Editor's Note 5/6: TDA pulled the trigger on Wednesday and extended DCA hours for at least the first week of World of Color, with an 11PM closing time June 11 through 19. They may revert back to 10PM once the AP summer blockouts kick in, or they may try for the later closings through summer depending on how the spending numbers read to them. Stay tuned, as anything involving World of Color is now very fluid and subject to change. - Al Lutz

Ok so that clarifies the confusion about the 3 show times. But it is really only keeping a few attractions open for longer because Paradise Pier rides will still close at 8 and they will not reopen.

Also regarding DCA park hours, I noticed that the park is not opening at 9AM, but instead it's "regular" opening time of 10AM. Wasn't the point of the recent 9AM openings to simulate when WoC opens?

This is good! :thumbsup2

It is more than a few...

Three headliners:

ToT
GRR
Soarin

Plus

MI
ITTBAB
Muppets
Animation Studios
All of BugsLand

Plus TSMM

So maybe half?

But still, ToT with not FPs, GRR with no FPs in the morning when they do show ShowPass, and Screamin and MM closes early so no FP use in the evening for them. And then half the rides open until 11PM and late shows of WOC until mindnight. It will be quite a disruption to all of our well-honed strategies. :cool2:

No, I think they opened at 9AM so they could close early and allow for more WOC testing. Once June hits it appears they are going back to regular 10AM openings.

Just when I have managed to figure out grad nights, blocked/unblocked, WOC, No Ariels Grotto supper maybe dinner pkg?, ROA refurb, the Canadian dollar, room location, itinerary, PS, seat sales, shuttles, vacation planning not talking by email, Last minute vacation tickets, my GAD vouchers, 9000 then 6000 then crappy seats and now this...great news but now I have to re-think my itinerary again:faint:

I may need to put Bailey's in my coffee as I could not log in to pay off my room so had to call long distance.....again:surfweb:

what next...thanks for the good news though Trey!:goodvibes

:rotfl:and people say planning a DLR trip is easier than WDW...

Okay, Disney is keeping us on our toes! Back to scheduling...:surfweb:

Sweet Mother of Mary it used to be just so much easier to go to DL but planning this trip has almost drove me bonkers. I swear I would never say this but it is easier to plan a trip to WDW:eek:

I thought I read in the last update thet TSMM would remain open in spite of the rest of the closures.... I will have to go reread it!! :)

Me too. Having to replan. :surfweb:

I just think it's funny that a "water show" would be described as "very fluid". :rotfl:

IF the "holding pen" idea actually goes through, it will be interesting to see how it's handled--it could easily end up blocking off Monsters Inc. and Muppetvision to everyone except Showpass holders. (Though really, if you corralled Showpass people an hour in advance and their choices were to hang out visit Monsters Inc., or visit Muppetvision, I reckon those attractions might suddenly get some pretty hefty attendance. ;) )

That is the latest rumor and what I have been speculating all along in my World of Color Superthread. Why close TSMM when it is indoors already? Only close the outdoors rides...

That's where the reminder of the fact that much of this is all speculation and guessing, not direct information from Disney.

Not totally true IMO. Al Lutz is not speculating and guessing. He started giving info on World of Color a long, long time ago and has mostly been right. If I am not mistaken he was the one who broke the news on WoC and the whole DCA refurb long before Disney announced anything.

As you are aware Al has sources inside Disney. When things change it is not so much Al Lutz was wrong as Disney changed their mind in an evolving environment.

But if I were planning a once in a lifetime vacation, I would not consider information from Al Lutz to be fact. I would base my plans only on information that is confirmed from Disney.

As you said above, if Disney changes something, Al is wrong. If I am planning a vacation completely based on something that I read in Al Lutz's report and then Disney does something different, it could throw off my plans completely - especially if it's a short trip.

This is why I feel it's important to remind the many, many people here on DIS that are planning vacations, that Al's information is not the same as something being announced by Disney. If it were me planning a trip, I would base my plans on what is known to be true, not what is "in theory" true from someone reporting 2nd hand information.

I totally agree. Some people on the forum are here for planning info. Others are here because they are curious about all the new things Disney has coming and want to hear the rumors and be first to know. But probably most of us are some mixture of the two. Like me. I want to know how to make the Fantasmic Dessert buffet work for me (purely planning info - no speculation wanted). But I also am fascinated by how World of Color is coming together - which is a whole bunch of rumors.

FWIW, the very top of my WOC thread tells people not to use the info for planning. Will some people still do so? Maybe. If I were going to be there June 11 I would - for lack of anything better. :)

And the part I bolded is exactly why I posted my comment above that you replied to. I would hate to see people here on DIS that are planning to use the rumors as the guide for their trips. :goodvibes

As we both know, not everyone starts at the first post when reading a thread. :upsidedow
