DD 1st birthday celebrations ruined

When I was pregnant with DD we ate in Cafe Mickey and saw loads of birthday celebrations and decided then this is what we would do for DD 1st birthday . Have her cake with the loud birthday music playing out over the restaurant.

Well I paid for a cake , rang to make a reseveration for her birthday and was told Cafe Mickey is closed all week Theres nothing online about this

I feel upset as weve been telling the eldest and everyone who will listen about her having her cake here and have planned it for 16 months

Apparently this week the characters are at the Steak House

We saw a child have their birthday cake at Inventions and it was very boring Mickey came over after but that was it. In cafe mickey we saw several characters come over dancing etc

Would you not be willing to go to the steakhouse instead if the characters are there!

We have been here for a character brunch on a Sunday before and it was brilliant!

Do they still do the character tea party? That's quite good for birthdays.

we have bought her a cake though and it'll be too much cake for the kids, they would probably get a sugar rush

If I had known Cafe Mickey was closed I would of possibly gone for this as Ive a huge sweet tooth

How about asking if you can have the cake brought to you at the character lunch at the Cowboy Cookout? I don't think you'll get the same music etc as at Cafe Mickey, but you do get the characters in cowboy outfits .

Saw birthday cakes at inventions Sunday brunch, Lilo and stitch did the birthday cake and made a real fuss of the wee boy...

Birthday cakes at cowboy cookout last week as well, all the characters gathered and had kids up dancing, only thing though as I said to my DH, woody just stood about in cowboy cookout this time and he seemed to only come back out every second time th characters changed... But if you are not fussy about woody it does have a fun atmosphere.

I can't remember a cake but the little boy next to us was celebrating his birthday mickey and Minnie came and sat with him and had loads of photos with him! It was his 4th birthday and his eyes just lit up when he saw all the characters was really lovely!
