She was convinced she wasn't going to do that well, but she did! :teeth:

44 out of a class of 286. Pretty good stuff.

My dd got her rank in August & she is a sophmore. Her school is pretty competitive so we knew it will be struggle to get up there.
She is 293/700.
Congrats to your DD!!!:thumbsup2

im 12 out of 277 ( i think it is around 277..) but after this year ( my sophmore year) I really think my goal of valedictorian and a nice class rank could be over with.. I might actually be getting a B in chemistry honors or Alg. II trig honors. These classes are so difficult besides the fact that marching band activities allow no time once so ever for me to have enough time to study for tests that always seem to be on the worst days. I love band so much, I just couldn't quit it even if it meant giving up my goal.. :sad2:

coolshannie....

Taking challenging coursework and being involved is a lot more important that being valedictorian. Sorry you think your goal might be out of reach, but IMO you are achieving a lot more important goals.

Too many kids these days take the easier road to keep that precious 4.0.

Congrats to all of the kids on this thread that are doing very well! :thumbsup2

I graduated 4th in my class two years ago, which excited me. If I hadn't done so poorly in Chemistry as a junior and Biology as a senior, I probably could have been valedictorian.

Those darned sciences! ;)

If it weren't for math EVER, I might have made it into the top 50 anyway. :teeth:

Thank you! I mean Im learning so much.. its just the grades that are suffering. My parents understand that it is hard for me to balance everything out. As for valedictorian you have to achieve a 4.7 at my school.. ( We have the AP program.. im taking my first ap class this year in world history, and I must admit it is my favorite class. It is so much work but the teacher is wonderful.. and this year is so difficult but there is just so much knowledge and things that we are learning, its just great!) Sorry i kind of Hijacked this thread.. i just wanted to state that although I really really want my goal im perfectly happy like this because I will do anything to get that one last drop of information that my teachers will teach me.. especially in band.. i just think it helps me so much in school to consentrate and focus, and appreciate everything. I wish that everyone would see that doing something extra is so great to teach you patience and understanding of importance in academics ect...
