Please help!! I've already learned so much from this forum. As a first time DCL cruiser I have a couple of questions. We are sailing on the Fantasy, 7 day western Caribbean with Star Wars day at sea on February 20th.

1) Can you tell me which characters we are likely to see on the ship? This is a common question from my DS7 and DD4. They are so excited about this. I know nothing is guaranteed but any information from past cruises would be great.

2) Is there somewhere I can find past Navigators to familiarize myself with them and get a sense for what may happen on our itinerary?

3) I'm unsure how the formal nights are structured. Are there 2 of them? Can anyone lend clarity?

4) Any reviews on Nachi Cocom on Cozumel? This was mentioned in a thread and I'm intrigued to hear more.

Thank you so much in advance for your insight. I can't imagine how people survive without a place like this to go to for information.

Almost all Disney characters...Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofey, Pluto, Chip & Dale, Tinker Bell, Peter Pan, & Captain Hook. We also saw Sofia the First & Jake pirate. As for princesses, sometimes they vary. On our sailing, Ariel was out to sea visiting her family. :-)

Not sure where to direct you for the navigator but I highly suggest taking a highlighter & each day mark what you want to do that day bc there is so much!! And dont try to do it all in a day, take time to relax, the characters are on board all week. Characters also make special surprise appearances in the kids club.

1 formal & 1 semi formal night. Get dressed up early & head to atrium, lots of photo ops available.

We are headed to Cozumel in Oct & Nachi Cocum is on our radar too.

There's the main gang, obviously (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto), plus Daisy and Chip & Dale make regular photo appearances. My three cruises also had Stitch, I can't remember if they were on my first two but the latest (Nov 2015 on the Fantasy) had Peter Pan, Woody and Jesse as well. If your cruise has pirate night (unsure if there's still pirate night on the SW cruises?), the characters will be in pirate costumes and there's usually Captain Hook, Mr Smee, Jack Sparrow, etc out that day. The same goes for formal night where the characters get nicely dressed up too. The princesses should also make an appearance at some point, if I recall correctly on my Fantasy cruise it was when the Prince & Princess menu was offered at dinner, in the later part of the cruise. I recall Cinderella, Belle, Ariel and Tiana at the very least. On the last night of the cruise they usually get a selection of characters back out where you can get some quick snaps on your own (no DCL photographers). It was at that event that I got some cool photos with Pirate Stitch on the Magic, and some selfies with Tiana and Donald on the Fantasy :)

Formal night is usually the second night of the cruise. It's not compulsory, but I've always taken part and I would say at least 80% of the guests make the effort. There are lots of photo opportunities in the lobby atrium, not only with the characters (as I said above they are all in their lovely formal clothes as well!) but also with the crew. The officers and the captain will generally all be out and you can mingle. Free drinks, including alcoholic, are on offer as well. I'm not big on getting dressed up for pirate night (the bandana that DCL provides is enough for me), but formal night is right up my alley, I love it! Like I said, there are some guests that don't bother dressing up, which is absolutely fine, but they stick out like a sore thumb ;)

There's also a semi-formal night in the latter half of the cruise. Again not compulsory by any means. On formal night I will wear my full suit, on semi-formal night I will wear just the trousers and shirt. The proper formal night is the big one though. :)

So glad Ariel was on my latest cruise, she's my favourite princess! And she was such a sweetheart!
