DD accepted into Disney college program

My daughter was justed accepted into the Disney College Program for this summer. Super proud and excited for her.

I'm wondering if there are any parents out there that can give us some advice on what she needs to take with her. Disney lists the minimum (linens, towels, ...) but I'm wondering what other people found useful to have with them.

Right now DD is fly down. Has anyone driven down so that they had a car available?

Any general advice?

No advice for your DD, but I just wanted to send our my congrats to her. What an awesome experience!

I did the International program many many years ago and there were several people who had driven down from Canada .

I have looked at the college board but there isn't much advice for Canadian kids. Luckily DD found a Facebook group that is proving to be helpful.

I think we've settled on her flying down. A car would be convenient but she's only going to be there for three months.

It's going to be a great experience for her. The really funny thing is that 10 days after she comes home we're going back for vacation.

I did the international program many years ago, before there was facebook(that would have been nice to have back then I think) I got a lot of info and met people at Wdwip.com which looks like it may still be around. But I believe it's more geared to those doing the IP program. When I first got down there, via plane, did a Walmart run and bought all our linens, food and such. They did have a decent bus system back then that included one to Walmart

DD did the college program a few years back ..she was one of the haunted mansion maids lol ..and she also did the cultural rep program. She didn't take a car either time , Disney have a great bus system In place for them to get most everywhere and sometimes they would rent a car for a day to go to other places such as cocoa beach for the day as thy get CM rates on rentals. What a fabulous experience..she made wonderful friends she sees still very often. In fact, we're all heading to the Fantasy shortly where one she met there in th college program works now...lifelong pals. Have fun!! It's amazing..

This year marks 19 years since I started the IP and I still see many of my friends from the program regularly. I also am married to a guy I met on the program It's so unique there is nothing else like it.
