DCL Shuttle from WDW to boat

Two questions about the Disney shuttle on Saturdays (Magic)

1. Is it available to anyone who is staying at a WDW resort, INCLUDING a DVC villa?

2. What time is the earliest one can be picked up and taken to the boat?

The bus has one pick up from each of the resorts that are serviced. There is no pick up from the budget resorts (all stars). A few years ago, there was no pick up from Old Key West (the bellman took us over to Port Orleans to catch the DCL bus), but when we were there in Feb. this year, we saw the DCL bus pick up at OKW on Thursday (Wonder day). There is definitely pick up from the other DVC resorts.

There is one bus pick up. Depending on the resort, pick up time ranges from 11:15 - 12:30.

The "break even" point on cost is generally 3 people. If there are more than 3 of you, you can take a private towncar for less money than the DCL bus, and it will leave on YOUR schedule.

Since it will be 2 adults and 6 kids, I'll have to figure out what a taxi van costs for a ride there.

Any reccomendations?

I would DEFINETLY go with the 8 passenger van from a town car service disney charges about $50.00 per person... that would be from resort to ship and back to the airport.....

We had 6 people and just rented a car for about $50 and returned it in Cape Canaveral.

DCL Transportation will get you to the boat VERY late.

We made the mistake of taking DCL transportation and found almost all reservations gone when we got there.

I would never take DCL transportation from WDW to the boat again.

I just happen to see the response from Rence... I did book DCL transportation from the hotel... I hope we don't get there too late in case we want to sign up for things...
