Is this still offered? and what are the age and weight requirements?

Good information.

Any idea how clean the helmets are? I know thats being picky, but the chin strap is a bit gross.

This sounds like a great tour. I'd love to hear some more comments if anyone has done it.

There are a few DIS'ers who have done this tour many times and love it.

I'd love to do this but am nervous about how difficult these are to operate. Anyone?

Surprisingly very easy to ride a Segway. Just a couple of weeks ago, we did a Segway tour in Washington DC. We were all a bit nervous at first, but it only took about 10 or 15 minutes to learn how to ride and then we were off on our tour.

First, they showed us a safety video about what to avoid and what can go wrong - wow, we were all hesitant after that. But actually getting on the machine and riding was incredibly easy. Our tour guide helped each person individually and then we were off.

BTW, we had people of different ages, shapes, and sizes - and everyone did just fine.

When we were in DC we actually had a segway tour come up on us and we scrambled out of their way. Nice to know this might for us :)

DH and I did this tour last year. I was a bit nervous and worried that it might be difficult to ride. The CMs told us all that the first time we stood on them it would take us a second to get our balance and that was very true. But it just takes a couple of seconds and I didn't feel like I was going to fall off or anything. We really enjoyed the tour -- it was a lot of fun and I would definitely do it again! :goodvibes

Ok, so I booked one for late in August.

They said to get there 7-7:15 to guest service window to pick up tickets. Where's this and do you think the segway tickets might be there the day before?

Finally, will the bag check people be out there at 7-7:15? If not, how do I get through?

Thanks.

I think you can only get the tickets the morning of the tour - not sure though. The guest service window is to the left of the entrance to DL.

There was a bag check lady there the morning we went, I had to explain to her why we were there so early before she would let us through (we came through the DTD side). Once she let us through, security came up to us and asked us the same thing. The tour was a surprise for DH, so I had to make him go away while I explained why we were there!
