Curious how the bus transport is being managed from MCO with the start up of cruising. Hopefully someone on the Dream will update us.
1) assigned times based on port arrival time?
2) Vax vs unVaxed?
3) Where does the bus drop off at port

I have been wondering about this protocol as well, but from the resort to the port. Very curious how they'll handle #2. I figure they'll have to arrange for separate buses because the first thing the unVaxed need to do is test at the port.

Since buses fall under federal rule, all passengers on the bus must wear masks.

I think they are putting people in separate lines at drop off.

Private busses fall under that too? I was unaware of that.

This is the rule:

"All passengers on public conveyances (e.g., airplanes, ships*, ferries, trains, subways, buses, taxis, ride-shares) traveling into, within, or out of the United States (including U.S. territories) as well as conveyance operators (e.g., crew, drivers, conductors, and other workers involved in the operation of conveyances), regardless of their vaccination status, are required to wear a mask over their nose and mouth."

A "public conveyance" doesn't necessarily mean "run by the state." Which is why Disney World is requiring masks on their buses and monorails, and why ride-shares and taxis (which are private hire) require masks.

I received this information from my travel agent so take it with a grain of salt.

" I called Disney Cruise Line and spoke with “Bradley” he said that parties will be socially distanced from each other on the bus and masks are required. He then went to “Connor” in Guest Services who said that as far as someone on the bus testing positive Disney does not have a set policy in place, it would be reviewed on a case by case basis but you would essentially have to have been in close contact with that person. "

I had Disney transportation booked from the Hyatt to the port, but I'm going to rent a car instead.

I didn't realize that was the "why" for the disney resort transportation. I was reading this as applying to greyhound, amtrak, airlines, etc. I didn't make the connection to the DCL port bus. Thanks for sharing.

Ugh - I have been waiting to hear about this and had hoped they would have vaccinated vs. unvaccinated busses. We are booked on DCL transport, but I don't want to risk being a close contact by accident on the bus. Might as well cancel transport from MCO and Hyatt MCO to a resort by the port - any suggestions? Something nice for adults.

I'm super happy that our first cruise back is out of San Diego, where I can drive to the port. One less thing to lose sleep over.

Fl tours is great transportation. we have used them several times.

Honestly you want to be on the unvaccinated bus since everyone on the bus had been tested negative in the prior 5 days. On the vaccinated bus you could have people without symptoms.

Personally though we are just renting car and staying at country inn and suites where it's $40 for parking the whole cruise along with a included shuttle.

I literally just rented a car and booked a room at the Country Inn and Suites for my October cruise on the Fantasy.

I think we will just switch to a hotel near the port and Uber to the terminal.

Has anyone heard if concierge are getting priority for the first bus?

I think it depends on what the goal is - avoiding getting Covid, or not being turned away at the port. Those are really two different issues.

I get your point here. But, if there is a vaccinated bus all of those people would go right to security and not be tested at the port, at least under the current procedures. So, if people are turned away at the port they would be coming from the bus carrying unvaccinated persons and that’s where you might have a close contact issue. Of course, I do not know if Disney is separating their buses at all. I have seen reports that they are distancing people on the buses and so that would help the process. And of course, everyone on the bus has to wear a mask.

I would guess that part of the reason for the double testing that Disney is currently requiring is that they don’t actually know who took the test if you ordered one of the at home kits that you do yourself.

I would not be surprised to see the cruise line decide to do a rapid test on all arriving guests, if current patterns of Covid transmission continue.

Incorrect it could include foreign visitors who need to be tested. It could also include americans who recently returned from outside the country. These groups also don't need the advanced testing from my understanding so not pretested but tested at port. (example of that was both JoJo and Kyle from YouTube but they drove themselves to port)

That's if they are splitting up the busses which we don't know.

Also who knows where vaccinated parents with unvaccinated children would be put.

I really doubt Disney would separate you on the DCL bus right before putting everyone on the same ship. From what people have said above it sounds like they are keeping parties separate so you should not be considered having 'close contact'.

How are they going to run the busses from MCO? I haven’t been able to find anything on that. Even DCL doesn’t know! Someone at DCL G’s Ltd me last night they are still running them starting around 9:30. That’s the second time I’ve been told that. But that can’t be right since you can’t get into the port until 1. You would think they would know now that a cruise has gone out. That’s why i called yesterday.

Are they going to do it by port arrival times/boarding group #’s? And start around 11:30 or so? They are being very strict at the port on arrival times so you can’t get there early. So i have no idea and this discussion is making me a little nervous.

We’ve done a bunch of cruises but this is all new. We thought taking DCL transportation this time made the most sense since you figure they would have it all figured out. But nobody knows anything.

Best guess is start later (11:30ish) by port arrival times? Hopefully we will hear feedback soon from people that have done it. We go in two week so trying to figure out what to do!

Just getting off the Disney Dream! As soon as we got to the airport we checked in with the bus. They give you a ticket and everyone is separated based on arrival time. Once they called our bus (we were first) they took the concierge from our group first. Then we all boarded.

the bus dropped off at a central location in groups. You embark and disembark the bus in groups of 8-10. They check your documents and split between unvaccinated and vaccinated. Vaxed go ahead and unvaccinated go to the tent for testing. a cast member will walk you over. They scan your port arrival at the tent and direct you to the testing station. Adult family member completes swab under direction of inspire staff. Then you wait at another tent.

hope that helps!
