We have cruised with DCL in May and Sept before and enjoyed it immensely. We are now considering sailing on the 4-night cruise 6/18/06. For all of those who have cruised in the summer before, what should we expect in the way of weather, crowds, etc. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

We have sailed at this time. The ship is generally full because it is summer. Even full, the ship doesn't seem that way. Nassau was very, very hot. Schedule a water excursion not a walking tour!!!

We had a great time on both Wonder trips and sailing the Magic in June as well.

It's nice to see another Columbus diser!!!!

Thanks for the help. We tend to stay on the ship while at port so I am sure we can find shelter from the heat! Any other info, suggestions out there??

My DH and I just returned from the 7 day West Coast. Wonderful cruise but I was so very surprised at the large number of kids running everywhere. There were 1100 (I believe) kids on board and it kind of looked like the vast majority of them spent little or no time in their clubs. It was also very noisy even in the staterooms due to kids running the halls. Don't know why but it was vastly different than our last week of August 04 cruise aboard the Wonder. We only saw a couple of kids outside of the clubs or the family pools during that cruise. Now, before anybody "barks" at me as a kid-hater, I'm the mother of four grown kids and six grandkids who will all be cruising with me in early May on a 7-day Western. I'll be interested to see how our little cruisers respond to the clubs. We are taking kids out of school to do this cruise and after the 7-day West Coast melee I'm glad we've decided to do it this way. A good tip is to make sure you are on the late dinner rotation and to book yourself some Rainforest Spa time for complete relaxation.

We do enjoy the late dinner rotation! Our kids have thoroughly enjoyed the clubs in the past. I am surprised that it appeared to be such a large number of kids not enjoying this option for the length of the cruise.
