Does anyone know if the "secret" Condor Flats tour is still happening? We stayed at the GCH last year and went on the tour. We'd love to do it again this year. Thanks!:goodvibes

Must be a great secret - I've never heard of it. What did it cover?

We learned about it on one of the message boards I read (can't remember which one) you go to the DCA entrance at the GCH about 9:00 a.m. or so, and there was one Disney CM there - more of a managment level person.

He asked us how he could help us, and we said that we were there for the "Condor Flats Tour". He had us line up with the 5 or so people already there. Then, about 9:15 a.m. or so, we were taken to ride Soarin' just our group of 8. It was Great!!! So, we were able to ride Soarin' before anyone else and immediatly got in line for TSMM.

I will just give it a try this year and see if they are still doing it.

My understanding Is that the Grand does this, basically you get to ride that ride before park open, not a tour per se.

Soarin' opens agt 9:30, anyone can go get FP's or get in line to ride it then. :)

When the park officially opens at 9:00 AM, does Soarin' open at 8:30 AM?

We never got any solid info on that. DCA never opened at 9AM until this year and seems that was only temporary so they could close earlier in the evening to support WOC testing. However it sounds like Disney is looking at an early start at DCA when WOC opens. Maybe just opening the PP rides early. See http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al033010a.htm

I just heard of riding Soarin early a few months ago. I thought it was open to everyone. So does this mean you have to be a guest at the GC or one of the other Disney resorts and wait in line at the GC entry point? We have been there many times and never have had an inkling that we could do this. :confused3 To think of all the time we could have saved had we joined Disboards earlier. Thanks to all the posters who share the 'secrets'. :worship:

This is a separate perk just for the GCH guests, and is actually earlier than the 9:30 pre-opening time for all DCA guests. It is only for GCH guests and you need to be at the GCH private entrance at around 9 am and talk to the CM at the turnstile. I don't have any recent info as to whether it is still offered, but my dd and I did this a few years back.

Thanks, Hydroguy. The link was very interesting. DCA opens at 9 AM every day we are there (as well as DL), so we need a new morning strategy. I guess I should start a new thread for that.
