DC discounts, renewal, etc

I'm going to be planning a trip for next fall (hopefully) for me, DH, and DD (will be 1y1m). We'll be buying APs and would like to use DC discount on these passes & car rental. I know the AP discount is usually better for the room. Unfortunately, my DC membership runs through May of 2003. Do I need to pay a renewal fee (through 12/2003 when the DC ends) to get Oct discounts? Or can I book in May for Oct and not renew. Will the new Disney credit card offer the same discounts?

You will need to have a valid DC card when you go. DC will prorate your 2003 renewal from your expiration date through December 31st.

Be advised you must renew by December 12, 2002 or you will not be able to do it at all. So don't procratinate.

I just renewed my membership which was valid through February. The DC prorated my renewal which cost $24 and change. This cost is more than offset by the 20% discount from National.

My DC membership expires in Aug and it was only $9 to renew til the end of 2003. I think it is definitely worth it
