So, I've been considering auditioning for the face characters at Disney World for DCP. I am well aware of how the audition process goes, but I'm a little curious about the requirements. I'm right in the middle for height. (5'5 1/2) Does anyone know what sizes the costumes go to? Do they look for any particular face features, like big eyes or a set face shape? Thanks!!

Alot of times with face characters they want you to look close enough to the girl who currently plays the character you're auditioning for. I had done some asking around my last CP and spoke with the girl who was "friends with Belle" and she said they look for girls that are practically twins to each other. It keeps it consistant with each princess in the park and it doesn't kill the magic for the guests. Though some of the AUrora's looked a bit "interesting".

There's a vlog done by two former disney princesses on youtube called confessions of a disney princess and they literally go through almost everything you would need to know for being a Disney Princess.

Unless something has changed recently, you won't be able to audition to just be a face character for the DCP. The entertainment auditions are for face and fur characters and for parade dancers (if you're an excellent dancer), but you can't pick which you're auditioning for, so you basically audition for all of them.

I don't believe it's common for DCP folks to be picked as face characters (though certainly not impossible), and if you are a face character you will also have to be fur.

I've been told by a former Disney princess that the dress sizes vary greatly, so the most important thing if your face and height (though I'm sure body shape is considered to a point). One thing I've noticed about the friends of the princesses is that they tend to have large eyes and long, thinner faces.

I went to the CP face character audition at the beginning of my CP in 2011 and I was chosen to be friends with Belle. There were about 280 girls who auditioned and they chose about 8 or 9 of us. There were actually two of us who were chosen to be friends with Belle and we don't look a lot alike at all! Also I've seen sooooo many princesses who look completely different. I think the most important part is to be able to deliver the lines accurately once your chosen. I have a thick Cajun accent so I'm pretty confident that was what killed my chances. :lmao: I was not expecting to make it very far at all in the audition and l almost didn't even go! Just in case you're curious, this is (the only) picture I have from my audition.

It was one of the best experiences of my life, I'm so glad I went. I hope you do well and I wish you the best of luck!!! :thumbsup2

So I attended one of the auditions for fall 2014 character performers and made it past the cut. After we all auditioned for the last time that day, they asked a few people to stay afterwards. I have heard that that is because they are considering those people as face characters?

I was just wondering if only the people pulled aside would be considered for face characters or if everyone was considered once they go back to make the final decisions. I would love to be any of the entertainers that they need (Fur, Face, and parade dancer) so I was just curious!

Also, if you get accepted as a character performer, will the email tell you if you are a character or a parade dancer? Thanks!! :stitch2:

Hi,
My daughter was chosen and photographed at the recent tryouts for potentially being a face character. From that point on, how long did it take for you to hear and did they at that point let you know what role you would play? She is excited just to be going and has accepted her basic role but would obviously be thrilled to get either a face or fur role. Much like you, she very nearly didn't go to the audition, nearly convinced herself that she wouldn't make it through the dances and it wasn't worth the attempt. She is so happy she went that day now though!

Hmm, I'm not sure, my audition went differently. Once the chose the 8 or 9 of us, they told us which face character they would be trying us as. We were photographed after we were already in the respective character's costume/wig/makeup. After that audition, we got a call maybe 2 or 3 days later which simply let us know if they were going to keep us or not! I already knew which character I was chosen for since I already wore the costume and everything, so I'm not sure what your daughter's phone call will be like, but I'm sure it will come just as quickly! I know how agonizing the wait is! :rotfl:

I'm just thinking of this now, did she audition AT Disney or in another city? That could be why she was photographed but not put into costume/wig/makeup...maybe they don't bring all of that to auditions in other cities?? Not sure. I did my audition while I was already on my CP, and the audition was help at AK.

Either way, BEST OF LUCK!!! I am crossing my fingers for her!! :yay:

Thanks,
that is very helpful, she did audition in another city so that would explain the differences. There were no costumes to try on, and I have not seen anyone post acceptances for face characters yet so I assume nobody from this round has heard yet. She is excited about the possibilities though.
thanks again
