Maybe some of you DCL veterans can help me out. I was wondering if anyone knows who offers the best pricing for DCL? We have checked with Dreams Unlimited and their price is identical to going thru DCL directly. TIA for any recommendations.
I booked a 2009 DCL cruise when we were on our Dec 2007 DCL cruise. I transferred the booking to Dreams Unlimited when I got home and got the deal from the ship PLUS the extra onboard credit offer that Dreams Unlimited was offering at the time.

Amounts deposited in your onboard account where you can use the money to pay for excursions, drinks, spa appointments, shopping at the DCL shops, etc. Essentially cash.
You'll get more responses on the cruise forum. But here's what I know....
Disney sets the cruise price. There is usually no difference in price from TA to TA. What does change is the "perks" such as on-board-credits, gifts in your stateroom, etc.
Call costco and check their prices - they're usually a couple hundred dollars less than expedia's price...which is usually less than direct thru DCL...but I haven't priced a cruise in about 18 months...
Someone over on the cruise board got a heckofadeal via Travelocity. Something that in several years of watching the cruise board I hadn't seen. And it was for next summer.
We've used Dreams for both of our cruises and were quite content with them. I'd use them again without shopping around.
The Key with Disney is to book as far in advance as possible. They only have two ships and they sell out fast. I am going in Nov and booked it in Jan. It has gone up $150 per person already. Sometimes you can get a deal through a TA if they have a group going on Disney. Groups get incentive. You can then attach yourself to their existing group.
Another money saver would be to find an agency that has group space reserved on the sailing date that you are looking for. Or if you are flexible with your dates, ask the agecy you are working if hey have any groups available.
Unless it's significantly financially disadvantageous to do so, I'd be inclined to go through Dreams Unlimited. They brings these boards, podcasts, etc. to us all for free. I'd like to pay them back in some small way if I could.
As a DVC owner, I never need them to make hotel reservations. However, unless I use points, I'll go through them when I finally get to take a Disney cruise.
I love cruisecompete.com! A friend of mine bought the 5 day Magic ( now sold out ) from an agent who still had bulk space. She saved over $500.00 from other internet sites.
I've now used them myself for 4 cruises and couldn't be more happy.
