DCL transfers from WDW: can we carry our own luggage?

We are a party of 4 adults who will be traveling with only carryon luggage. We will be taking DCL transfers from WDW to the port.

Can we take our luggage with us on the DCL bus (I understand it will need to go under the bus) and then check it in ourselves at the port?

It will eliminate a lot of stress for some of my family members if we have our luggage with us when we board the bus, but none of us are keen on rolling it all over the ship until our stateroom is available.

I’m just not sure if the bus drops us off where we can access luggage check in or if we have to haul everything we bring on the bus to the ship.

Nevermind, I reread. From WDW and not from the airport so my post made no sense.
We've only done from the airport where we checked our luggage with DCL at the bus pick-up area and they have a separate truck that takes the luggage.

I haven't used DCL transfers from WDW since the end of 2019. At that time, we took our luggage to the bus ourselves and had them put it under the bus. At the port, they kept it with all of the other luggage and brought it onto the ship for us. It wasn't a problem.

Last mo we took DCL transfer from WL. We placed our carry-on under the bus.
