DCL Transfer from FLL to Port Everglades

Did our check in at midnight. Even though we are using DCL transport from FT L airport to port we were assigned a PAT OF 11:30-11:45. What happens if our DCL shuttle arrives at say 10:30/10:45. Will we have to wait till 11:30 to be permitted into the terminal?

We used DCL transfers in San Diego and also had 11:30 PAT, they took us in as a group as soon as we arrived at the port terminal, which was before our PAT time. But, we still needed to wait for our boarding group to be called.

We booked DCL transfer from Fort Lauderdale airport to Port Everglades for our trip later this month on the Dream. It was the same price as the shuttle offered by our hotel and ensured a better boarding group.

Any idea where it picks up at FLL? Our hotel has a free shuttle from the hotel to the airport so we will use that and I'd like to be able to tell the driver where to drop us off.

It was incredibly easy. We got boarding group 3 or 4, and being our first Disney cruise, allowed us to get on the ship much earlier.

What hotel did you stay at in Fort Lauderdale and would you recommend it?

Marriott Fort Lauderdale airport at Dania Beach. It’s a brand new hotel, free shuttle to and from the airport, and has a rooftop pool. It’s walking distance from an outdoor mall with dining and shopping.

We would absolutely stay there again. We preferred the Fort Lauderdale port vs Port Canaveral due to the close proximity of the airport and Port area. It really makes sailing out of there incredibly easy.

It was a year & a half ago at this point, so I’m fuzzy on the details. I do have a picture of my daughters sitting at the airport terminal, after check-in with DCL, waiting for them to announce our character so we could board the bus. The picture is time stamped at 9:16 am.

We waited a bit at the airport, I do remember that. I’m also a person that will arrive one hour early for everything. I think the first bus was around 10 am. With as early as we arrived at the airport (I think we left around 8 am from our hotel), we were still the second bus, I believe.

if you already have DCL transportation on your reservation when check in window opens, it will not give you a chance to pick PAT.

We have stayed at that Marriott twice before, most recently for our July 5th cruise. Very nice hotel. We took a private van service to the port since we had 16 in our group.

For our upcoming Destiny cruise in January we are torn as we have 3 couples going with all different castaway club status. I'd like to have all of us board at the same time so leaning toward the Hilton Marina and taking the DCL shuttle. I am Pearl and we have a Platinum and Silver couple. Anything under a 7 day cruise I want to board as early as possible to make the most of the cruise. Boarding early is important to me.
