DCA Food & Wine Festival, Mar 10 to Apr 16

Aw, man! I'm thinking of a trip that gets us to DL 5pmish on the 16th and was hoping to enjoy the F&W festival the week following. Might have to book an earlier flight!

Thanks for posting!

Our first DLR visit is 3/25-3/31! Can't believe we got lucky. Last 2 visits to WDW have been during F&W.

Off to investigate the offerings!

Booooooo! We had to change our March trip to one in April and we arrive on the 17th!

I am very excited for this. Thinking about dropping the Vegas part of our trip now and spending the entire week at DL :woohoo:

I'm looking forward to the F&W Festival in DCA, but I hope the prices/portion sizes are better than they were for the Festival of Holidays!

Coincidentally I had to bump my next trip to 3/30-4/2 (it was going to be in late April). I've been waiting for this announcement since the last one ended. Totally missed the fact that this will be a daily event this time around (even though I'll be there over a weekend).

so bummed because last year it was all through April and based on that I planned our trip for the weekend of the 29th. My daughter's birthday is the 27th or I would change it to earlier. Boo :(

After Festival of Holidays my enthusiasm to plan a trip to DCA F&W has diminished greatly. Fingers crossed that was a fluke & DL learned some lessons, but I'm gonna sit it out this year. Unless your reports are that it's amazing & then I may have to consider a last minute trip ;)

I've never been to DCA during a F&W festival. What can I expect? is this daily or only on the weekends?

Last year, there were a number of marketplaces serving food and wine pairings along the parade route between Carthay Circle and Paradise Pier. There were some free cooking demos and talks with chefs throughout the day; while also having some sit-down wine tastings with the winemakers for $15 per person (I think). There were also premium demos and tastings with celebrity chefs that were much more expensive. Since its daily this year, I would just expect more variety among everything. It was a fun time!

I have to say, I hear you on this one! This was my first holiday trip to DLR (right after Thanksgiving) and I was completely underwhelmed by Festival of Holidays!! From the mediocre food to the underwhelming merchandise, I don't think it held a candle to F&W. I'm still incredibly optimistic for 2017 F&W though.

Thank you for the info...

Marketplaces? Like food booths?! Just trying to picture how these marketplaces look like.

'Serving food and wine pairings'....for an extra cost I presume?

Sorry for the silly questions. Just wanna be prepared!

Yes, they're food booths set-up along the walkway. There was a Disboard thread for the 2016 Festival that has lots of helpful information (http://www.disboards.com/threads/california-adventure-food-wine-april-2016.3484073/). DisneyGeek also has some photos from last year's event (https://disneygeek.com/disneyland/pictures/2016/04/01/20).

Yes. I'm hoping they'll release the menus and pricing soon, but they didn't release that information more than a few weeks ahead of time last year.

Thank you!!! Just what i was looking for!

While some people might be happy about this, I just see it as 4 more months DCA will not run the Pixar Play Parade. And while paying $13 for half a ham and gouda sandwich sounds great (yeah, that's sarcasm), me and the kids would rather see the parade. And since the parade costs money and we don't pay more for it, but we can pay more for small food items, Disney will go with us paying more. Follow the money.

Bring back the Parade.
