hope this isn't another sign of things to come. I saw a difference in the dolls after Mattel took over, they seemed to have problems whereas prior to that we never had any issues. We had three Jesses (crooked heads, really crooked...the one we have still has a slight tilt). Loose arms and legs, etc. Josephina's hair was really crooked, but okay as long as it's in the braid.

If her hair keeps shedding I will call customer service. DD will be devasted though. SHe wanted to come home early from school today so she could play with her ;) .

Mia's hair is strawberry blonde, but much lighter than Emily. Emily has a darker red hair and Mia's is lighter. We have both of them. I would even say closer to a golden blonde. Mia is definately not sandy blonde though. I would say Mia's hair is lighter than Emily's and a tad darker than Nellies. My DD has a just like you doll that is sandy blonde and she is very pretty but I'm not crazy about the bangs.

Wow, I can't believe all the problems with the dolls! My DD has 15 of them and we don't have any issues with any of them, of course she doesnt play with them either, there just for display. I would definetly call them, there great to deal with. Good luck :thumbsup2

Wow. I'm amazed at just HOW popular these AG dolls are. My sister and I have had Molly & Samantha now for about 15 years. And they've done nothing but sit in their desks, making the front room look pretty at our parent's house! I think that we were 10 & 12 when we got them, but were always so afraid to play with them. We'd changed an outfit here and there, but never touched the hair! :scared1: Of course, if something happened to them I'm sure our grandmother would have mamed us!

Those older dolls are going for a premium....especially the white bodied ones, keep them nice!

Are you serious?! How much are you talking? I know that they aren't cheap to begin with, but I can't imagine someone paying more than face value for the dolls.
