DD Dancing Trip to DLRP 22nd 26th Oct 2006 Part 2/5
Monday 23rd Oct 2006 part one
Woke before 6 and couldnt get back to sleep!! Thought this only happened in USA with the time difference!! Eventually got DH, DD and DS up and went to breakfast in the Yacht Club at 7.30am. Our lasting memories of 6 years ago were queuing up the stairs to get in what a difference! We walked straight in and it was almost empty. Had a very nice breakfast, kids had cereal, juice, pain au chocolat, DH had EVERYTHING! I had lovely fruit salad and croissants. It started to get busier around 8am and we left shortly after. Met some of our group in the lobby and they had had breakfast in the Cape Cod, which again hadnt been too busy. While we were waiting there Mickey and then Goofy appeared so it was the first character queues and photos!
Mickey and boys!
My cousin and kids and aunt came down but by then the breakfast queue was at the stairs so they decided to give it a miss and grab something in the park. We all set off and walked through the village into the Disneyland Park, stopping in the village for some Halloween pics!

We got through the park turnstiles very easily and there didnt seem too many in the park, we got in just before the rope drop, but were waiting at the stroller rental when it actually happened! It was a very pleasant stroll along Main Street with stops for photos, lots of Halloween figures and decorations; weve never been at this time of year before. At the end of main street, my cousin decided to try one of the cafés for breakfast and we said wed catch up with them later they went into Victorias with no reservations, got a table straight away and didnt realise it was a character breakfast what a start to the hols for the kids!! They got lots of autographs and had a very nice cooked breakfast.

Weather wise it was warm but cloudy, there were a couple of showers later in the day but nothing like the heavy rain the long range weather forecast had said.
Our group of 10 headed into Discoveryland and the new Buzz ride first. We waited 10-15 mins. Everyone loved this ride, wed done it in WDW but it is different. I got the high score of 142,000 level 4!! YES!! All others were a mediocre level 2!! HA! Star Tours next, pausing to watch Space Mountain on the way, starting to psyche ourselves up for this one! Star Tours was as good as ever! We sat in the front row and had virtually walked all the way to the turnstiles so not much of a wait. All our group was impressed by the theming on the walk in.
Nautilus next which was a let down; I remembered it being a bit better last time. So we carried on into Fantasyland and Its a Small World again different to WDW but still good. The queue looked big but was only about 10 minutes. Even my friends boy liked this one; I suppose every one does the first time!
The queues for Pinocchio, snow white, peter pan were all around 45 mins, we decided to pass on all these, yes theyre good but our kids wanted the bigger rides so it wasnt worth waiting that long. We headed for lunch in Chalet du Marionette (or something like that!) and it was good. Kids had burgers and fries and ice cream, I had a hot dog with sauerkraut (sp?) and others had salads, burgers, and my friend had omelette in a bun, which we thought had been lost in the translation, but NO it was an omelette in a bun!!! HA HA! Very weird was the verdict! Cost for us 2 adults and 2 kids around 30 euros, including drinks.
We bumped into my cousin, aunt and kids sitting near dumbo eating toffee apples!! As you do!! We all went on Pirates and it was great! Yet again different to WDW and little Eve aged 2 wasnt impressed! Oops!! There seemed to be a lot of boats working so the queue was about 5 mins, possibly less. The Blue lagoon looked lovely, wished Id booked it, but not sure if kids would have liked the menu choices! On our way again and we bumped into Captain Jack Sparrow! Only thing was he wouldnt stand still! Hed get an autograph book and pen, hold them in front of his eyes writing and march off in different directions! Our kids all followed him; he really did look like the pied piper! All the way to the other side of skull rock he went, thankfully they got his autograph and returned!!
