Okay, I just booked our March 2005 cruise with our
travel agent (Costco - terrific by the way!) and she was very confident that they are moving a ship, via a special cruise through the Panama Canal to LA. She said they have made arrangements to share the port space with one of the other cruise lines that operates out of San Pedro (LA) - but I couldn't remember which one she said it was. They will be offering Mexican Riveria Cruises through the summer months and using
Disneyland's 50th Anniversary as the promotion. Then, at the end if the summer, it will have a special cruise, through the Canal again, back to it's home in Florida.
She also said if this is successful, which it will be, they'll probably just add a permanent third ship to LA down the road.
I hope they do a combination of short cruises and long cruises. They could do that in Florida as well. Just alternate 3 day and 4 day cruise one week and a 7 day the next.
