DCL Disney Magic At Sea UK Residents Only Sailing Summer 2021 General Information

The ship is due to commence european itineraries in August so if these go ahead the UK voyages could run untill then....

Depending on travel restrictions these european cruises could of course still be cancelled...
Hadn't spotted that... was hoping it'd run into September like the other lines are seeming to... unfortunately may not have had both my vaccines in time for this (if they decide it's a requirement) :(

I know its not DCL, but as this has a heavy UK theme, I thought some might like to know that Royal announced their UK summer cruises on AnthemOTS out of Southampton.

They are offering anyone with an official Blue Light Card (emergency services, NHS and Armed Forces) to register to be a part of a ballot to win one of 999 free cabins.
I put more info and a link on the Royal threads but thought some UK friends might want a heads up.

It not Disney, but Anthem is a pretty awesome ship and could be free if you win!

That's a great shout! I hope someone here wins!

Please pardon the intrusion! I was asked to share this updated information with everyone. I'll be honest I don't have a source for it I can link to, but the instagram is blue check official. Helping out because this looks useful for UK residents to know :)

Updates About DCL UK Residents Summer 2021 Cruises
Today DCL met with travel agents and gave an update. DCL are awaiting the Global taskforce report on travel to be released before releasing prices and dates. Castaway Members will have early booking and there is a new Instagram account for updates https://www.instagram.com/disneymagicatsea/

That's a clever way to get some sailings in outside the U.S./port restrictions. I'd do that if I was a UK resident. I wonder what the pricing will be?

High I would imagine MSC cruises are doing the same and many sailing s sold out already.

It's funny I've seen the ship in the port of dover so many times this year. Makes me wonder why they are not sailing from Dover!! Can I not jump onboard while it sails to one of the other ports lol!

Interesting that the Instagram account has a photo from Beauty and the Beast. Wonder if they’re bringing that show to the Magic?
Will it be an issue if staff were sent home? How do they have rehursuals. Presumably they will all have to be from the UK? Could they be bringing some of the west end shows onboard?

Hello I am back since 2014 last cruise with Disney Magic Cruise.

Omg, about this no where cruise and my family and I will love to return back to that my favourite ship. We hope we can travel to Newcastle from Scotland. I cannot wait and finger cross not too expensive?

well at least your first letter come for your family

I am in West Lothian. I got the Oxford one. With all the news I was hoping it was the other one

I do feel like it is one step closer to a better life and holidays after having it

I am in Midlothian and had one vaccine, hopeful another one in June.

Congratulations, Britons. You know so many of your fellow DISboarders would love the opportunity to sail Disney again - and soon.

I hope many of you are able to book soon and sail this summer.

My takeaways from the announcement are these:

1. Children will be onboard. The phrase “#1 for Families” is shown twice. Pictures of kids. Broadway-style shows are touted.

This company very carefully crafts their publicity. Current US TV commercials for Disney cruises show families wearing masks. If they are still needed by the time we get to cruise, they have laid the foundation that we shouldn‘t be surprised.

2. Characters will be visible. But not necessarily the Meet & Greets of the past. They mention a Royal promenade - it could be a parade with social distancing.

...I imagine the various ports will be roundtrip cruises. I don’t know if you have restrictions on train travel now, but it would cut down on length of time on public transport to the port. And would also keep people more localized. In the US, we have an antiquated ban that prevents us from having short round trip cruises.

... I was reading today of one carrier that was utilizing pre-Cruise testing and reduced capacity to limit the risk of ship-board infections. (I just cannot recall which cruise line this was).

Vaccinated individuals would need to be tested at the port before boarding.

Non-vaccinated people would need two tests; the second also at the port before boarding.

We are getting our 2nd dose 3 weeks after Pfizer or 4 weeks after Moderna. Johnson & Johnson is a one dose regimen. I wonder why we don’t have such a large gap between jabs. Good luck to you all.

Looks like these are now officially cancelled (reservation removed from my account today) so I could see the UK offer now being extended into early September

Can you actually see it from somewhere when you go near the water at Dover?

Asking for a friend, who rides a motorbike, and desperate for a nice long drive with a nice view in the end *whistles* haha!

Yes you can. Dependent on where she is moored up, either on the pier (was there in september) or there is a national trust park on top of the cliffs (was there in October)

Oh wauw, that would be so cool to see! My boyfriend drives a motorbike, so obviously loves long ride.
I like to tag along when there is something at the end of the ride for me to see/do, haha.
