We will be in Anaheim the end of Dec / Jan. Which park should we go to for New Years Eve?
Will the crowds be bigger at DCA because its new? Or will people go to DL because they know what to expect. We have never been to either before.

It may be crowded at DCA because of the holiday season but generally DCA has had barely any crowds what so ever. That is the reason Wolfgang Puck has pulled out of Avalon Cove (a restaurant at Paradise Pier in DCA).

Disneyland Park will probly be extremly crowded because of all the popular attractions and the fireworks and all the fun stuff.

Good Luck on the trip!

We have been to DL too many times to count--we just went in April and went to DCA also. I must say that my kids still like DL better. I think it's just because it's what they are used to. DCA isn't very big--you can do most everything in not much time. They have added a few things at DCA that weren't there in April. I would guess that DL would probably be more crowded at New Years. It depends on what kind of parades, etc. they are planning for DCA. You should plan on big crowds regardless. We went one year the day after XMAS for 4 days--it was really crowded because of the Rose Bowl (UCLA was playing vs. Wisconscon)--alot of people come into town for that. Those were some of the largest crowds we have ever experienced at DL! I think that they stopped letting people into the park at one point! Even with the crowds, it's a magical time to be there--all of the Christmas decorations are up--it's so neat! The Christmas parade is going too--you should have a real good time--just expect lots of company!

DL has the fireworks at midnight, and in front of the castle is a very popular spot to be (like you have to stand in standing room only space for 2 hours before midnight). It get's packed, but it's nice to see. DCA doesn't currently have fireworks (although I've heard they will have a new show that does have fireworks). DL will probably be more crowded. Even if DCA is filled to capacity it's still a lot less that DL filled to capactiy. I suggest making sure you enter the park before early afternoon, they've been know to close the part to new guests the closer to midnight it gets. Traditionally DCA opens later than DL (usally an hour), and closes earlier than DL (at least an hour, sometimes more). DL is usually open until 2 or so on new years. Since it's the first year, no idea what they will do. On Fourth of July they had electric parade at DCA and when it was over there wasn't enough time to get into DL for fireworks, but most people sat in the big circle area between the two parks and watched the fireworks there.
